Led Zeppelin was great too. Some of the best musicians that ever existed. I am not a big fan of Whitesnake but I can easily tell that they were probably very good at their time. Now they have sound changers and that is why people like it. This is pure talent. Cheers!
It just plain Sad that Radio Stations never play " Judgement Day " All I ever hear is the overplayed " Here I go again " &" Is it Love, Love Is a Stranger."Come on man Whitesnake has so many Great Songs that We never get to hear on the Radio.
What Coverdale and Vandenberg did on ten bars after @1:44 summarizes what's so delicate and tasteful about Whitesnake, imho. The high pitch that points to heavens, then the legato that comes down like a flowing stream, then the grounded, thick voice of Coverdale coming in, and the repetitive palm muted heavy riff that backs him up (which is amazingly fun to play because of the timing Vandenberg wrote there - how much Vai modified what he wrote I wonder) and the drum that closes the riff.
Exactly. I lost a lot of respect for Robert Plant when he called David and impostor. DC sings a million times better than Plant today. I like both of them but RP was only good in his prime, he is terrible now and that is the real reason he won´t do a Led Zep final goodbye tour. He can´t sing the songs anymore.
Roger Coventry it's all relative. Its a good album but completely different from what Whitesnake was with Moody and Marsden. Whitesnake actually came close to the early years with Doug Aldrich.
@@orlandoaugustostock839 Absolutely! Im always amazed when I watch his live shows on here where he gets all those 80s sounds from his Les Paul. Not to mention singing to. Very underrated man. Blue Murder kicks ass to!
@Deuce Brikkinsson Adrian hurt his wrist right before they started laying down the tracks for Slip of the Tongue. He had come up with alot of the riffs for the album before Steve had joined. So Steve played both his and Adrian's parts on the album, making it a point to play Adrian's parts like Adrian would play them. Btw, I'm always confused!
Somehow when this LP and Whitesnake's previous self-titled LP went mainstream, they went glam and sold old and got more girls, girls, girls because the late 80's were strictly pop and this is when a newly Whitesnake went big hair, fishnet, and all makeup. Personally, I like Whitesnake in that era first, and their early metal-blues second, IMO. That's me regarding this band. Miss the 80's.
károly gacs strangely I never thought any early white snake songs sounded at all like zep until plant started whining. All of a sudden Coverdale started putting out zep sounding songs including an album with Page. Do you think he does it to get under Plants skin?
@@thetruthhurts6652 I sincerely hope so lol Don't forget Coverdale & Page also toured and Coverdale sang a lot of Led Zep songs and sang them very well.
I like this song since it first came out it empowers me to lift weights from the year 1990 - 2017 it is now July 27th today and still going strong with pumping iron I have not lost a step this song is truly one of the greatest ones that ever was on the planet
This album gets a lot of stick but it's honestly pretty damn good. Sure, Vai might not have been the most appropriate guitarist for it, but there are still some killer songs on there, like this one.

Probably my favorite Whitesnake. Song!!!!!
Oh, man. This song still sounds fresh 25 years later.
and still 30 years later!
@@belrosee and 31 years later
That’s why Mr. David Coverdale of Deep Purple & Whitesnake is “ICONIC” 😉🥰
One of my favourite Whitesnake songs. Vai's playing and layering is incredible.
Mine too
The night is gone
The time has come
To find a new day has begun
An' it promises to stay
To soothe the pain of wasted years
An' kiss away the bitter tears
A love to light the way
And from the darkness
Comes a smile
That reaches out for many miles
Touching everyone
No more shadows of the past
Your spirit free to fly at last
Shining in the sun
Like the rolling thunder
I feel the power of love
It's a gift from heaven
And the Lord above
We walk toward desire
Hand and hand
Through fields of fire
With only love to light the way
On the road to Judgment Day
Take it easy, take it slow
I'll take you anywhere you wanna go
Places never seen before
'Cause I love you, an' I need you
I'll do my best to please you
My love can open any door
When you hear the thunder
In your darkest night
I'll be there to hold you
When the lightning strikes
So don't you worry,
You can ease your mind
'Cause we'll be dancing
At the end of time
Who loves you, who needs you
Who'll do his best to please you
I love you, I need you
I'll get down on my knees
We walk toward desire
Hand and hand
Through fields of fire
With only love to light the way
On the road to Judgment Day
So don't you worry, baby
On the road to Judgment Day
Who loves you, who needs you
On the road to Judgment Day
So I love you, and I need you
My love can open any door
My love can open any door
It's that sultry synth on electric with Jazz drums
great song to listen to while trying to attain heaven
MAID IN HEAVEN
This Band had the best musicians around back in the day.. doesn't get any better in my humble opinion
Led Zeppelin was great too. Some of the best musicians that ever existed. I am not a big fan of Whitesnake but I can easily tell that they were probably very good at their time. Now they have sound changers and that is why people like it. This is pure talent. Cheers!

one of the greatest songs of all time
I listened to this album a million times when it came out, still
Love it just as much 🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘
By far one of the greatest songs by Whitesnake!! The voice, the guitars!!!
Easily Whitesnake's best 'heavy' track. Survives the test of time so well too :)
Steve Vai absolutely nails it on this song.
This could easily be a Bond theme, it has that feel
You are so right
keep that thought in a disc
Its got the same 3 note progression the bond theme
IS A GIFT FROM HEAVEN

you mind if I store your memories in a CD and then make the manifestation of my soul use a [G U N] ?

I love the atmosphere that Vai and Coverdale created with this one. I love how the song goes up and goes up every moment. Amazing
So underrated. Love this song.
A melhor banda de Hard Rock da história, sem dúvida.
David Coverdale at his best.☺
Голос обалденный! 🔥
Definately has a bit of "Kashmir" in it.
That why Whitesnake was so great!!!!
David Coverdale.... SAF and that epic voice!!!!!! Oh how i loved me some whitesnake!!!!

Damn Coverdale is KING! No one has vocals like this, like razor blades carving out reality one note at a time.
Coverdale wasn't the best, but he was a real legend. Mercury and Plant were the best frontmen in my opinion.
Gotta mention Dio as well.
@@ledzeppelinthekingsofheavy7282 Agree ! Plant was a better live singer , in his prime . Coverdale has a great voice .. but wasn't the best live .
This is one BAD-ASS Whitesnake jam!!!!!
HELL YEAH!!! This is my FAVORITE by Whitesnake!!!
This song kicks ass! Coverdale rules....oh and so does Steve Vai

This is the best effort from Whitesnake. Steve Vai's guitar puts this one in another league.

Join a great singer and a great guitar player, the result is a great song
