The problem with reacting to El Estepario is that when you go and react to a different drummer, you realize that only Estepario can make your adrenaline pump. A legend in the making.
In his own words he doesn't need to be focused to play this. He said he practice watching the tv because he wants to be able to play hard songs even when he is distracted. Un grande el estepario.
The world's best musician and dancer Michael Jackson. His style of dancing and singing music never seems childish. He always sang music in deep voice, so his songs are hit and catchy. Moreover he always wrote teachable music. He was the only person in the world who performed dance-music together in front of live audience. May her soul rest in peace"🇧🇩🎵🎧🇧🇩
I didn't see any cuts. Pretty sure that was all one take. Now we don't know how many times he played that to get the take he wanted, but he got through that one pretty damn clean.
@@cliffoplaysdrums I disagreed with someone once regarding his talent. Something about "god given" or the like. I felt that was an insult. I think one might argue that a basic sense of rhythm is "inherited" somehow, but that's not what made Estepario what he is. No, that was years and years of brutal practice and drills and who-knows-what effort, likely every single day, for hours and hours each day, to reach his level of skill. You could also argue his particular use of that skill. He tends to over use it (IMO). But then I've never actually heard a recording he played on, only his UA-cams, which he crafts to show off his skills, not necessarily to create musical masterpieces. For me, having experienced what it takes to become a mediocre musician, I am most impressed with what I imagine he did to get here, not necessarily what he does in each video (which is unarguably absolutely incredible, of course).
@@MarkTubeG, good point as he does things equally well with either. Let's just say this: What hand does he grab the pen with to write with? Phil Mickelson plays golf left handed. He's right handed, throws the football with his right hand etc but... Learned golf facing his Dad and that "mirror image" is why to this day, he faces the "wrong way".
@@StillAProudAmerican-ll2yc I can imagine El Est forcing himself to write with either hand, eating with left at lunch and right with dinner, switch hitting, using his left foot to drive every other day, etc. Making an exercise to advance his drumming out of everything he does. Eats and sleeps it. Challenges himself every minute. Or not. Who knows? Does he ever make any videos about his process? I would find those very interesting.
I was interested myself, so I searched for. It’s Thriller (James Egbert Remix) but seems to be an edited version for El Esteparios Video. m.ua-cam.com/video/4GWoOlk8gYg/v-deo.html
I think he knows his audience and he knows what worksZ some of his more recent covers I’ve seen a bit more restraint. But this one, just just went for it. Very entertaining!
i play drums myself and yes he is very good at what he does but i like the groove more and you can show your a great drummer without having to literally overplay every single part of a song so dont get your panties in a twist over someone who has a personal opinion about his drumplay. @@StillAProudAmerican-ll2yc
bazrobinson, if you want a boring four-on-the-floor, go watch a high school band. So you see a guy in a new Vette doing burnouts and racing around the corners faster than any other car and YOU complain that he's not cruising at 64 mph in the mddle lane to see how comfortable that car is. You got a Corvette, don't drive it like Dad's driving the family to church, get on it. Same thing with EES, the Corvette. Overplay and overplay which is subjective anyway. EES, we know what you say about haters and practicing, heehee.
I hate saying....oh this guy or that guy is the greatest drummer ever...it's just disrespectful and impossible to say the GOAT. But with that said, I find it hard to see how this guy doesn't end up going down as one of the goats. He doesn't even look like he's trying, and almost looks bored. Losing sticks and still blazing through difficult songs. It's almost criminal how good he is, but an inspiration. And he shows you don't need some giant kit to be awesome. Be interested in seeing your take on Evgeny from Slaughter to Prevail....Hell and Zavali Ebalo live cams. He is ferocious and one of the top metal drummers.
Thanks for the recommendation! I always find GOAT claims difficult as a lot of it is subjective. And there’s different skills different people have. His clarity, speed and creativity are very good. Would love to hear some originals though with him playing

He’s certainly entertaining!
you get alpha-drummed .oO
All this is done in one take INCREDIBLE
In his own words he doesn't need to be focused to play this. He said he practice watching the tv because he wants to be able to play hard songs even when he is distracted. Un grande el estepario.
And he does this with just a kick, snare and floor tom 🤯
No substitute for hard work. His hand speed is unreal
Yeah, so if you take a look on the drum rolls he just move the fingers not the hands on.

That is a clap stack that he’s using! Those things are wild!
El Estepario's drumming is clearer than my future =)
Best drummer EVER !!!!
He is s superhuman.
Far & away above any drummer period
Folks we're watching history in the making! This cat is setting the bar at an impossible level! Neil Peart is looking down and thinking "Gawd damn!"
That kit is sick
It is a single take kinda thing, he just rerecords the video a million times if that's what it takes. Because this dude is just built different.
It looks like a Meinl BYZANCE Smack Stack. I think it's the 10/12/14" stack. His videos always make me want to pick up the sticks again.
Do it! You won’t regret it!

Unbelievable isn’t it. Practice. Makes. Perfect.

It's the Meinl Byzance Smack Tack, other brand that makes it is Istanbul which they name Clap Stack
The cymbal is a clap/smack stack cymbal.
Dude, you gotta watch him covering "The Pot" by TOOL and "Bleed" by Meshuggah (leading herta with his left foot while being a right-handed drummer 🤯)
Will check it out! Thanks for watching
I doubt very much he is any longer a leftie or a rightie.

Nice vid as usual!
Best on the planet. Prove me wrong
That curved triple stack cymbal is called a clap cymbal if you want to search for it.
Thanks for the info. And thanks for watching!
Would love it if you react to his cover of Dream Theater - Enemy Inside. That was insane and is about two years old!
Your wish is my command! Look out for it in the next few weeks!
@@cliffoplaysdrums Great! I think he also did a remake of it, but I mean the older one.
He has a video for Playing the hardest song my band plays or something like that.
Answering your question: it's the Meinl Byzance Vintage Smack Stack (other brands name it "Clap Stack" etc.)
Thanks for this. Thanks for watching!
You should react to el estepario siberiano gangnamn style
Thanks for the recommendation!
Top!!!
Check out his take on take on me, it’s my fav
I’ll check it out. Thanks for watching!
They're cymbals that have been ran through a roller
You should react to the August Burns Red drum playthroughs. Matt Greiner is amazing 👏
So much better than original..
It’s a clap stack cymbal
You should enjoy his shorts.
I’ve done a video on his one handed shorts, but I’ll check out more. Thanks for watching
I was interested myself, so I searched for.

m.ua-cam.com/video/4GWoOlk8gYg/v-deo.html
I wonder if he’s edited it to avoid the copyright claim? As I’ve noticed my reaction of this doesn’t have any copyright issues against it
It is a shortened version. It starts at 38 seconds of Egbert's remix and some parts are removed as well in the middle of the song; like a radio edit.

Hi. Check-out another ' muscle ' drummer = Nyango Star, of Japan, Another ' beast ' on a similar 3 piece kit. Fast, and spot-on......
Will check him out. Thanks for watching!
Clap stack
Only once, when he tried to duplicate Mario's solo from Gojira on first look
Pretty sure that's a clap stack that cymbal.
Ahhh haven’t seen one of those before! Thanks for the info and for watching
@@cliffoplaysdrums no worries man. I've seen a couple of your vids recently. Makes good watching. Thanks for uploading
Make a „Africa by Damien Schmitt“ reaction please 😊
He made a mistake on through the fire and flames
Fast doesn’t mean better, just like shredders are boring.
Very true, but I would say that what’s impressive is the speed + accuracy + creativity + production value that makes his content so great to watch
His chops are clean… so no, fast doesn’t mean better, but this is effortless and beautiful
he overplays everything which ruins it for me.
