I love how all the characters are initially presented as stereotypical young audience anime archetypes, and only later are slowly shown to actually have more depth than that; also makes Monika stick out more, due to the fact that she _doesn't_ stick out at all as any particular archetype; she just sticks out for being astoundingly "normal", sort of not fitting in, which makes way too much sense when you consider that she's not intended to be among the datable characters.

Uncle Maverick shitpost: the movie
When you started talking about class presentations I spaced out for a full 10 minutes like I was having a Vietnam flashback remembering the time in Highschool that I had to make a short movie recapping the story of Hamlet.
I chose to do mine using paper craft puppets and reenacting the important scenes, doing all the voices myself because no one wanted to work with me and only the very second it played on the projector did I realize it was so much better in my head.
I spent the entire 3 minutes with my face buried into my desk, sweating like I was in an actual sauna and plugging my ears so I wouldn't have to hear my own voice.
By the time it was over and I lifted my head off the desk my face was literally pink and my glasses had fogged up so much I couldn't see.
Sounds like it would have been cute and imaginative; I haven’t seen anyone do that on their own volition so I’d have clapped for your initiative.

I know this is old. But Oh. My. God. The foreshadowing in poems in Arc 1 is amazing. From things that I already knew like Sayori's depression, Monika's self awareness, Natsuki's abusive homelife and loneliness to things I didn't know like Yuri's cutting. I just can't help but gush at it.
It's written like a good VN until the doki doki things happen. Unfortunately that makes it one of those games that are really only at their best if you aren't in on the twist
@@heszedjim9699 I feel like that can vary from person to person. When I played the game for the first time a few months ago, already knowing the twists, I still enjoyed my time, and still got really emotional at the end.

HOW IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THE FACT THAT THE ENTIRE FIRST DAY AFTER SAYORI IS DELETED THAT, IN THE CLUBROOM, THERE IS A PICTURE OF SAYORI *HANGING*?!?!?!? LITERALLY!
Apparently there’s just a chance of that happening but it doesn’t happen every time, like most scares in the game, so that’s a kinda neat fact
I was so confused if he just edited it in or not and chose not to talk about it.
There is a 1 in 6 chance of that appearing in act 2 each time the classroom is loaded after a screen transition. I noticed it happened twice
Several scares are random. The scene where white-eyed Yuri appears after the screen turns pitch-black is one of them.
Another one I would've liked to see is the *PLAY WITH ME!* scare Natsuki does if you neglect spending time with her.

Tbh honest, I never realised how much of an impact the main character saying that Yuri’s there friend is to her. You first see this and go “Oh shit we just friend zoned her oh fuck“ but watching it again she reacts the way she does because this is the first time anyone has really said she’s their friend which is really depressing
