Interesting how lighting and model rendering (for Nemesis in this case) turns on and off depending on if the camera has him in shot. Learned alot from this, really cool how these little tricks are done for optimisations here and there.

5:27 if i would see Nemesis with a normal camera fly at me in high speed, I would shit my pants immediately. But still..I said it once and I say it again, Nemesis is still not so scary as Mr X. Amazing video as always ♡
He was never meant to be. Mr. X was the wandering cleanup crew intended to get rid of all witnesses. He was basic brute strength and really only a threat if he caught you by surprise (which is why he was a Ninja in cutscenes but could be heard coming from rooms away in gameplay). His mutation at the end of Leon's campaign in the remake of 2 was primarily due to damage received in a cut-scene (he's still missing about a 4th of his face and the entire claw looks to be scar tissue) and didn't match the original 'Super Form' lore that tied the mutations as a natural process if Tyrants didn't wear limiter clothing. I kinda wish they kept continuity by having the claw/scarred half match the same side of the body Birkin wrecked in Claire's scenario instead of it being tied to random explosions. Nemesis was the constantly evolving unstoppable assassin intended to get rid of specific, highly trained targets. He started off basic brute, became Spider-Man, turned into a Tyrant-Licker (essentially being the first Tyrant who's mutation matched what the T-virus is shown to do) , turned into tentacle-tyrant licker, turned into a giant... larva thing, then bloomed into a wall of flesh and claws. In the original game, he was actually fairly predictable once you've replayed the game. Guy was like a Mega-Man first stage boss and your actual enemy was the camera angle, controls, and resources (oh god the reloading was annoying).

@@shinzero0271 you are right but that's every element of horror, there is nothing scary about not being handicapped, it's about having that disadvantage, you can make nemisis scary, mr x was terrifying and stressful
Its incredible to see how developers actually create these games and the work that goes into keeping an immersive experience while keeping the speed of the game and loading times to a minimum. The extra camera angles you put in, so seeing it from third person and not through the player make it like watching it in a movie format and you get a bigger picture of the whole experience. I also love that you share how you create these videos, its fascinating to see the 'game map' and how's its all hidden behind darkness and fog, before being rendered for the player. This pissed me off so much when I was playing the game. They marketed Nemesis as having a better AI when it comes to persisting in hunting you down. They thibk the fans are stupid. I already noticed 30mins into the game that his encounters are almost all scripted encounters, not due to his AI actually finding you. And the few parts where he actually does go after you, it's not in a stage where he can freely roam. It's in a stage with almost one-way to go through it (one alleyway and whanot). A pretty linear stage map so to speak. It doesn't really require a smart AI to find you in such a stage design does it?
@@charg1nmalaz0r51 I'm not going to say you are wrong, but the point I am making is completely unrelated to what people want. @@amornoro2076 It's almost as if *it exactly IS an action game* or something. Sure, there is a standard survival horror item management and pace-breakers of panic and silence that manage player's tension, but other then that - it feels nothing like something that could scare, let alone Silent Hill-ishly disturb you. It's in part due to you most-likely knowing where the game is going plot-wise, thus being unable to be surprised by it's happenings (you know the characters, the creatures, the locations, the events), but also in part to the fact that you are not doing much dealing with grounded, realistic events... The best example is the respective endings of both the original and the RE3 refake - in the original Jill Magnums the daylights out of Nemesis saying cheesy, but lovable "S.T.A.R.S. ? I'll show you S.T.A.R.S. !" while in the refake it's her with a railgun five times her weight going "Next time take a fucking hint !" When Nemesis shoots a tentacle into the air and then flies up reminds me of the Xbox/PS2 game based off of the first Sam Rami Spiderman movie where Spiderman can shoot his web straight up and connect his web to thin air when outside... somehow.
I think the game would be great, if they laid some stealth elements in it like The Evil within 2. Where the Nemesis patrols arount the streets and you can avoid him. More Horror focused than action with more gore. I would totally love that.
Seeing some of these behind the scenes videos makes me really appreciate all the work that goes into these games, especially the remakes. Capcom does amazing work on their games.
he always just show up when you know where exactly you need to go, and it is always a very straight forward route. Unlike Mr X in RE2, there is still key item to search for and need to do the freaking library puzzle
The way people are describing how their "dream Nemesis" should've been is just plain ignorant. Fans seem to want Nemesis to work off of pathfinding AI and have ability to chase you as you venture throughout the ENTIRE city. The reason why Mr.X's pathfinding and chasing worked so well is how tight and layered the RPD building was. His close quarter combat and range of attacks by punching complemented the tight alleways in Re2. On the other hand, a monster who has a wide range of attacks that expand far beyond close quarter combat would not work out as nicely in this type of game if he worked similar to the Tyrant, especially since RE3 requires you to make a much greater amount of noise compared to RE2. I couldn't imagine how many times you would have to encounter Nemesis if he were to stalk you. If the Nemesis were to follow the player and become sound-based attracted, I'm confident to say that many fans would consider him overpowered and "too difficult" to deal with. No matter what the devs do, the fans will never be happy.
Considering the ps1 game had him follow you, only being scripted AFTER you've knocked him out and being able to follow you into 90% of rooms, plus having a much larger map means this game has no excuse for nemmy being the way he is,people are upset cause they downgraded re3,which was known for its randomization, semu open world and hopelessness and made it a scripted straight beeline to the end, which while fun, isnt re3.
@@thatlat5831 not nostalgia goggles if everything I described is part of its scripted programming, that just proves my point even more that new nemmy was very poorly programmed. Also that still doesnt justify the new games linear map with an enemy whose literally known for following you everywhere not following you for half the damn game. At least classic nemmy was relentless in his pursuit often randomly appearing in your way as that was the whole point of re3,a game that changes every time you play
this is so fun to see the CUT Scenes from another camera angle. hahaha it gives you a complete different experience even if certain things dont fit or match but it shows that putting a camera really close to the player matters mosts, just showing like 30% of the body at once.
After just playing the og resident evil 3, nemesis is just as scripted as the remake. It's not as a big change as we thought, it's just that his appearances felt more random in the original.
I love how he uses his tentacle to latch on to nothing then fly straight up into the air. If you turn your camera upward when this animation occurs, he just disappears when he reaches a point in the air.
Bc they wanted to capitalize off the hype of re2 remake as fast as possible in the laziest way. And it's so great to know the devs who made this crap remake are also making re4 remake!!
@bigevilworldwide1 thats why you make remakes. You expand and improve the classic game, to make it even better What Capcom basically made is an RE3 Demake, not a Remake or reimagining
Even though this remake wasnt as good as 2 or as long, it still amazes me how they make all these scenes fluid and seemless even though theres characters poping in and out of scene, gotta give them credit for that
I mean, this game was clearly a love letter to the original 3. There are so many little touches and references in references that you can see that they put a lot of work into it. It made some big changes, and people are definitely mad about cut areas (I don't miss the clocktower or graveyard at all, those places were the worst for me in the original but I do miss the remnants of the Delta Force vs multiple T-103 battle and hope they add it in as a DLC scenario maybe focused on Nicholai). People act like Capcom has a single studio and that it was actually made in the 1 year between RE2remake and it's release when it had been started around the same general time though we have no idea what problems arose during the development process. They also assume Resistance cut into it's development when Resistance was worked on for nearly as long and had been intended to be a separate game. I honestly think there is no way to win with remakes in general unless you pull a GC RE1 and basically redo the entire game 1:1 and then add onto that rather than making big changes. The FF7 remake also received similar flak initially because of the changes despite having a crazy-intricate combat system, turning a 3-6 hour portion of the original game into a 20-90 hour game depending on how much extra you do, and making some serious changes at the end while also calling out remake 'purists'. I think if RE3's remake had more of it's early game and Spider-Man/Nemesis encounters (and not even necessarily the missing areas, just more city before everything caught fire8) people/purists would've liked it more.
I have a love-hate relationship with this game as the OG is my fave. Damn. I never knew Nemmy was this scripted. I noticed he teleports out of nowhere, but there was no AI for stalking is a problem on its own. They just made him a roadblock and not a pursuer as his name should be. Mr. X had better AI than him and he's supposed to be the stalker of the series. *sigh
Bruh first there aint enough ammo to constantly take Nemesis down, second he can run way faster than u, third he can fucking jump. There is not a single bit of fun to constantly be chased by being who can outclass u in just about everything

Man, after RE2:Remake improved on Mr. X, I was so excited to see how they'd take what they learned and improve upon it with the Nemesis in RE3:Remake. I knew it was a major fucking let down, but this video just further reinforces that.
Would have loved to have something similar as RE2 with Nemesis and Jill in the RPD, a non scripted RPD patrolling like Mr. X. but sadly Jill's visit to the RPD was cut, as well a many other awesome parts such as the clock tower and the park.
2:33 Lmao Nemesis just killed her in a oddly looking way 👀...

Thanks for the Info 👍🏼
@@shinzero0271 the thing is though, og nemisis is really intimidating and scary, remake nemisis is used for scripted action sequences and boss fights, two of the worst things about the resident evil series
@@cameron5367 I don't know if you've played the original RE3 lately but for me, the only thing that made OG Nemesis even close to being scarey was the fixed camera angles and awful player movement. 4:49 similarly, Tyrants from Resident evil outbreak games also jump like this, really high.
Poor Nemesis you deserved so much better for a remake, you're as memorable as Ustanak from RE6.
Mr X was the true Nemesis.
Awww, I liked Ustanak. And Ubistvo

Yet you did remember Ustanak.....
Gotta say, as much as I didn't care for RE6, the Ustanak fights were some of the best parts.
7:21 on nemesis back, a creepy smiling meaty face :)
Truly cool stuff - thank you for sharing!!
Love the irony of him being in the RPD but he still got cut from actually interacting with it.
So I’m sure this is obvious but there’s like a lot of booming in the background when nemisis is not in the area and I’m like 99% sure it’s him jumping around the city. I never saw anyone talk about this tiny detail so I’m not sure if anyone has ever noticed it.
3:40 Now I can't stop thinking about Nemesis tying his shoelaces... or having an Umbrella scientist to do so...
8:46 what amaze me on this scene is the attention to details on lighting choreograph transitions, it makes the dramatic look and it emphasize the frame by frame sequence where should your eyes look in a matter of seconds.
6:10 I thought we left dabbing back in 2015
They put a dab in the Scoob movie
It’s so interesting seeing how all the cinematic stuff are just sorta cut together awkwardly but flow nicely in game.

@@Richterdgf nemisis changed in ways in the original re3, but it was never to the point where it was comically funny, no one cares about change, people care about lazy and uninteresting change, nothing is intense or scary about nemisis in the remake
@@Richterdgf Thing is, RE3 Remake had the same boss fight twice in a row. Exactly the same.
People dont generally want intelligent ais. They claim they do but when they are really good they are frustrating for people to play against.
@@charg1nmalaz0r51 I'm not going to say you are wrong, but the point I am making is completely unrelated to what people want. What I am saying is *they MARKETED nemesis as a superior player-hunting AI with new player-hunting technology in his AI* even though it's not the case. False marketing always pisses me off.
@@raffyguevarra7777 Yeah i get that. I remember a game back in the day where they had screenshots on the back of the case and descriptions of things they had later cut out of the game. I cant remember what game it was now because its like 20 years ago but i remember being pissed at that.

4:59 - Nemmy Poppins
Massive downgrade from Mr X, unfortunately.
Not unfortunately - complete expected. Who would ever expect a licensed thing to be better then the original property that it is based on these days ? Unless from somebody who's career and goodwill is on the line, that is ? Money is the only reason these "refakes" exist.
Nemesis was wayyy more intense. He’s not a downgrade per se, he just has a really small part. It’s a shame, cuz that part was amazing.
!" while in the refake it's her with a railgun five times her weight going "Next time take a fucking hint !"
It's ridiculous cartoon reality bullshit, that's why you can't really take it even semi-seriously, as such - simply cannot get really scared by anything.
Amraa Norov the original RE3 wasn’t scary. It was an action game with lame controls.

When Nemesis shoots a tentacle into the air and then flies up reminds me of the Xbox/PS2 game based off of the first Sam Rami Spiderman movie where Spiderman can shoot his web straight up and connect his web to thin air when outside... somehow.
Even the games acknowledged that
It’s interesting to see how often the lighting changes inbetween shots for the cinematics, just like in an actual film with different lighting setups.

I think the game would be great, if
they laid some stealth elements in it like The Evil within 2. Where the Nemesis patrols arount the streets and you can avoid him. More Horror focused than action with more gore. I would totally love that.

@@Viichan777 Um here's a funfact Nemesis in PS1 was also scripted take off your nostalgia goggles mate
7:57 is going to be my new nightmare
this is so fun to see the CUT Scenes from another camera angle. hahaha it gives you a complete different experience even if certain things dont fit or match but it shows that putting a camera really close to the player matters mosts, just showing like 30% of the body at once.

I love this channel so much!! Another great video, thank you so much for continuing to make these videos 👍👍 it's much appreciated.
