Throwing and finishing a teapot.

Throwing and finishing a tea pot in the studio. This was a two day process. Throwing the tea pot base and the lid using calipers for the fit. The next day trimming the lids and the tea pot. Attaching a knob to the tea pot lid. Throwing the teapot spouts and drying them to where they are ready to attach then drilling the teapot for the spout to be attached. Attaching the spout and cutting the right angle on the spout for a good pour. You angle it at about 11 o’clock for the memory of the clay, that twists as it dries and fires. Pulling a handle for the tea pot with a thumb knob for extra control and support.
