My father was in the hospital, in advanced stages of Alzheimer’s, in literally the last hours of his life. My brother called Mom to check in on them . . .
Mom: “Well, Dad’s been fairly unresponsive today. I’m sitting here reading, and he’s just laying in bed.”
    Dad [without opening eyes]: “Lying.”
We miss him terribly, but I still crack up every time I remember this.

Make a nice day. Rather than "have a nice day" which implies that it randomly comes your way, there's nothing you can do about it, catch it if you can, and nobody is listening anyway.
Make a nice day reminds us that we have the power to make for ourselves a nice day. It reminds us that we can make the day nicer for other people. It reminds me that commenting on comments in a Ewetub video is not profound. (Back, Darkness! Back!)
Someone smiled at you, and your heart giggled. Thank you for passing it on.

I laughed when she said marriages last long when the men don't speak. Until I realized my parents have been married nearly 35 years and my dad is the most quiet, non confrontational person I know. So she has a point 😂

That's why men don't want to get married anymore. A lot of women think it's funny, but it's just sad to see as a man.

It can be true. What she said was some wisdom I picked up and really a revelation that if you don't speak that the woman will assume you don't have a differing opinion. If you are married to a woman with borderline personality traits then you are married to someone that if you disagree with their opinion they take that as "you don't love me". It is a strange phenomenon. Also, in proverbs there is a verse that says, "even a fool is considered wise if he keeps his mouth shut". Something like that. But it is true. The more you give a woman the more some of them will eventually be unimpressed or just simply tired of you. That's why the strong silent type of man is the most desirable.

I love my husband and value his opinions. Sometimes though their impulsiveness keeps them from really seeing the long term. A lot of dudes get rubbed the wrong way by the idea that they should be quieter but they literally live happier, cleaner, healthier lives with us. Like when y'all were loud and single you could t manage to stay stocked up on dishes or toilet paper now you eat good and things smell nice. Just be quiet 😂

    • @knifeyonline
      @knifeyonline 3 роки тому +34

@@anarchist_parable they would also live happier healthier lives with you if they weren't punished for talking though. You're basically saying, being punished and having to repress who you are to be with a fragile creature is better than being alone lol. So basically, you're saying a womans effect in a man's life is better than a void... you literally couldn't set the bar lower and still exist.

I realized that I wasn't old, when a 72 year old doctor I knew, told us he wanted to get home, so he could get a few hours sleep before he got up at 5 a.m. to go flying in his glider. Then he had a tee off time at 2 p.m. that afternoon. After he left, we realized that at 72, he was younger than we were..... and we were in our thirties. You're not old until you start acting like you are.

    • For “young” people: When you wait for your life to start, your life has already started.
    • No matter whether you are “old” or “young”, be present, live the life now, appreciate it, enjoy it, instead of moaning about the loss of youth or longing for the excitement of future.
    • I realized this recently when I happened to browse some ten-year old pictures. I was surprised that I was younger, slimmer, and better looking. I started to feel quite depressed. Then a light bulb moment happened: I realized that I am only getting older. Instead of pining over the younger, slimmer, better looking version of myself and feeling depressed after another ten years, I should realize that NOW I am this better version than the ten-year later version, so I should appreciate it now.

One of the things I have found is that people who aren't in relationships tend to think more. Not saying we're smarter, but that more cognition is happening. If ya write it down, you can build on it, and when you see it all in one pile it looks amazing. Never mind it took a couple of years of rewrites to make a half hour of dialog. 300,000 people have watched this so far. A half hour times 300,000 equals 150,000 hours. 150,000 hours is 6,250 days. That works out to seventeen years. Which means I'm not in a relationship either.

And then there's screaming fits over, well, it's hard to tell what a teenage girl is upset about; mostly she's just upset and you're there. "I feed you, I clothe you, I shelter you, I protect you, and you're mad at me? What are you? A woman in training?" And my ex is yelling at me, "don't harass my daughter!"

my desktop background is a picture of "IC443" the "jellyfish nebula" which is a supernova-remnant (the leftovers of an exploded star), that i took myself after spending hours in the freezing cold at night.. such images to me illustrate how small our planet and solar system - and humanity in general - is in the course of time and space, and how all of our biggest problems, actually don't matter at all in the grand scheme of things.. so i learned to just enjoy my time here and try to be happy and not take life (and myself) too seriously, because we're not getting out alive anyways :)

Erica, I stopped this video, just in case I die in the next three minutes and didn’t get to compliment you. You already know that you are amazingly brilliant!!! 😉
I don’t think I’ve ever said that to a comedian, not that that is some type of new measurement scale I am applying. 😊You are like a complex puzzle that, at first seems to be missing some of the pieces. But, you always show me the pieces by the end, or after the end…even if my brain made some left turns and
U-turns to get there. I realized that it might’ve been me that was “missing the pieces in my life” (not a hidden message there) at the beginning of the joke. You’re awesome‼️ …Going through some tough stuff right now, and I needed a really good quality
laughing-self-care evening, not just some stupid drivel that many comedians want to force feed us with. You’re like the Renaissance Period all over again, when you bring us into your world and listening and laughing seems so fresh and new again.
Best wishes always… Erica❤ and Thanks!!!
(Now, I can’t wait to watch the rest of this video.🎉)

Erica, Very.. very good delivery and content!! ;) What makes a lot of it so funny is the truth underling most of the subjects. BTW there will be thousands of eligible guys out there dying to get you down the isle! Keep up the good work of making people laugh and distracting us from our troubled lives. Thank-you :)

Super clever and funny. Touched on the whole 'women vs men' stereotype of female comics, but didn't linger on it and really delivered some general, relatable comedy. Thoroughly enjoyed this set. Absolutely worth the watch.

I find it interesting when comics talk about "waiting for life to start". I realized during high school that the race of life was going to start soon because "everyone" was talking about college. It turns out that some people realized much earlier that the starting gun sounded. And while we all run our own race, there's no way to catch up to a peer who started running 10 years sooner. Find yourself, point yourself in a direction and begin your journey. Life isn't about waiting for life to happen. It's about living.

We all live different lengths and have different roads. Everyone is running a time trial and we aren't racing in a marathon.

You can catch up when you realize there are no rules, just mental handicaps.
My parents un-schooled me. I had a 4th grade equivalent education when I moved out of my parents house. It was a mentally destructive environment. Within 2 years I was earning $100,000 by working 72hrs, 6 days a week, $21/hr. Was not happy at that time, but I was on my own, and money was not an issue.
Now I see the path is to make money from various streams, all of which originate in my own creativity: Sell eBooks, develop businesses that can stand on their own feet. E.g. hire people smarter than me. And invest every penny I can squeeze out of my job and side gigs, and put money to work in tax-advantaged accounts such as 401(k), Self Directed IRA, etc.
Most people don't start doing this until their 30s, but I started at 21.
