Walking in Painswick: Among the Yew Trees

A short walk around St. Mary's Parish Churchyard which has a spectacular number of closely trimmed yew trees. I shall not pretend this is anything but a walk around in circles as I have always been fascinated by the strange shapes and texture of this place. A unique combination of nature and abstract art.
It's a popular destination but, luckily, not overflowing with tourists even on a clear sunny Sunday morning.

Thank you for the beautiful tour of the yew trees. The landscaping is incredible. I can only imagine all of the effort that the gardening team must put into caring for the grounds at St Mary's. This is really a special place. I can see why it would be a popular destination for tourist. This was very nice. Thank you so much for sharing. It looked like a very beautiful day. 🍂🍁😊

Thank you. Obviously, there is more to Painswick than this churchyard but I wanted to be able to walk around this yard and see all the strange shapes that the yews have been fashioned into. The cat, unfortunately, was a little disturbed by the man with the camera but settled back down again in seconds, looking away from the camera of course... Cats are great scene stealers but if you want to photograph them, they often decide to spurn you. Thanks for the support by the way. There are so many people now walking with cameras that I feel the need to experiment a little just to keep it fresh. Thanks again. See you soon.
