I know he said latex glue, but there are probably 10 different types. And I saw him use two different glues in this video.

I was a carpet guy for ages. Showed up to repair a 'burn hole'. The hole was the shape of a clothes iron, through the carpet, though the pad, and the plywood floor was scorched. It seems the family was going on a road trip and as they were about to reverse out the driveway Dad remembered his sunglasses. Ran back in the house, smelled smoke, and found the iron. Dad told me the last thing the three year old did before getting in the car was plugging in the iron and putting it on the floor. If Dad hadn't run in for his sunglasses the house would have burned down. I cut out the burn hole and suggested he save that burned scrap for a few years until Jr asks to borrow the car for the first time....

My late friend did this and furniture repairs. He would resew the new strends into a new backer. Melt the patch in, then trim it to length with this crazy suck-cut machine that looked like a belt sander. Was amazed how good it looked when finished. For furniture arms. He would take the whole thing apart by unstitching the fabric. Use cardboard and foam to beef up the armrest then restitched it. Sometime he would take the fabric off the back of the chair and use it to replace the old worn fabric. So cool watching him.

Lol y'all have zero experience.. consider the subfloor, pattern in the carpet, and the direction it runs. Also good luck making it look anything but terrible without straight cuts, the "zapper" is litterally melting glue. If you mess up, you'll ruin the rest of your carpet. Thickness in the padding, does the carpet need reatretchi g first??

For the people saying that it looks easy trust me it is not. He makes it look easy because he's good at what he does and he has been doing it for a long time. The short pyle carpet that he repaired in this video is some of the most difficult because it is very difficult to hide flaws if you make any.

If you ever stain the carpet, use mineral spirits on the cut offs and rub into the stain.. it transfers the dye from the cutoff to the stain, covers it up.

That stuff just acts as a sponge for filth, dead skin cells, pollen, mud, pet dander.......so much cleaner and happier with vinyl! Carpet seems like a bad dream now. It's like wiping your feet on a towel or soft mat...it feels good, but at least you can clean the towel or small mat...the carpet never gets cleaned thoroughly enough. I used to shampoo it regularly and stains would come back....when we removed it there was a layer of dirt underneath. Our air is now much cleaner and you can breathe better.

Does anyone know how much this service costs? And any recommendations for a carpet repair in Las Vegas?

Interesting... We have a hole in our carpet where the seams come together. I put a runner over it lol. I never thought about repairing it, but we do have a remnant in the basement.

I do this for a living: trust me the video is much more interesting than real life. Left out of video, re gluing the cpt to the floor when it’s a padless installation

Saw someone commenting about putting furniture over the hole. Reminded the time when my family sold an apartment. But we made a hole on the bedroom door. So my mom hanged a calendar over. But the funny thing is that. The hole is only 2 feet (60~70cm) above ground. So the calendar is only up to your knees XDD
