Not so much, the description is misleading. Instead of having a 3 min runtime the filters have a 5 min runtime, but the total amount of minutes you have does not change. The only thing that changes is the frequency with wich you swap filters.
I've replayed that chapter several times, never ran out of filters. In my first playthrough, what made it hard, was that I didn't have Armored glass and the little worm things broke my gas mask, even when I rushed.
Alonnie Same, i had the same issue with the worms during the last chapter. That Reinforced Glass upgrade would've been handy then, but i went to see Damir first and then the location disappeared from the map. Sucks.

Yeah played through on hardcore and looked pretty thoroughly - I thought - but missed a bunch of diaries and upgrades. A few I pretty much got to, but apparently didn't quite pick them up (didn't see the latter in the slave ship, for example)
If you missed the reinforced helmet in Volga, you can find it in Caspian. It's in the rusty ship Anna tells you to go and free the slaves. It's in a small open room (not the one on the second floor, somewhat level with the lever you pull for slaves) in the middle of the boat on a short table.

@innocent mubba You’re still free to roam to get collectibles and gear after you retrieve the rail car and up until your told to meet up with Anna, duke and a few others back at the port you visited earlier
PSA, the night vision goggles can be obtained without the key from the hostage. You can enter the room using the door to the left of the switch in the catfish feeding room.
@@landonmoser34 I Play on ranger hardcore buddy. The night vision goggles room can be accessed from the catfish room. But i was never able to enter the catfish room from the NVG room on 3 seperate playthroughs. One must enter the catfish room to clear the debris and reach the trolley.
Here's my most useful items list : Reinforced gas mask glass Night vision goggles (pure upgrade obviously) Extra ammo pouch :(except Taiga) Extra Throwables pouch: (especially Taiga) Motion Scanner (for locating surrendering enemy and spiderbugs. I find it hard sometimes) Extra bright flashlight (Only fo that main quest with Giul where you search for the map in Caspia) I don't really find practical use of the other gadgets.

Appreciate the work that went into this just finished a play through on ps5 and that upgrade is night and day compared to the PS4 version also it’s a free upgrade for both digital and disc edition.
After I got all the upgrades from Volga I felt like spongebob from that one episode when he goes to all the pet stores looking for snailbites. Did anyone else feel that way?
PSA finish the volga and get the night vision (btw u dont need a key) then once spring loads up quit to menu then reload volga. I think either u have to get a piece of equipment or u cant just reload the spring then ull have all the gear. Only issue is that ur current weapons get replaceed with defaults
the motion detector was amazing for me the whole game especially during the dead city in the metro, i knew when i could freely roam around and loot and when to be more cautious since it tells me when there are mutants nearby.
Damn the extra bright flashlight is like the only thing I missed, and what I would probably want the most. I don't like using NVG unless I'm stealthing on humans but that's so easy I don't see a need to upgrade NVG. I also hear NVD Amp is bugged or barely does anything besides eat battery.
Just got a gamebreaking glitch at the bridge and now am having to restart Volga from the start, this guide makes getting everything back less painful atleast
There's also one in Caspian, when you and Damir go for water. Quick Save at begining b4 entering the area. Only thing that saved me from redoing all of Caspian. FYI bug is Damir gets broke n does not decent for a buddy climb animation. Good Luck.

7:21 the ladder doesn't appear magically there is a sl@ve called 'Arsen' who downs the ladder before he 0ffe8 himself! you can found his dairy/note there called 'de@th note' in which he describes why he did what he did. Edit: also you can hear the gunshot when you climb the ladder! 7:21 Also he helps you when the second team of enemy comes to attack you he warns you saying "the two legged dogs have arrived" and game describes him as local when he speaks.

May I just add if you reload the last chapter then reload your current chapter you’ll load in with everything you loaded in with the first time you got there , meaning everything you went back to pick up won’t be in your inventory

Somehow i missed the 6:48 bright flashlight on my first playtrough,i saw it but i could interact with it ...so i skip it . Via chapter select i replayed the caspian lvl and i got it and a few seconds the trophy popped. If you are sure you have picked an upgrade, you DONT have to pick everything up again up to that point.
I got the motion scanner on the first level already, can't remember where but it was early on, before the night vision. The night vision can be had without getting the key, there is another way in.

Couple things that really annoyed about this game is that you can't equip multiple upgrades and your materials don't carry over from one location to another. I had about 600 of each material and full ammo transitioning from one area to another and then when starting the next area 180 of each material and 1/2 of all ammo. Reeeeeeeeee
Question can i grab stuff on a run through to grab them all after a finished play through and then hop to another mission to grab the rest (forgot if he said if it was possible or not, i already had 3 things after volga the first run through
You'd think most of these upgrades would be stackable, like the ones for the gas mask, but sadly no. Hard to decide which ones are better. FYI, I agree the ammo pouches are best for the vest, You need all the ammo you can carry for exploring the wastelands.
I find it stupid that there is a armor, mobility and stealth meter but the only way to upgrade those is a single item, was content cut from the game ? or will we get it in a DLC ?
I’m pissed. I’m in dead city, thought that the nv was gone for good and just found out it wasn’t. Now I’m finding out that there are actually upgrades for armor. As cool as this game is, I don’t want to spend 6 hours looking for a metal detector and stuff, ya know? The fact the game doesn’t force you to get it like the nv is dumb as hell imo. And now I can’t go get them. I even missed things like when escaping the bunker of cannibals I ran out of ammo. It would have been so fun to spray thousands of dudes with the mg but I had to just sit there and watch. As much as I love this game it’s really pissing me off rn.

The ladder for the armoured glass has not dropped, I stealthed everyone in area and its not working? This guy is also just standing up there waving the torch around
You can run from the top of the boat to the rock next to the ladder, then try jump continously until you reach the cave. I also killed everyone and the ladder didn't dropped.
i bought the fullest version of the game and received all of them standard, even on the hardest dificulty they are already available. I've no idea on how to get this achievment this way, if i find out i'll comment it bellow.
Weird that they have those armor, visibility, and speed stats when so few upgrades affect either... and do so little to affect them. Pretty sure nothing even affects speed. Should've added armor reinforcing/lightweight armor that trades off armor for speed and visibility and vice versa, or something to that effect.

Getting the key is “key” for ranger hardcore players. You can skip fighting all the humanimals if you have that key.

I only missed the health pouches, thank god, I only used ammo pouches, extra bright flashlight and metal detector.
Ammo pouches are the best because they also silence your movement and it's crucial on ranger hardcore difficulty.

yeah the NVD amplifier had no difference over the normal NV in my game

I wish we didn’t get the metal detector but we got the Universal detector from the Sam’s Story DLC. The UD was actually working and useful.

You can actually also get the Armored Glass for your mask in the Volga. Kinda forgot where.

You can also find the nvg in the basment of the school on the forest level
I think that one is intentional tho. You lose your NVG's when you crash and that was the first place I found them again once I cleared the area.

He's alive when you hear the gunshot, because i have the motion detector equip and it show him blinking green 🤣 that slave trying to trick us

Playing exodus on hardcore is a pain the ass with almost no upgrades. Not game changing but soothes the pain.

The ladder for the armoured glass has not dropped, I stealthed everyone in area and its not working?
This guy is also just standing up there waving the torch around
Enemy's should come from the front in a car after that it's finished but I think getting seen helps
You can run from the top of the boat to the rock next to the ladder, then try jump continously until you reach the cave. I also killed everyone and the ladder didn't dropped.
i bought the fullest version of the game and received all of them standard, even on the hardest dificulty they are already available. I've no idea on how to get this achievment this way, if i find out i'll comment it bellow.

Weird that they have those armor, visibility, and speed stats when so few upgrades affect either... and do so little to affect them. Pretty sure nothing even affects speed. Should've added armor reinforcing/lightweight armor that trades off armor for speed and visibility and vice versa, or something to that effect.
It doesn't turn orange but when you add things to your vest it does affect your speed a little
extra bright flashlight in case we cant see he says...have you seen the spiders?!xd
