Thank you for choosing this. In my opinion, one of the most gorgeous Supertramp songs. Love the entire album.....and this song has such a beautiful message. Such a special "prayer". Thank you!!
Supertramp at its most serene. Starts in almost like a lullaby. Then it builds into an anthem. Then it culminates in a plea for peaceful harmony. That a lot of emotion packed in one song.
I can really relate to this song. Because of all the ups and downs I have been through in life. I am 63 years old now. Amazing to still be alive. ❤❤Love you both. Thanks.
Aw ❤❤❤! I can relate to your comment SO MUCH - you have no idea 😢. I went through 15 years of psychological cruelty (psychological domestic violence - PDV) at the hands of my ex-partner then even worse horrors 😭 (which I can't go into detail in a public forum). In total, 25 years of suffering - half my life. I'm now on my own and slowly starting to heal (estranged from my original family) - and starting to feel peace and a tiny bit of hope and happiness. Parents, close family and friends have helped me to survive - 💏 hugs and kisses to them all. Hugs 🫂 to you and Metta (selfless loving kindness) because I'm a Buddhist. Jo x
@joannecunliffe8067 I'm so very proud of you for getting yourself through this. It doesn't help to say me too. My therapy was writing a book. I was married 34 yrs to a combat vet with a hair trigger temper. I'm finally older than my troubles finally. You go girl and I'll be thinking of you. ❤❤
You guys have been playing all of their commercial hits , radio hits , I've been waiting for you to dig a little deeper And find their true masterpieces which you have just done ! Please don't stop there they have so much to offer !
Great reaction. This album is stellar from start to finish. Can listen to it over and over and over and over and over and over...Anyone else agree? Peace to all.
This is a song I never thought I would hear on the channel but it's easily one of the top 5 meaningful songs ever. I've listened to it many times over the years
Roger Hodgson wrote some great soulful songs and this just one of them. I also agree with everyone who is suggesting "Child Of Vision" which is the closer on this album. It is one of my favorite Supertramp songs.
This entire album is a masterpiece. I was in college when this album came out. I used the instrumental portion of Child of Vision for a slide presentation for one of my classes.
“If only I could find a way to feel your sweetness through the day The love that shines around me could be mine So give us an answer won't you We know what we have to do There must be a thousand voices tryyyying to get throuuuuuugh” ALWAYS gives me chills! This whole album, front to back!!!!
This song should be blasted on every radio station in the world right now......over and over until a whole lot of people take notice and listen. One can only wish at least HALF would be affected by the words.
Totally agree with you. I was 11 in 1979 and I remember listening to this album in my older brother's room. This album is in my TOP 20 Albums of ALL TIME....can listen to it over and over and over and over....Peace .
Oh heck ya on Fool's Overture. Hopefully they do a live version. I usually prefer the studio version but man there's a live version video on UA-cam that is out of this world.
YES....oh, I've been wanting to hear your reaction to this! One of my absolute favorite Supertramp songs. The power in the lyrics, Roger's vocals & the dynamics of the instrumentation is top tier.
Wow! I loved this! I am a huge Supertramp fan, but this was my first time hearing this song! I loved it, and I loved your reaction to it! I have a request for a group you've listened to once before. The group was the British band Soul II Soul, and the song was Back To Life. I KNOW you remember that song!!! It was awesome!!! Most people think they were a one hit wonder, but please, PLEASE react to their song Keep On Movin'. I promise you won't regret it! It's BEAUTIFUL! And it ROCKS! You'll love it! I PROMISE!!!
A nice song. Supertramp, as I have stated many times before, has been my favourite band since I was 13 in 1975 and first heard the album Crime of the Century. Supertramp is equal parts cynical/realistic and spiritual in terms of its lyrics. This is one of the more spiritual songs by Roger Hodgson. You need to react to three other songs off Breakfast In America that I rarely if ever hear on the radio - Oh Darling, Child of Vision and Just Another Nervous Wreck. EVERY tune off their five LPs between 1974 and 1982 are either good, better or great. React to anything off the all-time classic album Crime of the Century bu especially School, Bloody Well Right, Hide in Your Shell, Asylum, Dreamer, Rudy and Crime of the Century. Off Even In The Quietest Moments listen to Fool's Overture, Give A Little Bit, Babji and, personal favourites of favourites, From Now On and Lover Boy. Off Crisis? What Crisis? react to Another Man's Woman, Sister Moonshine, Ain't Nobody Like Me, Lady and A Soapbox Opera. Enjoy. I really look forward to seeing/hearing your reactions.
Supertramp and YES had the same manager (Brian Lane) and at one time he tried to get Roger to write with Jon Anderson as some members of YES thought that Jon's lyrics were getting to "Arty-Farty." When Jon Anderson left YES Roger was suggested as a replacement for the band.... It might have been an interesting combination.
This is why we listened to an entire album as opposed to radio hits. Really good bands like Supertramp created emotional paintings. You want on a journey. I distinctly remember the first time I heard Tapestry. Or Zappa's Apostrophe. Horses from Patti Smith was a personal revelation. You lived within the life of the album. And that feeling of discovery could be exchanged and shared with your contemporaries. Revolutions were born from listening to kick-ass music. One name: Dylan. Beyonce's Lemonade is a contemporary example. Good music moves people. A fantab concept meticulously executed can influence a generation.
Supertramp is one of those groups that you put their albums on and just let it play. I look forward to songs from Crime of the Century, Crisis, What Crisis and Even in the Quietest Moments.
I just love revisiting my old classics with both of you, your reactions are priceless! Sharing the same goosebumps through the same musical lines makes these moments sooooo enjoyable! Thank you!
Roger Hodgson, the lead singer of Supertramp released the song "Had A Dream" from his first solo LP/CD in '84 that you may like. You'll find numerous short and long versions of this song.
OMG, I actually first heard this song as a teenager in the movie Roller Boogie (haha), but still love this song (and Supertramp) to this day. Similar to being introduced to their song School in the film Little Darlings. So many fun teenager movies.
Wow - a flood of memories hearing this song! I had this album and wore it out! I’d come home from school and my mom had it cranked up. Thank you for choosing this song. You made me smile. ☮️ ❤
I don't know if you've covered it yet but my Favorite Supertramp song is "Hide in your shell" another slow song with deep meaning that Roger wrote when he was still in his early twenties and shy. He said something about being able to express through song what he felt too shy to talk about.
Another beautiful, peaceful song, but with Rick on lead vocal, is "Downstream." More of a love song. You can really hear how Rick's voice can also be beautiful, even if it's not as high and clear as Roger's.
‘Beatlesque’. Absolutely. There are tons more Supertramp you should listen to. Child of Vision is off the same album. It might be a longer track but it’s well worth checking out. It’s faster and more up tempo. There is lots of piano and lots of horns. As the title suggests, it carries a compelling meaning, even if it is heavy on instrumentals.
Breakfast In America is such a great album. I was fortunate enough to meet Roger Hodgson a few years ago. It was like meeting an old friend. He is such a lovely guy.
What a perfect song for right now. Even as an early teen when this first came out I couldn't get through this song without tears. So many things I don't understand about the world we live in. The only answer is love. If you want more of this kind of Supertramp I would recommend Even in the Quietest Moments. If you are wanting more action I would suggest Cannonball.
recently found your channel. As a Supertramp addict I love all the masterpieces you' ve shown. But please don't forget ' even in the quietest moments' from the album ' even in the quietest moments' Beautiful intro, this will really blow your mind. Keep on the good work!! thanks from The Netherlands
Bravo bravo I've been wondering when somebody was going to review this awesome tune from one of the most awesome albums from the end of the seventies thanks you guys are the best❤
I discovered this album at the age of 15, ten years after it was released. I knew a couple of the songs already from hearing them on the radio when I was younger. The album as a whole left a huge impression on me. I fell in love with it immediately. I can still remember where I was and the friends who were there when I heard it for the first time. But it was this song in particular that reached in and grabbed my stomach. I could feel it in my core, and I still can to this day. Thank you so much for this one. From the 15-year-old me and the fifty-year-old me.
Such a beautiful song! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ In these crazy times, friends, pls know you are loved..at least my me! 😊🙋🏻♀️🙏❤️ But, know the Lord loves you the most…..there’s a lot of voices trying to get through…keep calling/ praying….He’s there. God bless! 🙏
One of the best albums ever written as well as recorded. Unbelievable sound for the 70s. Perfectly mixed. One of my "3 albums to have on a deserted island"
This song represents more of Roger Hodgson's style of music, which is why after the breakup I enjoyed Roger's solo albums more than the direction Supertramp took without him.
Jay & Amber, please react to "Fool's Ouverture" and "Don't Leave Me Now". The first is one of the finest prog rock ever written, and the second is my favorite song of Supertramp.
PD. No olviden que les he recomendado varias veces esto: (HIDE IN YOUR SHELL) Versión de estudio, para que adivinen ese sonido "UNICO" en una banda.
When speaking of his songs Roger Hodgson has described them like his children….all special in their own way. But….he says this one is really special to him. I’m sure you can see why! It’s so incredible!!
Amazing song. One their best and a real surpise on this album. It is one of those unexpected ballads from a rock band, like "Beth" by Kiss, where you are just blown away by the emotion.
This is indeed a great song off a great album. I have 3 words for you. The Fools Overture. In my opinion The Fools Overture demonstrates what a great band that they really were.
You really can't go wrong with Supertramp!
Supertramp is such a unique and special band. Just an amazing gem of a band. I feel sorry for those who have never listened to Supertramp.
I can really relate to this song. Because of all the ups and downs I have been through in life. I am 63 years old now. Amazing to still be alive. ❤❤Love you both. Thanks.

...so glad to see that you came across this song, and that you enjoyed it so much... Supertramp at their best... 💖
This is one of my "desert island discs", you can't go wrong with anything on it.
Would love to see your reaction to the final track "Child of Vision".
I was about to write this myself.
Totally agree with you. I was 11 in 1979 and I remember listening to this album in my older brother's room. This album is in my TOP 20 Albums of ALL TIME....can listen to it over and over and over and over....Peace .
“CRIME OF THE CENTURY,” ‘EVEN IN THE QUIETEST MOMENTS,” & “THE MEANING” are all amazing… and when you’re ready… “FOOL’S OVERTURE”
Most definitely Fool’s Overture!
Oh heck ya on Fool's Overture. Hopefully they do a live version. I usually prefer the studio version but man there's a live version video on UA-cam that is out of this world.
Been asking for Fools Overture for a long time!!! But I’ll take Even in the Quietest Moments no questions asked.
Live version from the Paris album
Supertramp is another one of those bands whose B-side was every bit as good as the a side
My goodness! This is a blast from my high school years! Such a great song
Supertramp is truly amazing. Thank you for reacting to them again.
YES....oh, I've been wanting to hear your reaction to this! One of my absolute favorite Supertramp songs. The power in the lyrics, Roger's vocals & the dynamics of the instrumentation is top tier.
One of my all-time favorite songs! So powerful. So emotional.
The older I get, the more I appreciate this song. Thanks for the reaction. Loved Supertramp.💕
Clearly you heard the listeners. This is a deep cut from this iconic album. One of my favorite Supertramp songs. Great job!
I LOVE Supertramp, and to me this is the most moving song they have, one of my favorite songs of all time, gives me chills every time
So glad you did this song. A real sleeper. This song is very powerful.
This is really one of my favorite spiritual songs from Supertramp!!! Love Love this song!!!
this song has the most perfect sung chord sequence at the climax (around 5:45). it gives me chills every time.
Wow! I loved this! I am a huge Supertramp fan, but this was my first time hearing this song! I loved it, and I loved your reaction to it!

Child Of Vision is a rocker!
Wow I've been listening to Crime, like a lot of their albums...but "If everyone was listening" is a total classic.
Nothing short of amazing. Never heard this and I've been listening to Supertramp since 1977. The production and song writing is second to none.
Supertramp is such a crazy talented band. Roger's voice is like no other.
Supertramp and YES had the same manager (Brian Lane) and at one time he tried to get Roger to write with Jon Anderson as some members of YES thought that Jon's lyrics were getting to "Arty-Farty."
When Jon Anderson left YES Roger was suggested as a replacement for the band....
It might have been an interesting combination.
Absolutely one of my favourites from Supertramp.
I love the album "breakfast in America", great album
You need to check out another brilliant Supertramp classic.... Fools Overture. Roger Hodgson's vocal range gets a true test in this one.
Their Even in the Quietest Moments has a similar vibe, and is amazing. Fool's Overture, and Rudy are both amazing as well.
This is why we listened to an entire album as opposed to radio hits. Really good bands like Supertramp created emotional paintings. You want on a journey. Great song, from a great album. You need to do "Child of Vision", which closes out the album. The instrumentation on it is great.

One of Supertramps most unappreciated songs. Great selection!
Always a pleasure listening to Supertramp.
Hopefully, after you have heard all the tracks on this album, you can go back and listen to it in its entirety. Great reaction as usual. 👍
One of my favorites from them ❤️
Excellent deep cut and one of the best from Breakfast in America.
Another beautiful, peaceful song, but with Rick on lead vocal, is "Downstream." More of a love song. You can really hear how Rick's voice can also be beautiful, even if it's not as high and clear as Roger's.

I agree, this is an outstanding album. This is their 10th Supertramp reaction
And with Child of Vision I suggest the album version because the piano solo is longer and more varied. (in my opinion)
You must check out
Rudy" from Crime of the Century. It has one of my favorite turn of phrase - "Rudy's on a train to nowhere, halfway down the line"
Breakfast In America is such a great album. I was fortunate enough to meet Roger Hodgson a few years ago. It was like meeting an old friend. He is such a lovely guy.

Gone Hollywood is an underrated gem off that album
Great song and yes, Beatlesque is a great word to describe it.
Hide in your shell is a superb song by Supertramp x
one of my favorite...so touching!

Never heard this one but I love it. It’s beautiful.
They never made one bad song all amazing !
Every Supertramp tune is my favorite Supertramp tune
Another brilliant Supertramp song, but then its hard to find one that isn't......I suggest Oh Darling and Child of Vision next :)
Just beautiful.
Fastway! Say What You Will! Absolute banger!
Love Supertram. Especially the breakfast in America album. Thanks for sharing this with us. Keep up the awesome work. Hello from Pa USA 🇺🇸 ❤❤❤.
Silence. Solitude. It’s so needed. My favorite from BIA. Listen to Child

Beautiful song!
"Rudy" from the Crime of the Century album
I prefer the version from their live album, "Paris!"
“Child of Vision” is another good one to check out.

Thank you for this - it took me right back to the late 70s and early 80s when I was serving in the RAF in the UK and Germany. Happy days.
the supertallented supertramp !
One of the best albums ever written as well as recorded. Unbelievable sound for the 70s. Perfectly mixed. One of my "3 albums to have on a deserted island"
I love this one. I feel that when Roger left the band in 1983 that the heart left the band. And they really never had another hit.
