Will consider to spray black all bolts and brackets that comes with leader. And if you have to take leader down just put some hameride on holes and maybe even bit of silicone.
The ladder black brackets are ‘sided’ and offset which is why they didn’t line up. Top left switch with bottom right etc! Now you’ve made it easy for muppets to climb your van! Remember the weight limit on your van! Best build inside the essentials first and see how much spare weight is left????
Dude.....do you ever read the instructions?!?!? SMASHING WHEELS N TIRES...you need to upgrade the suspension, shocks, springs etc! (The ladder was out of control! ) Super FUN Video, another great one Will!
Best van build vid on you tube. Credit to you for including the things that everyone does which make us feel slightly stupid! They are the sort of things that us non professional van builders make. Van is looking good.
I was shouting at you 'move the seat!!' May I suggest a skylight as well as a deck at the back! It will transform the light inside, is awesome to watch night sky and safest way to add airflow at night.😎
Classic example of RTFI. We're all guilty of it. :-) Personally, I think the permanently fixed ladder idea is a bad decision because not only does it give you instant access to your platform but also every nogoodnik and kiddywink too. Wouldn't carrying a telescopic ladder in the garage be a better idea? A bit more troublesome and time consuming perhaps but how frequently will you be going up there? You want your van to be as secure as possible and invisible for stealth mode so you don't want to draw attention to it. Plus, your weight won't put leverage on the door hinges causing the door to droop. And it's something less to worry about when you hear noises in the night. And you can use the ladder for other purposes on your travels too. And. And. And...... :-)
The van build is taking a long time because they do take a long time. Your doing a great job and learning along the way. Nothing wrong with that at all.
New to the channel. I absolutely love the fact this shows the reality of what’s going on. Rather that than these glossy videos where everything is easy and everything looks perfect
This vlog made our minds up with sourcing new alloys!!! Made a stonking purchase on alloys and all terrain tyres for our transit custom camper from Rogue Alloys!!! Can’t wait to get them and get the fitted, and I used your discount code too, happy days, Chris was extremely helpful with something I knew absolutely nothing about, who knew there were soo many options 😀😀, cheers Will 👍👍#roguealloys #2happycampers #vanlife
Hi Will, TÜV is the German MOT. However, they do more than just checking cars. They check MANY other products - just about anything - and have become a guarantor for quality and the safety of products. Even on English products you will often find the TÜV seal, that means it's been checked for quality and safe use by these German testers.
Will, I absolutely enjoy your videos. You are as real as it gets. I appreciate how you're not a "poser ". You show the triumphs, as well as the fails. From Nevada in the United States...two thumbs up 👍 👍👏👏
If i could suggest two things, I noticed the ladder bottom bracket doesn't have one washer which might cause issues if someone heavy goes up the ladder and also like other have mentioned put a dab of primer on the drilled holes to prevent rust. Not trying to bash or anything just genuinely enjoy following your van build and hope to see it build to a good and safe standard. Keep it on brother!
Don't worry Will, the first time you do a mechanics job it always takes ages and ages, the second time it takes 15 minutes. PS, a suggestion, some locking wheel nuts for those fancy new wheels? :)
Loving the new tyres.. again making me smile .. pushing seats forward & advice on the ladder don't follow instructions 😁 I love that your keeping it real on your van build. Take care and drive safe 🤗
Slowly but steady mate, its coming on a treat and the main thing is your basically doing it all yourself with a little help which makes it feel better knowing you've done it ,looking forward to seeing the next upgrades
Not sure if the seats have airbags or some sort of module, but if you disconnected them without first disconnecting the battery, you may get a light on the dash. Then, you'll need to clear the codes. This was probably filmed a few days ago, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.
Love watching your build. You are US, the nauvis. Of course that means like you, we are going to do it wrong a good bit of the time as well. You do make it entertaining that is for sure. Glad that you can laugh at yourself and we laugh with you. Keep on keep on.
Greetings from italy! I hope you include sardegna in your eurotrip! It's a beautiful island off coast Italy and you will experience a different kind of Italian culture!!!
Nice jobs done Will, all the small steps add to the big picture. Laughing I would have been the same with the seat, so would many others too I'd say. Great work, well done.
I’ve been sitting here watching you install the swivel and I’m dying laughing, I knew exactly what you needed to do to get it to move without hitting the door! You remind me so much of my late nephew, he did stuff like this and yes I laughed at him also!! Can’t wait to see the finished product and seeing you get back on the road!! ❤️
Will, your doing a great job bud... your getting lots of experience so when it comes for YOU to convert my van it should be easy....🤣🤣🤣 great video, love the out takes...
You actually crack me up!!! You are such a special hooman don’t ever change!! Crying at you figuring out to move the seat forward!!! We will be there soon to speed up the process 😂😂
Will Mate, keep on plugging away one literal step at a time! Just wondering if you put some silicone sealant on the drill holes for the ladder. I realize they came with those gaskets but it would be good to put some sealant to stop water leaks and corrosion. Stay safe and healthy!
@@bellathebus95 True, I should have been more specific when I said silicone. You need to use Pre-cured silicone sealants such as GE Metal Silicone 2 Sealant.
Off-road tyres will send your fuel consumption up and they're really designed for 4 x 4's ... but, hey, they look pretty ! Also, did you get a Spare the same size ... ??? If not, at least invest in some tyre seal for emergencies ...
We always love seeing the van progression and your mishaps along the way! Everything always takes at least double the time you think when doing jobs for the first time. Loving the new wheels 😍
Will you give everyone hope that are thinking a van build is to hard for them to take on, LOL. To be fair I was planning on building a double seat box on Saturday morning, it took three days due mainly an RCA cable breaking right at the end and needing to take it all out to replace the cable, the things you don't expect to cause a problem seem to go out of their way to become a problem. Good effort thou, looking forward to see what you do to the inside, tyre's and wheels look amazing, good choice.
I always have my tires mounted with the blackwalls facing out. If you live in an urban area where you often park alongside curbs, the black outside layer that covers the white layer underneath it (for the white lettering) scrapes off too easily and over time the whitewall or raised white lettering starts to look shoddy because of the nicks from rubbing against the curbs. As for which brand, I used to mainly buy BF Goodrich tires but put on a set of Falkan AT tires this year & am very pleased with them. They have an aggressive tread but are quiet at highway speeds, and they look good. Now I need to see how they compare in the snow & ice.
Will, you shouldn’t notice to much difference with tyre noice until you get to motorway speeds and above where the bigger block tread of the all terrain tyres tend to make a little bit more noise but it shouldn’t be that intrusive.
Epic entertainment Will. I have watched a tonne of van build series, but yours outdoes them all 👍✌️👏. Primarily because of all of the ‘Willisms’, but also the way you’ve kept at it, when I’d have given up ages ago 😆. The tyres look mega 👍👌
Will its so verry entertaining watching you work things out , your not alone i would of done exactly the same with the seat !! At times I miss your old Galaxy but its so good to see your progression and can't wait for your European videos
Will, you’re a good actor and probably need to extend your video for the swivel seat operations, haha! Knowing you, you would have already research it moreover your Honda also got a swivel seat. Anyway, it’s good for those new to DIY vanbuilt. AWESOME look on your van with new tyres and ladder. 👍
Will consider to spray black all bolts and brackets that comes with leader. And if you have to take leader down just put some hameride on holes and maybe even bit of silicone.
I think that dog almost stole the show. That was nice to see. Thanks for putting him in.
The puppy scene was my favorite part!
Have you not learnt anything, paint your holes to avoid rust!
Apart from that, proper progress, spot on 👍

Loads of wet muddy roads in Spain and Italy, good idea pal
Yeah! Build a storage unit for SHOES under your swivel seat!!!
A Europe tour with Charlie and Lauren would be good
Mate when you swiveled the chair the first time i was in tears,🤣 sorry.
Same 😂 it was funny
I personally was yelling at him 🤣 but I am a woman and us women know

Spat my rice crispies out all over the table when you first tried to turn 🤣,new wheels look great !

Just for future proofing, I’d loosen those wheel nuts and torque them down the uga dugas for his gun may cause chaos down the line
I think you are doing a great job, learning lots of skills and being self reliant.

The tires and rims look great on the van!
Always happy to see William doing something.
Specially in this moment 17:18 😁
Should be quite straightforward always sets me on edge...but hey you got there Will, looking good!
Had General grabber AT3s on my Ducato and were bloody awesome Will. Great choice 👌🏽👌🏽
@13:40 Idea - do box all the way across with lid w a hole for table top?

put a little bit of sealant around the ladder bolts on the internal side of door.
Each time you drill into your van I sure hope you are adding some anti-rust solution to the holes?
Was thinking the same thing, especially important on the ladder where rust will cause the bolt to pull out.
Good job. I would fit a travel box on the roof. It would free up more space inside the van. It's taking shape now. 👍.
Love the dog! 🖤🖤🖤
Stop worrying about how long it takes. It takes as long as it takes, you’re doing a proper job 👍🏻
No wonder it was taking so long
It feels like maze to do everything and in perfect way

Don't worry Will, the first time you do a mechanics job it always takes ages and ages, the second time it takes 15 minutes. PS, a suggestion, some locking wheel nuts for those fancy new wheels? :)
Locking wheel nuts are essential if you have new rims these days, going to take someone all of 15minutes to bag themselves some new rims/tyres.
Locking wheel nuts! Sound advice!

Use a torque wrench to check the wheel nuts after 50 miles or so didn’t see them use a torque wrench after the air gun
Loving the wheels will looks proper good. 😍😍😍 lefty loosey / righty tighty

That storage unit for the feet is a good idea, since you're 6'2 that would be helpful🤣😇
Will: "Should be simple"
Me" *gets popcorn*
pmsl
Dog part was my favorite scene 😁
When you said "Italy" I literally went 🤩 Hope you'll come soon 🙏🏼
Cheers from Italy mate! 🇮🇹
2 Swivel seats in the front - Lagun table mounted accordingly = Lounge area without taking up any room inside the van ...

Great stuff Will...coming along nicely mate 👍

New queens and ladder and swivel seat look amazing on the van and your van is taking shape now love the videos
Getting there mate. Love the idea of the roof deck. Imagine that in a cool country by the beach with a nice cold beer! Awesome stuff!
I just wanna build a time machine...travel in future and watch all of ur videos at once, God I am addicted to ur work...❤❤
Love following your progress no matter how slow lol. Great work so far. James
Spat my tea out laughing ,at the seat bit.🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏

The van's looking good ! don't worry about making mistake's , we all have to learn and make mistake's along the way.. keep up the good work.
Liked this one aswell.
Well done Will 🙂
Will Mate, keep on plugging away one literal step at a time! Just wondering if you put some silicone sealant on the drill holes for the ladder. I realize they came with those gaskets but it would be good to put some sealant to stop water leaks and corrosion. Stay safe and healthy!
Agreed! Silicone seal the bolt areas and it looks like from the video that he missed a big washer on the inside bottom right bolt.
Never use silicone on blank car parts always use the properstuff. When silicone hardens it creates vinegar which can corrode your metal over time
@@bellathebus95 True, I should have been more specific when I said silicone. You need to use Pre-cured silicone sealants such as GE Metal Silicone 2 Sealant.

Awesome wheels and tyres 👍
Try the brackets on the inside of the uprights.

Good progress Will.
will, TÜV translated means the equivalent of UK's MOT approval.
Well done Will, it took us ages to figure out how our ‘Swivel Seat turned around in my T6, lots of scratching of heads 😎
Very good work by you! Think you're doing well! You should take a trip to Norway! Wish you a good weekend when it comes! Stay Safe!
It is looking good! I agree all black wheels and windows in the back. The ladder is a nice add on.The seat operator 🙄👍❤

Your doing a great job and entertaining us as well 🤣🤣
