I love your videos and how you explain completely as you go - very GOOD. One tiny little suggestion would be to make video when not running your washer/dryer. Not horrible, but it sounds like you are painting in a laundry. LOL.
Lol. At the time it was the only area I had to paint in. I now have a studio where there is silence...much better, but at the time, I worked with what I had.
@@VivoVintageDesigns wonderful..congrats on the new studio. You are the best of the best I have found on youtube for alcohol ink flowers on tile. Tks to you I am regenerating my desire to try it. Please excuse my criticism. Look fwd to more videos in your new space.
I love the way you stagger your petals on the flowers. They don't look fake when they are not done in a row all the way around. You're great.........I've learned so much from your tutorials. Thanks a millions for helping all of us wanting to increase our crafting abilities.
If I could swear right now to express how absolutely beautiful this is, I would but I can't, so I'm just going to say, wow wow wow you are unbelievable!
Hi Jean. Thank you for watching. I'm glad you feel inspired. You can create some beautiful flowers with the airbrush...just takes a little practice. Be sure to tag me...I'd love to see what beauty you create.
Thank you Liz. It truly does bring me great joy when the inks are on my side and the results are good. Even when they are against me, I still enjoy the process 😊
That was a great video! Thanks for using the "bulby" thing too! The air gun is my next investment. Very informative. Thank you for sharing. How would you seal that?
Hi Lynn and thank you for watching. I seal it using 2-3 coats of karmar varnish and the 2-3 coats of the karmar UV protection. Once thats done, you can resin over it with your resin of choice if you would like to use it as a coaster.
I love your video, first time watching, I have a air gun I have been wanting to try, might have to watch your video a few more times before I try. Awesome work.
Wow! So Beautiful, really beautiful!! Is there some way to protect it so the ink won't get rubbed off or messed up? Are you able to use these for things like coasters or as a part of a backsplash without them getting ruined?
Thank you. Alcohol ink on any surface must be sealed. I use multiple light coats of kamar varnish and then the same with kamar uv protection. To use as a coaster, I would recommend sealing aa described above, the using resin.
This turned out so pretty. I am trying to learn how to do this and so far. I am not being very successful. Do you use a spray varnish on the tile to seal your art? TFS
@tatteredpaperandlace2905 thank you. When I do seal alcohol ink, I use kamar varnish and then kamar uv protection, but I only seal a painting if I sell it, gift it or frame it.
Thank you! I wouldn't use or recommend using as straw. First because it's dangerous. Second because the moisture in your breath does not work well with alcohol ink. If an airbrush is not a option at this time, I would recommend the Ranger bulb hand Blower. Its inexpensive and works well.
Thank you for this video. Would it be possible to use this technique on the bottom of a round glass cutting board by creating the center first, then the petals, so the design will show through on the top of the glass as it does on your tile? I bought one that only has petals, which is pretty and looks like a hibiscus, but I need to make daisies, so there needs to be a center.
Thank you 😊. I don't recommend using a straw. It can be dangerous for your health and the moisture from your breath does not work well with alcohol inks.

I wish I could respond in Spanish, but then you wouldn't understand me since it's so bad 😆. The white I use for the center is an alcohol ink by Ranger called Snow Cap. To seal my paintings, I use 3 coats of kamar varnish and then 3 of the kamar uv protection. 😊
Lovely, I like working on tiles too.....a good practice tool as well, just wipe off and try again! How do you finish off your tile creations...Kamar Varnish then Clear UV spray and do you then resin them? Enjoy watching your videos and have been following you for quite awhile now😊🌻
Hi Tina. I don't cover the back unless I resin. Then I would use blue tape to protect it from the resin dripping and if I were to use it as a coaster, I would use cork or silicone tabs.
Very informative video! Is coating with protective spray enough to finish it? I have not tried resin, but I’m wondering if sealing it is enough to use as a coaster.
Awesome!! I think I've watched 4 or 5 of your videos today!! Wow!! Was shocked when you wiped off that pretty pink flower!! The yellow flower turned out beautiful too!! Which resin do you prefer? You could resin over them after sealing it with kamar varnish and then kamar uv protection. However, since I've not done this myself, I'm not sure how they would hold up, meaning fading, despite the uv protection.
I don't know how well they would hold up, but I would seal them with kamar varnish, uv protection and then resin. Again, I'm not sure. That's what I do to use them as coasters. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I can understand your concerns. The one I use, art resin, doesn't have any fumes that I can recall, however, I have tried others that did have strong fumes. I've not used anything other than resin for coasters, so I really can't advise another product.
It depends on what you want to use it for. If you simply want to display it, kamar varnish and uv protection is enough. If you want to use it as coaster or trivet, kamar varnish and uv protection then resin. Check the heat resistance of you resin you choose to make sure it suits your needs.

Very nice but I am wondering if you seal it with something ?😊

Can we have painting on titles permanently do we have to use anything else after the flower gets dry.
It has to be sealed with kamar varnish and kamar UV protection.
Do you epoxy over the flower after it dried
Sometimes, I'll resin over tile or if I mounted a painting on cradle board
Does it make a difference as to the kind of alcohol ink you use , some are very transparent others heavier
I've tried a few and stick to ranger and pinata.
Is there a way to seal these for outside use on a table?
You could resin over them after sealing it with kamar varnish and then kamar uv protection. However, since I've not done this myself, I'm not sure how they would hold up, meaning fading, despite the uv protection.

Beautiful thank you for sharing , so what do you do to make it where it can be cleaned do you coat the tile with something?
Thank you. Since tile is not porous, you can simply wipe away using alcohol...its that simple😊
I love this! Are you using a heat gum for the drying?
Thanks. It's a blow dryer.
Two more questions please.
1- could I use a straw and get the same effect?
2- do I have to put varnish before adding resin?
I dont ever recond using a straw. It's not safe. If you dont have an airbrush, use the ranger air Blower. It's about $10 and creates beautiful petals. You have to seal with karmar varnish first then UV protection before you can resin.
Loved this...can you do this in reverse...do a pen and ink drawing, seal it then add color in this way?
Thank you😊. That's a good question, but I've not tried it.

Yes. 2 or 3 coats of kamar varnish, then 2 or 3 coats of kamar uv protection.
So you are doing this on a glossy finish tile?
Yes. Inexpensive white tile from home depot.

Thanks😊. Yes, if I'm keeping it or selling it, I use 2-3 coats of kamar varnish and 2 of the kamar UV protection.

Yes, you can use Krylon Kamar Varnish and then Krylon UV protection to keep from fading. After these two sprays, you can also resin.
Does blending solution work the same as Rubbing alcohol or IPA???
Please reply
I only use 91-99% alcohol. I understand that blending solution works best with mixative, which I seldom use.
