Well, I'm dissapointed. Amazing sound, stunning visuals, but nothing more than just a short experience with a dissapointing ending and no questions answered, just what you could expect from a demo, not a game. Either I was too hyped, or it actually came out too incomplete...
I understand that in order to get the baby juice you have to take it out of its hash unit, but why do you have to place it in a bio-mobile armor which turn against yourself first? And the ending is sad too. We are so close to the goal what ever it is maybe some kind of connection with the collective consciousness but get killed by a parasite and die along the path. But it sure match the name of game.
The end is not the actual end because remember we wake up in the floor and bones! The prologue ended with goo and us getting trapped in a egg so my theory is that this is the past and the part we wake up in the floor with bones covering us and us crawling to something and our skin is very different it’s red and we’re thin in this our skin is normal! I feel like if the first couple seconds of the game are true scornguy is still alive
Hey I kinda have this theory of how to achieve another ending: At the end of the game, it took 2 person's weight to fully open the final gate(the shape of the plate on the ground clearly implied this), and the brain nerve is not long enough and limited the female robot's action so she couldn't carry you through the final portal. Remember that poor deformed egg-man early inthe game, who "lend you a hand" to open the first gate? What if you let him live instead of killing him? Will he somehow made it to the final gate and open it for you and carry you to the portal? If this is true by any chance, then the story will be much more dramastic, the guy you saved helped you opening the first and the last gate of the game. Did anyone tried this?
only issues i had with the game is the stutter between areas creates a strange motion blu for a sec . this really is a puzzle game with horror / body horror elements it feels other worldly like a nightmare on an alien planet.
This game is amazing enough to be well worth a watch with this LP. Zdzisław Beksiński has always been my favorite painter since I discovered his work, and I can see some things in this world that are like the developers just took one of his paintings and brought it to life. They did the aesthetic probably the best justice you could possibly do it in a videogame and that is something incredible. Though it has a lot of things that make it look like it's not fun at all, which horror games can do even if they make you uncomfortable. It has several minutes of a literal walking simulator, not just something that's being insulted by being called that. The same puzzles being used multiple times with no justification, like the same ones being more complicated as you progress. The combat also looks like it's just you have a gun that has the range of if you just punched instead and fighting most enemies just involves trying to side step their attack and hit them while your really slow attack rate catches up.
@@twentytwo138 lmao plus it's hard to write just 5 words about a game that the developers meant to leave entirely open to interpretation and is still remarkable even if it had some really negative aspects.

@@InnerRevolutionProject yeah you're right. This game totally doesn't make any sense . However someone told me that the pain worked like the adrenaline that's why he kept stabbing his body to allow him not to passed away .
When I realized that the (awful) shooting parts were much more frequent and annoying than I expected, I lost interest in the game, dropped it and watched the rest here. I'm very happy to have done that. What the hell was the sense of all this? I expected the game to shed some light on the overall mystery towards the end, but it just added more darkness to it.
This game really gets the feeling of living in a meanigless alien world full of unending agony and scorn for life. Its depressing and dissapointing, just like growing up in Serbia. Devs are serbs, so.
All those fascinated comments just approve that mostly world is braindead. Nothing more than a graphic novell. Its worthy if its demonstartion of a game engine. As a game or a story - it's empty. IMHO.
3? 4? Dude this guy did a ton of errors and he still beat it in under 3 (he shaved off some extra wandering but its still under 3). If you know what do do, don't be stupid, and avoid half the fights (which you CAN do) its under 2 hours. He literally didn't find nor use one of the guns and fought nearly everything, also played with a controller which makes turns horridly slow, thus making both navigation and combat slower.
I think this game looks amazing because of the hellish atmosphere and the hostile looking environment, it makes the player feel creeped out all the time. However I think the gameplay is a bit weak, the combat is slow and I hate the fetus in a mech boss fight. Also the puzzles are completely boring. I expected there to be spatial puzzles that involves doors, switches, that kind of stuff similar to Portal. I'm quite disappointed when most of the puzzles are in 2D such as the "unblock me" puzzle at the beginning. But ultimately I still recommend this game because the art is so creative and it is a unique experience.
7 years for a massive pile of disappointment. I was so excited for this game too, but barely 3 hours of playtime for lackluster gameplay and a bad ending is inexcusable.
Same, stuff like this has always been nightmare fuel for me but at the same time I can't look away. Dude the Akira scene still haunts my dreams some times. I will say though the alpha looked way more grotesque largely due to a brighter atmosphere with less saturation, though this looks more realistic or just artistically a better choice. Now I just need the dev team to tell me WTF is the story behind everything. Only thing I read is large themes about cycle of life and death, some articled linked it to parenthood, other a bit more black and white with the Flesh being invasive virus like as the parasite seems to be nurishing itself off of the protagnist. I want to know what was beyond the gates, and damnit as much as I love somber endings... this one ruined me lol partly depressed and angry....
@@Aequitas887 from other comments it seems that this is a repeating cycle. The protagonist will always try to get out beyond this place but the parasite will want to keep him because he's the only host available.
When the game was on Kickstarter they were very adamant about it only being the two halves (which got condensed into one game when Microsoft bought it as a timed exclusive) and then "Nothing more. Ever." so a sequel is super unlikely unless Microsoft gets pissed and wants a better return on their investment.

@@IDarkCalibur yep but after seeing the game review I am disappointed the game has good horror epic gore but no guns until after playing for about 1hr and storyline is very confusing and I think the ending suggest it is a loop for every scorn guy who died or unless we get a sequel the story will remain unclear.
Disturbing and old school experience (no map, hud, indicator, storytelling)... This is like bright memory infinite, first product of a newborn studio made by few people. It's far from perfect but it's a super interesting beginning.
I've been wondering if theres something in this game that you can do diffrently, like exploring the external part walking to different directions, or trying to giving your back so that acid attacks hit on the parasite I dont know, there is something on that game that tells me that there is something more.
For a game we waited years for the trailor shows way more combat than this has and honestly most people are let down idk what these creators don't get we don't mind puzzles but a 85% puzzle game with 5% combat and 10% walking around empty spaces this games a flop
@@tylercrain2831 to be honest I'm disappointed I was so hyped about scorn with trailers from years ago... I literally forgot all about the game and just assumed it got canceled, until like a few days ago I seen it was releaseing on the 14th. I pre-ordered on steam and now watching a playthough to get through the game because I hate puzzle games lol. I'm not mad at the devs and it's my own fault for not doing research on what the game is and was going to be. The game has the atmosphere to be one of the most bad@$$ sci-fi shooters of all time and it's..... it's well something... I dunno feel like they missed a huge opportunity to make it into gaming history books. I honestly thought it was going to be like the original prey gameplay wise. Oh well. The atmosphere and art design and creativity was worth the money to experience it.
Looks like some kind of advanced biological-based civilization that for unknown reason seems to have wiped out themselves with this technology. They seems to have developed those parasitic predators purposely to feed of these kinda human-like creatures. It looks obvious that the whole world was subjugated by this parasite and everyone is long time dead. In the end it looks like there's a some sort of hope of salvation after those mystical gates, maybe some form of ecm based field that keeps away those creatures? Dunno. But it seems to represent salvation. The planet itself looks totally devoid of life and pretty much inhospitable. Probably due to this parasite. So, since that form that is parasiting our character can't do that (probably) it's reasonable to say that the true face of this parasite is made out of multiple forms and the real common ground between these is at a genetical level. Probably even those lesser creatures that the player have to fight sometimes are part of it or consequence of mutations to local fauna. This whole thing have the same vibes of those warnings about don't play with nuclear technology. But in a scale far more creepy. I like it. Maybe I can come out with a faction for Stellaris. 🤔 Since these creatures have no mouth, it's possible that they communicate in other ways, maybe telepathy. So it could possibly be that this civilization was a sort of large "hive" with a single mind to direct them while they still kept little individualism and ability to act by themselves as individuals. This could explain why the characters still moves despite the absence of everyone else. I frankly doubt that these creatures was like us. If they was like us, they would have had similar mindset... and until now I think we refuse to go such deep into genetic and biological technology. By the way, the absence of a overmind could also explain why there's a total lack of knowledge about this world. And moreover it is familiar to the concepts exposed by Giger. 🤔 Kinda cool.
visuals are amazing, I love the gore and the visceral interaction, everything is so painful and fleshy, really gets under your skin and makes you feel very uncomfortable I love it, I've never had a game make me feel like that. But that ending, disappointing, I think that will put people off unless it has DLC additions.
I'm a sucker for bodyhorror, biotech and copious amounts of fan disservice, and the Giger-esque style is all about that. However, I agree with you regarding the ending. It is an indie project, so it being short is not a problem in itself. That it is priced so high, however, is. I'd say that at 50% off, this game would have gone over far better. I have heard that there is supposedly a DLC coming, and I guess we'll be playing whatever's coming out of that chrysalis, and it might end up a more satisfying conclusion. But as it is now, it's just too expensive for what it's offering, gorgeous though it may be.
I have no idea what do do. I know to much tips and tutorials does not accompanies the athmoshpere of this game. But still game designers need to guide the player throughout the game in some way or another.
That damn begining puzzle took me two hours, which I looked it up online at the end. If I didn't wasted time with that I would have nearly finished the game.
That's because both The Engineer ship and aliens were H.R Geiger's aesthetic design, and this game's actual mission statement was to use Geiger's aesthetic.
Yeah I thought that was weird. In the beginning when he emerges from that tangled mess he seems to have rotten teeth and exposed mouth, but in the end his mouth is covered up with flesh!
i couldnt stop watching this... it all seems so real.... it feels like its Prometheus the video game. the art and design... this game is .1 from being a perfect 10. i hope we get much more of this or more from the team that made this. the imagination that made this, must be some real sick puppies. theres so much about this game that no one really does in games. like how in the beginning everything seemed really xeno-themed, but as you progress the xeno was blended with bio then you see more xeno-bio theme together with bio-mech theme starting to take over. for part of this game the theme was xeno-bio-mech, ive never seen this done like this. dead space is a mother goose nursery rhyme compared to this. i wouldnt be surprised if this game made even h.r. gieger throw up a lil in his mouth. then towards the end while your transformation has become "permanent" the theme changed from bio-mech to bio-mech-terra theme. so many themes never done so well. i do belive that this game will be more inspiration to sureal horror-esq survival games than hollow knight inspires amazing metroidvanias... this is peak modern 4th gen rtx for ya. thank you for all that youve done for gaming ,and cuda core library nividia. 9080 super will be holo-deck of star trek.... 5 gens to go till full digital human immersion with all 5 senses and zero deaths. immortal digital humans is less than 50 years away.

Well, I'm dissapointed. Amazing sound, stunning visuals, but nothing more than just a short experience with a dissapointing ending and no questions answered, just what you could expect from a demo, not a game. Either I was too hyped, or it actually came out too incomplete...
They're making a dlc so they can milk even more money from it
felt like it was a demo too
Don’t talk until you have developed a game
@@akazanaoyasu2268 I don’t have the right to express my opinion and give my review of a game, until I develop one myself? Interesting…
@@gibonbich you do, I’m just saying you don’t know how hard it is to develop a game with this quality graphics
I'm surprised you missed the second weapon, but still managed to finish the game.
The white fuel mutated the first scorn guy into this kind of parasite.

Thanks pal
this whole game and aesthetics make me think of TOOL’s music videos

Also hands: need HP lemme use hands
Im Suprised this game was only 2 hours. I was expecting it a 6 hour game. But hey, I'm glad the game is fully finished
Hense why it is not an $80 game and is $50
When you play it, it takes way longer. A lot of times I didn't know what I was supposed to do...and spent a lot of time exploring.
@@sinofren8406 50$ is still much, especially for eastern europe standards.... like its just 2 hours....
@@ChochoLevi oooooh, that's some stuff I wanted to hear. Hm, it'll be worth the journey then!
@@sinofren8406 I didn't know that. Good on it only being 50.
Hey I kinda have this theory of how to achieve another ending:
At the end of the game, it took 2 person's weight to fully open the final gate(the shape of the plate on the ground clearly implied this), and the brain nerve is not long enough and limited the female robot's action so she couldn't carry you through the final portal.
Can't wait for game theories to come out about this game. It's left me with so many questions that i literally don't think i can sleep tonight
only issues i had with the game is the stutter between areas creates a strange motion blu for a sec . this really is a puzzle game with horror / body horror elements it feels other worldly like a nightmare on an alien planet.
The combat also looks like it's just you have a gun that has the range of if you just punched instead and fighting most enemies just involves trying to side step their attack and hit them while your really slow attack rate catches up.
the gun problem is actually cus he missed them, a lot XD
no ones reading that essay
It's more Giger that Beksinski, honestly
@@coldnightmare199 It's really not that long.. You should learn how to read, develop your brain a little bit
@@twentytwo138 lmao plus it's hard to write just 5 words about a game that the developers meant to leave entirely open to interpretation and is still remarkable even if it had some really negative aspects.
Thx for the walktrough !
awesome game :) I like the H.R. Giger vibes .... biomechanical devices of unknown purpose^^
the atmosphere of this game is stunning
what a great "game". it gave me a H.R. Giger feeling...gameplay was a bit soft for me. expected a little more, but the graphics...WOW..they blow my mind. the attention for detail, even the wet look from some fleshparts..amazing..thanx for this walkthrough..it was quite a journey..

I really like this game it's mysterious and deep. But I don't like the ending, I really wished a good end for him he suffered so much from this parasite. But what I didn't understand is that why he kept stabbing his body with that knife in 2:33:56 ?
that's the only thing you did not understand? :D
But yeah, I was also pretty confused about that too.
@@InnerRevolutionProject yeah you're right. This game totally doesn't make any sense . However someone told me that the pain worked like the adrenaline that's why he kept stabbing his body to allow him not to passed away .
@@NeoV4ndole it's actually "door to immortality or heaven " according to an opinion of a youtuber:) but it makes sense somehow!
Commend this man for putting no ads in the entire video
IMHO.
This game is about 4 hours.
But, if you know what to do, it’s less than 3.
Kept us waiting since 2014.
But: it’s better than AGONY.
@@mkzhero HEY NINNY - that's EXACTLY WHAT I SAID.
LESS THAN 3 means ANYTHING FROM 0 - 3
Next time you want to make a STUPID FKING COMMENT, DON'T.
This game is a 10 out of 10. Best 1st person shooter ever.
More of a quest than a shooter, really… Like, a quest with bits of shooting here and there, to add spice.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I wish people had a base for theirs...
All that struggle just to catch a glimpse of paradise
Thanks for video...i waited so much...
What a crazy game! Wow… that ending leaves me feeling scornful.
"It's scorning time."
- Scorn-man from Scorn
7 years for a massive pile of disappointment. I was so excited for this game too, but barely 3 hours of playtime for lackluster gameplay and a bad ending is inexcusable.
I don't know why but this game terrifies me because of the grotesque stuff. But it's amazing
This game is very disappointing, a huge let down to say the least. I didn't wait 6 years and spent 44 dollars for a 2 hour game
thats was the goal btw :D
@@ka-boom2083 then you should have waited for a discount or waited to see a video like this to know how many hours it takes to complete it
Same, stuff like this has always been nightmare fuel for me but at the same time I can't look away.

I feel sad at the ending :(
I hope there will be part 2 of this game
I don't think there are happy endings on this biomechanical-grimdark universe.
When the game was on Kickstarter they were very adamant about it only being the two halves (which got condensed into one game when Microsoft bought it as a timed exclusive) and then "Nothing more. Ever." so a sequel is super unlikely unless Microsoft gets pissed and wants a better return on their investment.
@@Drakith90 When people were asking in twitter they kinda vaguely hinted the might do more. Lets hope they do.
This game kept us wating similar to visage and Madison which upon release in 2020 and 2022 got critical acclaim and is in top 3 horror games ever played even mortuary assistant is not in top 3 but will be definately in top ten sometime although I am happy it is getting an movie adaptation but I hope SCORN will be worth the wait .
i’m glad this game is not adapted into a movie 😅
@@IDarkCalibur yep but after seeing the game review I am disappointed the game has good horror epic gore but no guns until after playing for about 1hr and storyline is very confusing and I think the ending suggest it is a loop for every scorn guy who died or unless we get a sequel the story will remain unclear.
you're gona be disappointed
Disturbing and old school experience (no map, hud, indicator, storytelling)... This is like bright memory infinite, first product of a newborn studio made by few people. It's far from perfect but it's a super interesting beginning.
Someone was kneed eep in H. R. Giger's art and style. This artwork is amazing!
I've been wondering if theres something in this game that you can do diffrently, like exploring the external part walking to different directions, or trying to giving your back so that acid attacks hit on the parasite I dont know, there is something on that game that tells me that there is something more.
there isn't they really wasted 8 years of development just for 2 hours of gameplay

Yeesh how long we waited for this one...
For a game many were waiting for years, it has a short playtime.
Well if it wasn't for playthroughs it might take me 100 hours lol. Because I couldn't even get past the 1st puzzle. Wondering around for over an hour.
@@shortyorc121 same here lol. I hate these kind of puzzles
But what it makes up for that is its world design and creativity
For a game we waited years for the trailor shows way more combat than this has and honestly most people are let down idk what these creators don't get we don't mind puzzles but a 85% puzzle game with 5% combat and 10% walking around empty spaces this games a flop
@@tylercrain2831 to be honest I'm disappointed I was so hyped about scorn with trailers from years ago...
Back in the 1970s Emerson Lake and Palmer did an album called Brain Salad Surgery, the artwork on the cover reminds me of the artwork in this game
All that work to end up like that? This game needs more explanation then the alien saga.
I think he’s stuck in a time loop
Since these creatures have no mouth, it's possible that they communicate in other ways, maybe telepathy.
Kinda cool.
After completed the game, I asked myself "What the f*ck did i just play"
good for you
visuals are amazing, I love the gore and the visceral interaction, everything is so painful and fleshy, really gets under your skin and makes you feel very uncomfortable I love it, I've never had a game make me feel like that.
I actually really liked the ending, tells a lot of how the entire place got so currupted in the first place
You should play INSIDE.

One of the most disturbing game I have ever seen. Puzzles are hard, Maze and enemy's are tough. Weapon is to weak. Makes the game great.
I have no idea what do do. I know to much tips and tutorials does not accompanies the athmoshpere of this game. But still game designers need to guide the player throughout the game in some way or another.

The Gamedev we didn't deserve
That damn begining puzzle took me two hours, which I looked it up online at the end. If I didn't wasted time with that I would have nearly finished the game.
The design reminds me so much of "The Engineers" ship from Alien and Prometheus movies.
That's because both The Engineer ship and aliens were H.R Geiger's aesthetic design, and this game's actual mission statement was to use Geiger's aesthetic.

i couldnt stop watching this... it all seems so real.... it feels like its Prometheus the video game. the art and design... this game is .1 from being a perfect 10. i hope we get much more of this or more from the team that made this. the imagination that made this, must be some real sick puppies. theres so much about this game that no one really does in games. like how in the beginning everything seemed really xeno-themed, but as you progress the xeno was blended with bio then you see more xeno-bio theme together with bio-mech theme starting to take over. for part of this game the theme was xeno-bio-mech, ive never seen this done like this. dead space is a mother goose nursery rhyme compared to this. i wouldnt be surprised if this game made even h.r. gieger throw up a lil in his mouth. then towards the end while your transformation has become "permanent" the theme changed from bio-mech to bio-mech-terra theme. so many themes never done so well. i do belive that this game will be more inspiration to sureal horror-esq survival games than hollow knight inspires amazing metroidvanias... this is peak modern 4th gen rtx for ya. thank you for all that youve done for gaming ,and cuda core library nividia. 9080 super will be holo-deck of star trek.... 5 gens to go till full digital human immersion with all 5 senses and zero deaths. immortal digital humans is less than 50 years away.
