- I think I found the perfect new home in South Africa! Its been a month since moving to South Africa and the house hunt continues here in Johannesburg! Today, I tour 3 new luxury apartments in this video ranging from $1,000-$1,300 usd / R 20,000 - R 25,000. Let me know what you think and if its worth the price OR should I keep looking?

I wanted to say the same thing. He genuinely looks more happier when he's in SA. I watched when he was in Brazil and he looked very down and he's a traveller so he's used to new adventures. But he really looked lost there, in SA he looks comfortable 😊

Basically the Northern Suburbs are great, safety, travel distance for daily needs like malls etc and will prevent isolation from friends due to distance.

I really think you can find something better for that amount honestly. R25000 is someone's salary in South Africa and people live in great places that go for half the price. Keep looking, Julian.
That penthouse is definitely worth that money or money, you can always find something cheaper but it won’t be the same thing.

I am showing my wife these videos ASAP. We pay $2500 for a 3bedroom in Damn corn fed Nebraska. I know we can work and pay this amount. I love the light in the 3bedroom. The view. The airiness of the place. Its so beautiful. Thank you for letting us see these apartments. Honestly these apartments are worth the wait in the heat LOL and her being late. I like both of them but the 3 bedroom was beautiful... SA you are life.

I just want to bring context, $2500 is a serious salary in South Africa ZAR46000 per month going to rent is diabolical. 3 Bed is literally about R9000 to R12000 in South Africa. At most R20000 in a luxurious estate. The devil is liar.

To think I'm paying $2000 for a shoebox size apartment with no views in Boston makes me want to move back to South Africa. Julian continue your search, I think you can find an equally stunning apartment in a more convenient location like Rosebank and surrounding suburbs. Good luck...

Edenvale is Tyla`s suburb .Not far from where you are though .Closer to Eastgate and Bedfordview.
I really liked the three-bedroom one; it was spacious, Airy, and a great place to entertain

The 3 bedroom apartment is Gorgeous! But! Sometimes we’ve to stay within our budget. I’m pretty sure you’ll make the right choice 💜💜💜
Three looks like it would be the most comfortable. The one air vent in the second home is going to be terrible at night when you’re trying to sleep. Unless you buy a fan for your room.
Julian, try looking in Sunninghill and Rivonia, Paulshoff, lone hill, i think those areas would suit you perfectly ❤

@JulianAlbino Hey Julian. These are good recommendations as they are more central as well as Waterfall which is where the Mall of Africa is. You can also check out Woodmead which is next to Sunninghill. All the best!

@julianAlbino the places looks nice however please consider the places they recommend on this particular commet because (Bedford&l eastgate side) I've experienced a whole lot of mugging especially when you like to take walks. Please keep that in mind.

First of all the skin! Whatever you are using , keep using it. The 3 bedroom looks really awesome. It's all about the space and the light , I must mention the double volume windows...I die for. You spoke about the house in Edenvale, it might be great and stuff but you have to consider security unless it's in an estate. What's nice about Edenvale is that, it's central to literally everything Sandton , Eastgate etc. Good luck on your home search!

Go for this one, the South is far much cheaper in everything than the North. You have all the shopping malls snd resturants just across. Thats a gem.
The 25k is best. The reason you think is hot is because all the windows are closed if you open them up it will be cool very quickly because it’s a really high so you get stronger cooler winds up there.
If you considering the 2 Bed, its also good the reason it feels dark is because it has curtains. If you open up the curtains it will be brighter.

Definitely the last one, it's the perfect size - I don't know it's worth paying a bit more for just some natural sunlight - especially if it's not in the bathrooms. Also the color palette on Home #3 is amazing, I love neutrals - plus side it looks ready for move in.

Hi, home 2 is lovely, you can inquire about installing air conditioning during summer. That will help with the heat❤
i like the 3 bedroom duplex. Be sure you have them run the air and see if it cools down
Edenvale is far from Rosebank and Sandton, it on the East of Joburg. The biggest mall close by is Greenstone shopping center and Stoneridge. Eastgate shopping center is also close by.

Whenever I’m looking for a place I’m always excited to see a place that is newly furnished and that 3 bedroom penthouse is everything; great lighting plus the bathroom has both a shower and a bath tube plus the washer, dryer and fridge to top it off..👌🏾

I think the two bedroom is darker because it has drapes up and dark colored drapes at that.
That’s a good point. I’d take those drapes down and leave the sheer curtains up .

The first one is everything, lol but I would have to invest in a moped or something because that was way too nice, the weather is probably better because of elevation and never no traffic and the no shedding part... Def sleep on that!

Hey Julian in the three bedroom apartment that one AC unit it will take a long time to heat and cool the unit, but it will work. Also, you will have to keep it running to keep it at the right temperature, but if you have a thermostat, you can control the temperature in that unit which then you can control the electricity bill also,
Very true. You brought up a good point about the thermostat. But I think it’s controlled my a remote. I had a similar AC system when I lived in Mexico . Yea, it will for sure take a long time to heat & cool such a big space aka high electricity bill lol

The 2nd one is so gorgeous but my love R25 000 is a lot of money my word! Keep looking. Also my advise, look for something cozy and beautiful, you live by yourself, I don’t think you need a big place like why? You can get a nice place for like R15 000 at least I’m sure if you keep looking. Love you so much ❤😊
Kensington Bedfordview is way out of the way for you. Stick to the northern suburbs and check out the Gautrain and Gautrain bus routes. In eastern suburbs, you will definitely need a car. The best apartments were Hillbrow and Berea but that's a no-go zone nowadays. The old Houghton area will have old style luxury apartments. If Houghton is good enough for Nelson Mandela, then it's good enough for you... 🤣
try looking in the westrand in ruimsig specifically , i think you might find something cute

I like #3 for only $1,080. Plus, #2 give off that yellow light affect, even with the natural sunlight… Probably because the kitchen is a light brown and not gray.
pick # 2 you will be happy that you did.
I am a property manager. The penthouse for the win with that view. However you need to figure out the air conditioning situation. The glass will make it warm for sure and you know that heat rises. The 2br is not a bad option if you can’t find anything else. If it is not checking your the keep looking.

pick 3rd apt.. the price is great.. you save $300 a month...But lets talk about how beautiful your skin looks.....
Waterfall and kyalami has some nice apartments , everything that you need it’s in close proximity such as grocery shops , gym and restaurants ….. polofields estate , the precinct in waterfall … even a house within the estates in midrand would be around the your price range or even less but got amazing places. Also close to mall of Africa and gautrain to get around if you want to visit your friends in rosebank or sandton.
