In this first episode, we sit down with Mike Barkis as he tells us how he turned this parts car into a winter beater! Nicknamed the "Ikea Car," Mike bought this as a parts car up in Maine, but some of his plans had to change. Watch todays episode to find out more on this car as well as Mike's story as a B5 S4 owner!

Owned my PES supercharged 2.4 v6 for over 15 years. I just love how it drives it's been in storage for 8 years now due to numerous reasons hopefully back on the road this summer.

I had a 2000 VW 1.8t with the Audi tune. Very fun car, got crushed by hurricane Charlie, one month after my last payment.

Very nice. My classmate in high school got the B5 S4 new as a first car which was wild, i had a 92 Jetta which I loved. Now with a B5 2.8 Quattro 5 speed and just hit 21k miles on it. What a smooth car it is, no snow tires just all season radials.
Hard to find these older a4 s4. Love them

The hood is a Prefacelift. I have a 1.9 tdi AFN quattro avant and it goes through snow like it's nothing

My B5 S4 is sitting inside the garage, like always haha. But it's in mint condition even tho it has 374K kms on it.
I like these "vintage" Audis, but not as a beater, more like a nice car

Yea I just can’t bring myself to driving my noggy in the snow since there’s so much salt they put down. I know I would be a blast making 450/475 in the snow but it’s not worth rusting it out.
Man I’m always so mad when they first put down salt cuz then I can’t drive my s4. I don’t feel like ruing it and letting it rust out but damn it would be an amazing car for the winter. Maybe I should buy a cheap auto for winter. Funny enough my nogaro s4 is also on the 8th owner (me). But it’s still in decent condition and paint is good. It’s been repainted tho. Full stage 3 with hybrid rs6 turbos and e85.

Had a 03 GTI 1.8t 20th anniversary. Great car but the family outgrew it.
I owned a Audi A4 B5 metallic silver for 9 years until i gave it up, after the transmission went for the 2nd time.
I have a special place for A5 B5's but i won't go back, being their parts are too expensive and mechanics charge too much to work on them. Not to mention, there's not a lot of mechanics that know HOW to work on them.
I had to threaten to sue one mechanic to pay for an oil change i had to get done at another mechanic, because the first repair shop, didn't change the moon seal!
I told the mechanic , he didn't change the moon seal and he claimed there wasn't one! I brought it to another mechanic that works on Audi's and he changed the moon seal and told me to go back to the first shop and ask for my money back!
He wrote a check for 1K after i threaten to sue him! But i have some fond memories of the A4 B5, thought! I nicked named her, "Audina" lol
I knew more about my B5 than the average mechanic. I did change the brake pants and eventually started changing the oil myself. Changed pretty much everything i could get at myself.

Hey ECS I bought the same wheels on this B5 s4 for my a3 for a set of winter wheels, issue is, they did not come with the center caps, do you carry them in your store?

In 2000s there was only one good Audi in terms of "not falling apart in rain". That was Audi A8,A8l, S8. D1 body style.
A4/S4, A6 used to have time of issues.
What does that even mean?
So what part of the car had been 'built' then?
So this series is meant to highlight the other side of being an enthusiast as well as the other cars they own. While this specific car isn't necessarily "built," it still carries on this owners passion for building cars. The name is simply just the series name as well as the format these episodes are shot.
