Ford 6.0 Diesel Excursion lugs and turbo sings as it climbs the hill.

I am currently building my expedition. I've had 3 brand new jeeps over the years. Love the expedition for all the room it offers. It's a nice change. Very comfortable. Big V8 and a full size frame. Just added big tires and a 13,000 lb winch. Mine is a 2004. Lots of used ones on the market. I paid only $3000.00 for it. Real nice shape. Southern vehicle. No rust. Lots of miles. It's going to be a dedicated weekend warrior. People don't want these gas hogs but it will make a nice off road machine.
I love the Ex too, but if I didn't tow, I'd definitely have a gas one as well. In hind sight I like the F250 platform for off-road, pretty much indestructible out of the box. Been there done that on the breaking stuff in the middle of nowhere.
Nice! Headed out there in my F250 from Ohio in September, can't wait!
Hell yea, look up Dave at Extreme 4x4 Tours. He has some rad info on all the secret (and popular) trails. Also has a sick shop with all the inside knowledge on where to get the parts you need fix it when you break it!
@@owlclaw Awesome, thanks for the info!
Beautiful 😅
Thanks 😅
Big girl getting it done!! Very impressed for such a large vehicle but it is a ford so not that impressive! I’m actually looking for an Excursion but I will only be towing maybe 2-4 times a year… so probably looking towards the V10 although I would love a 7.3… thoughts or stuff to look for when purchasing??
Yes V10s are good. If I didn't tow all the time, I'd go that route too. The chassis is pretty solid so don't be afraid to pay for a nice one rather than having to "re-do" everything like everyone on youtube 😁
@@owlclaw, thank you so much!!
ultra heavy trukc makes it more impressive!
It was the most capable thing I've ever wheeled :)
Nice excursion! What suspension/wheel setup are you running?

@@owlclaw appreciate it man!
Looks like a 2 inch lift like mine
Nice! What's the back spacing on the H1 wheels. Did you get them from Trail Worthy Fab? How is the ride? Are you able to balance them? Did you regear or were you ok with the 6.0? I've got the tires on deck but what not sure if I would need the regear.
@@owlclaw yeah Excursions are already top heavy enough and you don't need extra height and clearance as much as you just need good grip and travel in rocky hills. I'll admit I run a set of 8inch leafs and 38x15.5s on mine but that's because I live in the Southeast in a muddy coastal floodplain, here the lift and as much extra flotation as you can get are important. Where you are it would be a hindrance.
So sick of seeing jeeps & tacomas.....great to see something different!
Glad you enjoyed!
CANYONERO
Ha! That's incredible. I thought it was a translation thing until I saw your Simpsons logo! I think you just named the truck 😂
Leaf springs??
Stock coils and arms from 05-08 F250
That was it
Come on out, we can do more!
I was out there not to long ago but I don’t really know that area. A good video from your starting location to your end location and maybe all of us diesel people can meet up. I would say excursion but don’t want to leave everyone else out.
@@mariocar92 gotta call Dave at Xtreme 4x4. He has all the knowledge of the trails :)
These things REALLY aren't made for this.
That's kinda the point :) We like the impossible.
@hatred, yep sounds about right. Mine stays cool till about 80 degree ambient then it starts to heat up under load. Might be because of the winch and lights blocking the radiator :)
You're right, bc Excursions are BUILT for this!
;8)
