- Playing along Emil Rottmayer's "Mega" on my mid-'80s Series A Roland G-707 clone. This crispy crunch indie rock tone was made with Garageband's Matchless DC-30 emulation and a couple pedals, specifically a tape delay and a spring reverb, which are always on, and a vintage distortion which kicks in at different spots (you can see the pedal being activated/deactivated on my laptop's display).

Nice work! Looking forward to the album! Love that guitar
Cheers! Yeah, it's gonna be its 1 year anniversary soon and I still haven't grown tired of that weird shape it has haha
Really enjoyed this.
Well thank you! Really enjoy playing guitar lately even though that has meant neglecting the keytar a bit
So smooth and hot!~
Thank you! That's the goal, just trying to add something to a song that's already smooth and hot 😁
A classic. Great job! I loved the strumming with the whammy bar at 1:41. Keep it up!
Thanks buddy! Yeah that's my favorite part too :D
EXCELLENT
Cheers 🤘🤘
AWESOME
🙏🙏🙏
I loved this! It's a great break from the metal I usually listen to.
Cheers! What do you usually listen to?
I usually listen to a lot of deathcore and metallic hardcore bands but also stuff like Glassjaw, Hail the Sun, Circa Survive. But I do like a lot of other things too. I'm actually upset and sad your channel doesn't have more views and subscribers. I don't understand. I think you're super interesting and talented and love to see the different keyboards, keytars, etc. I don't want you to lose who you are because I love it. But I wonder if you tried to bring some 80s/90s synthwave flair to some metal like the UA-camr/Tiktoker Misstiq, if it would help get you more attention to build off of. Like "Lorna Shore but 80s" kind of attention grabbing video. She adds a lot of synth to popular songs from the death metal and deathcore scene and I see she has a lot of success in terms of views & even collaborations. I totally understand that's not you (or even the style of music you're into). Or maybe you can kind of do those type of music added videos. I see this in metal a lot. Like something doing something in a video and some artist adds their guitar or drums to make it even more hardcore/brutal. Like someone screaming and that adding a breakdown to it. I think you could do the 80s synth version of this but instead of someone screaming or doing something brutal, it's like a car driving fast or a love scene or just some situation going on and you add your 80s flair to it; like short snippets of "this would be the soundtrack to this moment/scene/clip". I hope that makes sense.
But I love your vibe and hope more people discover and appreciate it. I'm also a big fan of Japanese bands like Buck-Tick, Dir en grey, Luna Sea, Dies in Cries but heck, I'll even listen to Wink sometimes. I've even seen Pertubator live. I have to remind myself to get your album when out to support you. I think you're great. @@TheNeonSyndicate
A long form version could be like what channels like "imcyborgbutthatsok" does; it's where I discovered bands like Dream, Ivory@@TheNeonSyndicate
@@CheapSushi Dude, thank you so much. Appreciate that a lot! I actually used to play drums in a metal band in my early 20s. Was more of a symphonic/gothic thing in the style of Finnish bands like Nightwish and Sonata Arctica, but I would occasionally dive into related hybrid genres like symphonic black metal - to this day I enjoy listening to Dimmu Borgir. One of my favorite bands these days is Animals As Leaders, but I also like Plini and Polyphia. Gonna check out some of the bands you mentioned and that TikToker. I can definitely see that 80s + modern metal mix working. Have you ever heard of the Australian band Voyager? They do something of that sort and I gotta say it's pretty damn cool!
@@CheapSushi Thanks for the suggestions, def checking those out!
I wanna play guitar with you sometime haha. This needs some harmonization guitar duel ;)
Let's do this! Get in touch at the email address in the "about" section of my channel and let's work out the details :D
@@TheNeonSyndicate oh for real?! Sounds like a plan!
@@FtsTexx Sure. This should be fun 🤘🤘
Sorry dude, you're just too cool for school
