I think from this position my eyes were about 5-10cm higher than the camera, but since the helmet is always tilted downwards a bit you need it higher and pointing up more
the 4cyl boxer sounds pretty good, yeah. the gearbox is the iconic sound you are hearing the most of, though. Love the sound of Porche straight cut gears.

Yeah racing games don't do real life justice in terms of feeling, though I have to say the track was pretty dry because there were 35 cars going around.
😊 keep up the racing!!

Most drivers pay to participate, I think in this field it was probably around 90% of drivers who paid and a few that could either drive for free or get paid to drive. Unless you are at the top 1% there is not really any money to be made apart from driver coaching.
A lot of the drivers in this field are people that have successful businesses of their own. The others get sponsored and some can rely on family to help them
Most start from either karting or from simracing. If you do karting you usually need a lot of money to be competitive at a high level so nowadays simracing is the best way to start getting some experience! After that you can get your racing license and/or join trackdays to get real world experience, and then some form of cupracing is the most attainable way into racing.
If you have money you are already one step ahead of most, but I’d still recommend buying a sim rig and/or getting a kart first to see if you like it enough. When you’ve gained some experience you can try to do some trackdays and then progress towards getting a racing license. Hope that answers your question, but feel free to ask more questions if you want to know more!
Please move camera so the track is seen. That would help me appreciate your pace. Also I’ve enjoyed your racing.
Yeah definitely, only found out too late that it was too low :( Next video is a bit better!

Flat six symphony is the best sound❤️
I understand that sound design is not an easy thing, but I just want a sim that can get the sound just as good as this camera is able to pick it up
Actually mods do it pretty well. I have no idea how a whole team of "competent" people like in iracing can't even get close.

Since there's no sound proofing materials in a cup car, do drivers wear earplugs while racing?
Yeah most drivers wear foam earplugs for the radio, which together with the helmet blocks enough sound to not go deaf😂
