yeah my pully wheel cracked many years ago, my quick fix which lasted so far, was super glue the crack but also pass a peice of fuse wire through the pully wheel hole , then push it back on shaft.
I went to a machine shop and had one aluminium, mane belt drive wheel made for mine, (replaced the plastic one) $80.00 with set screws, done forever... I'm sure they could make 2 of those.
Cool, had the same problem so i ordered the complete engine and changed it. Now i have another problem, with no/slow action in play-mode. It gets worse when the machine haven´t been used. So i suspect it need oiling?
Hi, trying to find one of these in UK, is it a shaft collar? I have no measuring tool, please can you tell me what diameter the interior shaft needs to be? Thanks!
Did this method hold up? My pulleys keep flying off periodically ... last time I glued the recurring problem pulley (with cement glue) which lasted a couple of months, but it came off again last night.Trying to find a better solution, this looks like a good one!
The only problem I've had with mine is the timing pulley issue. If you can figure out how to remove the front cover like I have in my video, you can inspect the drive system in action to maybe determine if it is a mechanical problem. If it is an electronic problem, I don't know.
hi to all i use E CLIPS they work very well penny's they cost your plan is good as well the man on the internet sell new one's for £35 each over priced big time
I used a 7/64 bit on mine. It's a tiny bit loose, but once you tighten the set screw, very lightly by the way so as not to make things worse, it worked beautifully
I have the same problem with my R8, which I bought new around 1985. I'm having a problem with the speed. It starts playback slow and takes about 20 seconds to get up to speed. Any thoughts about what I can do?
hotboxdp Sorry, I don’t know what is causing the speed lag on your machine, luckily my only problem has been the split pulley hub that I am showing. Your problem seems not to be related to mine as my capstan speed was never affected, only the takeup and rewind.
I had a similar problem, and it was a drive belt problem. It cost around 13 dollars from Walmart of all places. Finally running again after years collecting dust

Cool. I just got one from craigslist. It seems to work ok so hopefully I won't need to worry about this pulley gear breaking...
could the pully be be made up in metal on a 3D printer ? they do that for old Super 8 Projectors to bring them back to life

As I stated in the video, the collar I used is for RC airplane landing gear, and the drill bit I used is a number 3. That is .210" or 5.36 mm.

Seen both your vids on this, very clear fix. Mine has started to slow down after about 10 min of play....know a fix for that?

Do You Still Have A Lead For That Metal Replacement ?
The collars come from the hobby shop that sells RC plane supplies.
so just what size is your #3 drill bit? Please give me the fraction 1/64 for example.

Mine is doing the opposite...starts normal then runs slow. Hope I can find the fix.
