I just lost my beautiful girls, Blueberry (youngest out of 5) and Galaxy (oldest out of 5). They were really special to me, and I took care of them since they were little eggs. My heart is hurting so much u got no idea. I only have 3 now, one girl and 2 boys. The girls lived in one big cage and the other one is all alone. I guess they were sick and transmitted it to one another. R.I.P Blueberry and Galaxy🥀 Fly High 🕊

How to calm them and let them know you have good intentions when having to hold them to help them? Have you done one of those?

My budgies are oddly terrified of insects like when there out of the cage and they see a fly they will fly away and when there in the cage they just run away 😅 ❤❤

I adore my birds but I have a serious Ice addiction. Not just mind over matter, a medical condition called PICA. A serious vitamin and mineral deficiency. For me, my lack of said deficiencies have almost killed me, literally and figuratively.
I eat 8 to 13lbs of ice every day.
So as you can see, ice is a life or death matter. I love my birds but I love my life, hubs and kids even more. Please forgive me 🙏🏼

I used to change the room my budgies are in the fly but now I’ve stopped doing that and they fly in the room they are normally in and they are a lot happier

Hey alen my budgies have laid eggs and they are hatched so can you please help me how to take care of them.
I am going through this now too.. my 2 babys are 3 weeks old. Let the parents care for them and just leave them alone for about 2 weeks, just peek dont try to touch or anything with parents.. I made that mistake and stressed out the mom and she started biting and ripping out feathers, I had to remove her at 2 week stage, the dad now cares for babys alone. So just clean cage and keep a lot of food more then you normally would, and boiled eggs and crushed all up, even if your bird never had eggs it's great for them. At 2.5 weeks you can start interacting with your birds as and maybe babys if your parent birds let you. At about 3 week you can take them out and start handling them plus you'll notice A LOT of baby poop.. good time to clean there nest too.. hand feeding is a lot of work so definitely let parents do there thing, it's best way. But def peek daily to see babys crops are fill so you know there being fed well. Good luck!!💗🐣

Kinda weird question.. can one clutch have different biological fathers?.. so my female Pickle had her first clutch, we have two baby about 3 weeks old now. Now I thought we had 2 pairs of girl/boy.. Pickle and blueberry then Melody and Trucker... well I thought Melody was a girl but definitely wasn't.. Melody is Melvin now.. I was at work and watched the bird camera's and was shocked that all 3 mated with her in one day. I put Melvin and Trucker in there own cage when I came home. Blueberry and Pickle been partner for long time so they were fine together... Well... the babys are 3 weeks old and have there patterns with feathers, one looks exactly like Melvin and the other looks like Trucker.. blueberry is all blue.. trucker is mostly white with blue belly and bum and Melvin is gray with yellowish head and white wings.. Pickle is mostly bright Green.. neither babys look like Blueberry or Pickle. Could 1 beTrucker and 1 be Melvin's baby? Google said Yes.. but I want real person to tell me.. Thanks!

Hi i want to ask you something because i couldn’t find any information about it.
Our relatives gave their budgie to us for a week to look after when they are not here. We also have a budgie. Yesterday our relatives came to take budgie from us. While my sister changes the sheet on the ground of the guest budgies cage, i was holding her in my hand and our budgie was there. I don’t know if he thought that i’m hurting the guest budgie or if he jealous of me. He literally doesn’t interact with me today. He is okay with rest of the family. And i don’t know what to do. He was a budgie kind of screaming when i leave the room, he likes kisses from me, and talk back whenever i talk with him etc. He literally run away from me right now. Why is that happening any idea?

I NEED SOME HELP!! I have a pet male budgie and he used to have a mirror in his cage but we took it out after the first 3 months we had him. Now he seems to be overly obsessed with his reflections wherever he can see himself. He has found some locations in the kitchen like the oven, stove, tap and even our door and I am really worried that he is going to hurt himself and even fly away if we leave the door open. He is very overly obsessed with his reflection and keeps flying there and when I try to take him away he bites me and then flies back to his reflection. He is on an all-seed diet with some vegetables here and there I have tried to change him to pellets but he has no interest in anything at all apart from seeds. He is a year old and I live in Perth and I need some help with this? I'm not sure if it's something hormonal but any advice will make a big difference! Thank you
Hello.. Have you thought of getting another budgie for him? They do a lot better in pairs.. I had this problem with my girl Pickle few years ago.. she's about 7 yesrs old now, but Her first partner died suddenly after first 2 years together and for about 6 months all she would do was stare at herself in mirror and talk away.. I just figured it was a bird thing but i asked bunch of my friends that have birds they all said shes probably looking for affection even if it's in the mirror. So I bought another bird, BEST thing I did!! Pickle is a totally different bird now with her partner Blueberry. The overwhelming mirror time as completely stopped almost immediately he was with her. Maybe a partner might help. Also it doesn't have to be a girl for him either. I also have 2 boy budgies that absolutely love each other and do great as a pair which happens a lot with boy parakeets, there bonds are strong! I hope this helps and good luck!
@@elizabethg2715 Thank you so much I am trying to convince my parents to get a second budgie but they keep ignoring me and say its double the work (which I am willing to do double) and they just say that they will constantly be chirping all day and they will be so loud. So I am kind of stuck here
@@jessygonecrazyy1791 good morning! Yea I understand that.. my son was the one that bought Pickle 7 years ago.. I wasn't happy but now 7 years later we have 8 birds. Lol my pickle and blueberry had there first babys. We have 2 babys 3 weeks old now.. mind you I wasn't breeding either. And clean up after one is same as cleaning up after two, but I totally understand as a parent an it can be loud at Times with more then one.
This could be an option maybe get your bird a fake bird that is similar to parakeets size and look. I know it sounds silly but I've personally seen my friends parakeet respond very well to a toy bird. She would treat it like a real bird and talk to it and pretend to feed it, her parakeet was lonely but also faught every new bird she got for him, and he did extremely well with toy bird. I know your situation is different but it sounds like your bird is looking for another bird even if its himself. Hope this helps.
