I know this pedal rules because that entire intro was literally indecipherable
No chainsaw? No want.
The word "literally" needs to go away.
HM-2 it’s always a lot of fun, great review!
Whoa that intro demo track was absolutely slamming!!!! Fucking awesome!
Looking to get one soon. Love the chainsaw sound. Entombed - Left Hand Path is a highly influential record that is my benchmark for that grimmy chainsaw sound. Thanks for the review!
Custom Mode seems to be a feature for modern guitars with more dynamic pups? I agree with your assessment of the sound profile. Cleans it up a bit
Cool Ironbird, dude🤘
Way back in the day, my first real band used to play green day, nirvana, blink, smashingpumpkins, weezer, nadasurf, and every other early 90s band you can think of. Matt, our guitarist and main singer, had the shitty overdrive channel on his randall amp, an hm2, and later on, a grunge pedal. You know the one. Purple, crakle paint job. And it sounded perfect for everything. I guess you make due with what you got. I always the hm was boss, if you will. I still have one.
Yep that was my sound back in the day. 2 guitars both using it and you get a horrible indecipherable mess of noise. Perfect 👍
That Fck cleans screen saver is hilarious and I love cleans Can’t decide if I wanna keep this pedal though
I have the EyeMaster, because I have that im not sure if I will get the new HM2 Waza, but ohh it's temping. Maybe once my EyeMaster goes out.. if it ever does
Okay but can we talk about that Ironbird? Holy shit what a beaut
what guitar is that?
@@mbrighton1802 it's a bc rich iron bird but I don't know the model
Haha, I'm sitting here in my couch watching a documentary about the Swedish metal scene produced by SVT (Sveriges Telivision) and then your face pops up in the segment about the HM2. Only for a brief moment amongts other metal UA-camrs, but I didn't expect to see you here xD...
It's fully in Swedish, but a fun watch, assuming you can find it with subtitles. "Hårdrock på export".
Edit: that intro is the most Swedish thing I've heard in a while, and I live here 😂.
F cleans forced me to sub immediately!
Quality review
I picked up one of these Waza HM2 right when they came out. I thought it was strange, it was the same price i paid for my 1987 HM2 and my 1993 HM2. Though it is NOT the same as the older models IMO. Im not exactly sure what is different, other than today's models are using micro components compared to old school stuff. Im sure that effects the sound in some way. One day i'll dig up the schematic and I'll compare the old vs new. But i still like love it wont sell this one ever. Lol
Sure I had one of those back 92. I used shred my Jackson thru one of those, sure it was just a HM2 tho, was a while ago...
Boss been rockin many a bedroom since time...
Its so awesome dimed
The doombird is so fn crazy😂😂😂
Hey bro I was told that those pedals are pre amp pedals and that in order to get the desired effect from them you need to run it into your effects loop through the clean channel of a tube amp and then you will get the true tones of the pedal,I didn't believe it until I seen Ola Englund do it and that fucking pedal sounded crushing and even OLA was amazed and said that it sounded fucking bad ass.so why don't you try that real quick and let me know your results.i have a few high gain tubes amps but I don't have that pedal or I would try it myself.please report back to us 🤘love your channel and I am a subscriber
I had a Peavey Backstage PLUS from the 1980's and literally could not give it away free.
Still watching but I must say *fantastic* choice of intro demo song: If there's one thing that I associate with the metal zone pedals is very early 90s Death Metal particularly of the Swedish buzzsaw variety.
Great vid. I've got an original MIJ HM-2 but have been thinking of picking up the Waza Craft especially since they've dropped the price.
Could you provide details on your Ironbird? Thanks!
This doesn’t look like Arnold from different strokes…
Kurt from Crowbar knows how to use them. He uses it more of a boost and not as a distortion pedal. He turns the distortion dial to 0. I’m going to guess it’s more “ in tha hands” for him. You got more of a Entombed tone at the beginning.
Dude he uses a metal zone as a boost
Second that…. I saw a few interviews on UA-cam where Kirk refers to the Metal Zone. Also, being also from Louisiana (as Kirk/Crowbar) and seeing them dozens of times I can also speak on that.
C mode is CUSTOM not CLASSIC.
I keep getting confused. You’d think I’d know it after having the pedal a year.
I literally can't distinguish notes - I don't get this music.
It sounds like shit in person. There’s some studio magic necessary to make it sound awesome like all the Swedish death metal records. Sounds really great blended with “traditionally” distorted guitars, too.
Hey bud whats the scale length on that ac bad boy? 24 3/4ths or 25.5? It did look super compact.
25.5
Dude wtf....i got sick a little after christmas no Cv, but i lost all taste as well and its barely coming back very slowly...its the worse, good luck man.
Sounds like 90s Entombed.
