- Larry helps me work on a very common backswing issue, where the arms continue to move after the body has stopped turning. In this video we discuss ways to make a better turn in the backswing and keep the arms in a better position so that the downswing requires less compensations.

always impressed with matts adaptability, thats really where he stands out in the golf content world. its amazing what that opens up for him from an informational content scope
This is the clearest explanation of how to address over swinging. I’ve struggled with fixing this for years - left arm straight, more wrist cock, less turn, more turn, etc. - without any success. After thinking about the inside of the elbow facing the seam of your shirt, I took a few backswings facing a mirror and IMMEDIATELY see a difference. Thanks for the tip, Larry!
This is my BIGGEST issue by far I may watch this video 40 times. Only gets worse with the longer clubs it drives me crazy
I had a feeling we would be seeing more of Larry when Matt went on his own. Great to see and hopefully its good visibility for Larry and his business.
Just as I am figuring to stop my over swinging n your notification showed up 🙏
This is the kind of golf content the world needs. Highly informations, easily understandable, real fixes to common issues. Knowledgeable guests and Matts ability to work with anyone makes this exactly what we need, great content!
Love how the two of you explain the swing in a way that’s easy to understand. Good to know that a full turn is more important than bringing the club back too far with a fake turn. Keep up the good work, Matt.
Larry is awesome. It’s obvious he understands the golf swing and does a lot of instruction because he explains this very plainly yet precisely.
i think Larry's comment about "faking the turn with trail arm" might be the game-changer I needed. Thank you!!!
In this Clip I understand Larry more than in the previous ones. Thank you!
Some great swings towards the end, it’s amazing how something so simple can make such a difference.
The moment you realize this is exactly what you´ve been doing wrong. Great Video! Will work on this tomorrow!
I'm impressed to see so many videos on how to improve your golf swing that don't "cure your slice in 10 swings". Just small details, one at a time, to create a more functional and fluid swing. Excellent work!
There is absolutely no doubt your were the T in TXG. Tour level ball striking everyone can appreciate and admire. In fact, I actually feel like I am watching a TXG video watching this. Would be really cool if you and Larry could team up more and find a way to combine your content. You two work very good together.
This is a great follow up to Matt’s backswing videos with Tyler and Ian Mellor. It’s refreshing to see you (basically a scratch or better golfer) humbly absorb and apply the coaching in a way that’s relatable to the masses. Not that we all don’t like watching Matt hit bombs, but my favorite videos when you were with TXG were the coaching/ teaching clips with guys like Larry, Tyler, and Gareth!
Love videos with you and LC. Great stuff. Could be the new dynamic duo?? ;)
This is the first time I have seen this explained so well. Thank you
Always impressed when Matt and Larry talk shop about the golf swing. Becoming one of my favorite golf segments on UA-cam. This channel is going to gain momentum and grow like mad in 2022! 💪🙌🔥✅🙏🙏👍☝️💯💯
Larry is certainly talented teacher with a good eye. Most teachers work with what the student brings and don't make those important changes leaving students with the ability to hit the ball but with ingrained mistakes. Even though I have worked with some of the best, I've always wanted to work on the finer points but never found a teachers to help fix them. I've still won my fair share of tournaments but always desired to reach for the higher ring in the pursuit of excellence in my golf swing. Nice to see these points being addressed so maybe we all can learn from videos like this. Perhaps it's the new age of golf teachers?
Thanks Matt!
.
I've missed larry. Love his passion
More technical and informative then TXG. 3x better content, average player focused. Loving it 👍👍👍.
I was literally just at the range and couldn't figure out why my swing felt so disjointed (besides coming off of winter). This video made everything crystal clear. I especially liked the comment about the "wall", keeping the trail elbow in front of the torso. I've overswung my whole life, here's to fixing that problem this year!
Larry and Matty great combo 👍⛳️🏌🏼♂️🍻
This was one of the most difficult changes I've ever had to make in my swing. It took me 7 months to finally make my backswing consistent, shorter, while having more width. There's alot that went into it, big ones being forcing my right arm to feel straighter, feel like I'm pushing my hands out at the center of my chest, less radial of the lead wrist, a more vertical backswing path among other things.
This is a really great example of how an overswing really changes the way you turn and swing a golf club. I struggle with a turn similar to what you do Matt and I discovered the "fix" on my own a bit while playing recently. This video is perfect to help remind me of the feeling while I'm back in the snow instead of on a golf course lol thanks for the great content as always!
Turns out I was watching TXG for Matt and not as much for channel content the past few months…TXG’s fallen off a bit now IMO but I can’t stop watching Matt’s channel
The swing is looking mint Matty boy 👌 this was a great lesson
Great video.
This all really hit home for me when Larry said he saw people creating 'fake turn'. If I am getting the message correctly, it appears that this lesson is all focused on eliminating any looseness in the backswing that is artificial and will immediately be dumped when the downswing begins. If you're going to dump it anyways, why do it in the first place!? What a gem. Really insightful. Thanks for sharing this Matt.
Matt I swear we are the exact same golfer except from opposite sides of the ball! All of these instructional videos have been great and super relatable to me so keep up the great work!
This is a great subject to cover. I never understood until I watched another video from Athletic Motion Golf, about how far the arms move. Everyone thinks the arm moves so much but it's really the chest rotation with your hip pivot that you should be doing. The added benefit is that when you start the downswing you end up creating Lag between the arms and chest for MORE power! Great fix for an inside takeaway too! Great job men
Larry, you are incredible. I've seen 3 of these videos and I relate to all of it. These videos are thousands of dollars in instruction. I've paid thousands of dollars in week long full-time instruction and this is exactly what we worked on.
Another gem, short and effective. I am so guilty of this
The channel is blowing up! Way to go Matt!!!
this is the exact problem i have with my overswing. Boom! mind blown. Thanks Matt, thanks Larry!
Matt appreciate you taking us on your golf journey!
I always felt my backswing was too short, but this has me second guessing...
Content like this makes me glad Matt is doing his own thing. Love the more technical swing angle that Matt is going for in his videos.
You are a mind reader . Thanks for the video
Perfect Guys! This is my main issue ! Don’t ever delete this video ! Can’t afford to get to Canada right now!
This is my number 1 issue, thanks for addressing it.
I regularly have to check this with the Smart Ball. Im a serial offender too!! Keep up the great content, Matty.
This ties in really well with your session with Ian Mellor. In that video, there’s a bit about the trail elbow not getting deeper than the trail shoulder. To use Larry’s words in this video, that creates “fake depth”. Great content!
Here we go.... Matt, thank you for this great info ..... This is the new Dynamic Dou!!!! Massive... More and more please... Thank you.
Love the new content Matt, thanks!
This was great! Thanks Matt.
Great to see ya Matty
Great video!
So Good !
Great content Matt and Larry, keep it up!
Great video guys!
Nice work Matt 🤘
loving this series of content Matt - using ground forces and real depth vs fake depth are definitely things we can all work on and the visuals and explanation from you and Larry are easy to understand and identify in our own swings 🙏
This exactly the video I needed to see.
This is so good. Please keep these coming Matt!
love the content with Larry
Love the videos from Larry's, but I NEED THOSE HEAD COVERS!

Good to see you back Matt.
Putting out excellent content as usual.
Keep it coming.
Good to see Larry! Yes, fake depth. That was a good video he had come out about that.
Good stuff, Matt. Thanks!
These videos are amazing!! Thanks Matt 🏌🏻♂️
Love this, very relatable video for me!
sweet video! exactly what a lot of us need!!
Larry & Matty Boy!!! Too Awesome!!!
Great info. Love that Mizuno bag!
Love this video, very guilty of this and something I'll be working on before the start of the season grateful for the insight and camera angles to show me where I've been going wrong and you said it perfectly Matt I believed I was gaining more speed when in reality I need more finesse
Video Gold right here! Wow Matt keep it up.
Such a great video subject. Elbow in conjunction to shirt seem. It makes complete sense now that you both showed it very well to us. Larry's knowledge and ability to be understood is superb. Matt's ability to listen and adapt are special. Matt, you have a great talent in asking questions that clears everything up. You both work extremely well together and your subjects are tremendously relatable.
Thanks Paul!
This was a very helpful video, thanks Matt! Appreciate it and keep up the good work 🙌
Nice tips 👍🏻 thanks for sharing this good information for back swing and we look forward for more.
Great video and I am so glad to see you doing these videos. You have a way of making it easier to understand.
This makes me happy. Please keep this channel and content going!
Loving this game improving series
This is awesome, couple of great nuggets of info thanks gents
Great instructional video.
Good luck with the new channel Matt, and with content like this it should be easy.
Good to see you back in action, Matt.
Such a great idea to produce videos with and for Larry! Always an awesome pleasure to watch.
Matt great content that is exactly my problem! Keep your videos coming
Love it great info. Been working on this all last year and I know when it happens.
Matt - once again, great video!! Love the direction you're going with your channel where you have some videos on club reviews and others on swing tips, like this one!!! Awesome!!!
Two of my favorite golfers on UA-cam!
Thank you for producing this gold. Spoiling us man
Great video - Very guilty of this myself. Find it really challenging to control extent of backswing. Great content
Never thought of the backswing this way. Great content👍
Awesome video, Matt. As a fellow lefty, these mean the world as I don’t have to flip everything for it to make sense to my brain and body. This issue, overturning, is something that I’ve been wondering about myself. Now I can’t wait to get to the range to try this out. Thanks! You’re doing amazing!
Definitely second that not many lefties on UA-cam so glad matty still on UA-cam such a nice guy and a absolute bomber of the ball
Congratulations Matt on moving on with your new channel! I'm really enjoying your content so far, well done sir.
Great info! Matt is so good in absorbing the infos then relates and explains to us in a way that we can understand. The way he can control his swing is pretty amazing.
That was a great video. Larry with an excellent explanation. Visual of the arms not passing the shirt seam is clear.
Great to see you Matt, love Larry and his teaching philosophy, keep grinding gentlemen
Best content by far
Very helpful Matt. Thanks! Best instruction I’ve encountered. Great series
Matt, so glad to see back!!! Always great content! So many commonalities in our games, except that I swing it about 100 mph slower than you do! 😀
Awesome video! Been working on this for years. Larry did a great job explaining the cause and effect. Great video Matt!
Most helpful vid I’ve seen in a while, great work guys.
Matt, you are doing an awesome job. Really enjoying your channel. Can't say how impressed and pleased I am how well you are doing.
