John Otto....The MOST underrated drummer in music today..and yes..LimpBizkit is more relevant now than ever before. John is such a good drummer and my background lends me the ability to say so. I've seen Buddy Rich in '77 again in '78, many jazz artist drummers, fallowed John Bonham, Ginger Baker, Lucky Layer (Circle JerKs), Dave Grohl, Tre kool and many others and I'm here to say and I'm going out telling everyone about this band live, John Otto is one of the best drummers in the game today. Watch his drumming from behind the kit UA-cam videos and you'll see what I mean. Totally in the pocket, hesitations and attack like none other. Never paid attention to them until I saw the 2021 Lollapalooza Chicago show on UA-cam and was blown away. Can't believe an old punk rock guy from the day would say it but I Love LimpBizkit. Because they fu*king kick ass live.
without otto, no Limp bizkit!!!! thats for sure. he´s drum Sound is so unique....especially he´s snare sound, and he´s groove with the ghost notes.....I love this guy!!! he changed my life with he´s drumming...the only question what i have is, why he is not on tour with limp now ?
It's always nice to hear from John Otto a reserved and kind guy. I met him Sam, & Fred almost 10 years ago and they were all really cool and down to earth guys. I started playing the drums lately and I might not have dialed into rock & metal if it weren't for bands like LB, Saliva, Korn, Nullset, Linkin Park, etc. I've been playing drums for a week and I'm somehow really good already. I know I'm tooting my own horn now but this is after years of trying to learn bass & electric guitar and failing. I also know how to DJ on turntables which is fun but the drums are my favorite now!
Great Interview! John’s a great drummer and all around guy. I’m a bit biased as John is my cousin. He’s such a talented musician and has a phenomenal work ethic. Was delighted to see this interview.
I'm an amateur drummer now at age of 35, picked up drums at the age of 12 and John Otto was one of my biggest influences (and ofc still is to this date) besides greats like Joey Jordison, (a bit unfortunately) Mushroomheads Skinny and other groovy nu metal drummers, David Silveria was naturally one but his life went on other direction kinda too. I always have great respect for the dude and honestly this interview got me a bit teared up of how down to earth real artist and a great drum mentor John Otto is. All the best for the lb, you and your family man, live long and teach a lot of new generation kids to play kickass music.
I'd buy a home for my family with a studio for myself and set up a recording label and write songs with all my time and release and promote and spend time putting in more work than i can now as im working and paying rent to keep a roof over my head and my fiancee and kids heads. Id help lots of young artists get a kickstart in their careers. I'd also get a team together by paying my friends to who are really talented musicians and filmmakers and I guess use all our talents to build a name for ourselves and like me They have family's. A life were we could give up our jobs and get money by doing what we love would be all we need and we'd never have an excuse to not turning our passions into our bread and butter.
I would have built an animal shelter. because we have no normal shelters and government program for abandoned cats/dogs and other animals in fkn russia
John Otto is one of the most distinctive drummers in the genre. A massive inspiration for millions of musicians.
The best drummer, no one shakes music like he does.

Otto is a beast on drums. I have always liked his drumming style. "ROCK DYNAMIC TIGHT!"
