I am just 14 and i want to become a fashion designer, thanks to you i can finally make my first dress , i will come back here after making it and tell everyone about it
I have a stiff floral fabric and I didn't know what I could do with it and now I'm definitely making this dress! Thanks so much for the video! You explain everything so well
Stunning! I just LOVE the way those giant box pleats look. I think that's the look I'll go for on the new skirt I started last week. Little tip! It's always always ALWAYS easier to hem your skirt BEFORE you do any pleating or gathering or anything! I always hem my skirts and dresses when it's still just a flat rectangle of fabric, and it makes my life so much easier.
I can’t wait to make this! I love how simple yet elegant it is, with the right fabric it’ll be such a versatile piece. Your videos are always so clear too, it makes sewing so accessible 💞
So excited for this new series!! I keep rewatching the prom dress videos because they’re really comforting, and I love your editing style. New videos to add into the loop are very appreciated ❤️
Also that idea of making dresses for events you either don't want to go or will never go, is just GENIUS!😍😳🔥 I have always wanted to make something very dramatic like a copy/replica of the dress from a certain period painting!😍😍😍😍😎😏🔥Suck approach can keep you creative!☝🏻😍😳💁🏻♀️🔥🔥🔥💪🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
i just want to say that your videos are so clear and easy to follow! i love that you mention and explain the whole process and the little changes you make along the way. i used your strawberry dress video two years ago to help me make my first dress and i just keep coming back!
I am new to sewing clothes, so I have been doing my research. I have sewn up stuffed animals before, like teddy bears, ponys, 2 yard long horse monster thing, A life size ender man (about 9 or 10 feet), and more! I am planning on sewing a dress for myself, and I'm looking for tips and tricks! Tysm!!
great design and very well made. If I could offer a little tip for when you are stitching the pockets, I find it helpful to back stick a little before stitching the pocket lining together as this helps to re-enforce the junction as they generally get damaged after a bit of use.
Love all the detail you add to your videos,. Very easy to understand and so inspiring! Thanks for all the info. Your videos are such an inspiration to start sewing projects.
I don't know exactly what homecoming is, i guess it's a USA thing but you look lovely! What a cute dress, royal core vibes but also casual and the fabric choice, love it
It is a dance held at school early in the year usually to celebrate the football team. My school didn't have a football team, so we celebrated soccer. It would happen the same night as a home game (the last one of the season maybe?), and there would be all sorts of accolades given to the athletes and cheerleaders during the game followed by the dance in which there would be a "king" and "queen" announced. It's like prom lite.
@@SparkleFeyed our school has a football team, volleyball team, basketball teams, swimming team and lawn tennis team but we dont have homecoming :( we have smth else tho. Whenever collage interschools happen and they choose to do it inside our school, they put up foodstalls, tiny coffee shops, photo booths and such inside school area for the participants and we as curious school students would go there and buy stuff during recess and lunch break since it usually happens in school days. We were actually not allowed to but who on earth would miss such chances :D. And the people there never told the teachers cuz well, they got more money too😂
you make it look so easy!! I always struggle so much to find clothes that I like ... I always wanted to sew I think I really might have to buy a sewing machine!
I've never made anything to wear, I don't think I have the patience but I love your video and if I ever think of doing anything it is probably this dress with an easy fabric. I am saving this video
Watching your videos gets me really amped to sew something 😄 I haven't been to a Homecoming in just under 20 years, but I think I need to find a reason to make this dress 😍😍😍
I love this tutorial thank you so much! If I were to go about making the skirt longer would I just add length to the 23” on the left length side of the pattern pieces for the skirt, right?
Hi, I’m homeschooled, but we have a little formal event we do every year. I’m thinking about making this dress for it, and I wanted to ask a few questions, to see what I’m getting myself into. This will be the first real piece of clothing I have ever sewn. 1) What needle and thread would you recommend using? 2) Is Brocade an easy fabric to work with? 3) Is there anything else you would recommend for a beginner? This is a beautiful dress, and I would love to make it. Your video is clear and straightforward.
Wow, I was thinking that I was going to have to wait for the Pattern to arrive, it was instantaneous. Thank You so much. I didn't get this dress I pick a different one for my first in a long time. I have only made a few skirts and a dress. I am looking forward to making this dress and your others, just the kind of dresses I like. GOD BLESS!!! Amy
Hey ally! I am so glade I found your channel! I love you channel so much. I’ve been looking to a channel that gives detailed instructions for all the outfits I would love to learn to make.
I’ve been wanting to make some pretty dresses for a couple of years now. Someone gave me a bunch of fabric, and I also bought some with hopes I’d have a use for it. 😁Unfortunately it seems everyone wants to buy expensive dresses that many times aren’t even worth what they paid for it. So I’ll make at least 2 dresses, and if grandkids don’t want to wear them I’ll sell, or give them away.
hi! I absolutely love your tutorials, and I want to sew this dress!!! I was wondering, what is the seam allowance? I can't seem to find it in the video and also, if I buy your pattern, what would the measurements be for 00? I just want to make sure it fits nicely. Thank you!! And keep up the amazing work💕
Hi! I love your videos so much and I’m thinking of making this for fun, do you think you could show how to convert the pattern to perfectly fitted size?
the only thing i would change (besides making it XL or XXL lol) would be that the skirt would reach AT LEAST half of my knee and i would cover my back entirely! :D that's the good thing about being able to make your own clothes! ^^ also maybe i would cover my arms a little bit more lol, a dress more like the 30s, 40s and 50s yk?
i am a beginner to sewing i am really struggling because of measurement please help me and i saw the pattern in your website but dont have money to buy it
Do you know how easy it may be to add a sleeve? I'd love to make this for my own homecoming dance but I'm kinda insecure about my shoulders and would like some coverage
As a homeschooler, I totally relate to that intro lol. 😅
Ayyy homeschoolers unite!!😂

Yup, prehem crew for the upvote.

Those of you who can't buy the pattern and need the width of the back piece because the measurement is missing, its 8 3/4" (inches). You're welcome
Lol I saw that fabric at Joanns today
