If you have Ford Focus and you to bleed the cooling system on your Ford Focus MK3 we will show you that. We will demonstrate how to bleed the cooling system on a 2.0 liter engine and automatic transmission but it should apply to multiple engines since they use the same design of radiators. It is very important to bleed the cooling system every time you had a coolant leak, or your drained your coolant antifreeze for repairs such as radiator replacement, water pump replacement, and other. In this video we will demonstrate how to bleed the cooling system on a 2013 Ford Focus but the procedure to bleed the cooling system should apply to the whole first generation Ford Focus.

Would that be the same for a 2004 st170

Hi, I’m a qualified Bosch technician and have been in the industry for many years.
I watched your video on fitting a new AC condenser to a 2.0 ltr Ford Focus.
Thanks for putting in the effort to list the video I found in quite helpful in completing the procedure.
I would like to advise you on a couple of points.
First, don’t try and dismantle the radiator/condenser/fan/air dam stepper motor assembly in the vehicle..too hard and you can break clips!!
It’s much easier to remove the whole assembly then dismantle on the bench.
Second, the hole and chamber under the air cleaner assembly is for backfire not to drain water from the air cleaner assembly. There is however a small hole in the backfire chamber to release any water that might enter the unit.
Third, avoid blowing compressed air into the cooling system,. Most cooling systems don’t have heater taps only air flaps so you can expand the heater core very quickly and cause it to leak.
Well done on your presentation.

Thank you for all the videos you make I keep finding myself back on your videos over the years.
Will that cause the fan to not turn on
Shouldn't need to raise the car and disconnect that line. That vent tube goes to the top of the coolant reservoir and will air out for you.
I was thinking the same thing.
Thanks, I just had that little reservoir hose break while putting in a new MAF sensor. It dumped all my coolant. I limped it home and I'm waiting for a new one. This info is important.
@@Fifth313ment wish id known just how FRAGILE it was before leaning in to check all hoses, and for leaks! Yeah it's broke in like 5 places including right at the degas overflow clip. FML
My obd 2 tool reads sharps up and down on my coolant is it good or bad?
I hate to ask, but am stuck in a Northerneastern city inMaine, frigid temps, 6 nights ago, (and after I popped the hood to my '14 Focus SE-and while cold, not started/idling- I topped off the coolant while checking other fluids, then replaced the cap. Started the car, and ran the vehicle (at idle to keep warm, as I was awaiting arrival from a traveling friend) for about 4.5 hours. During this time, operational temp remained halfway (190°F?), And car was blowing perfect, ste-temp heat the entirety of the almost 5 hour period.
We went for coffee, so I shut the engine off while in the coffee shop, [a good 2 to 3 hours] said goodbye to my friend, then went out and started my car. I let it run about 10 minutes
Now, not even 200 feet down Main St. I FIRST NOTICED IT WAS BLOWING COOL/COLD AIR ONLY, THEN IMMEDIATELY AVERTED MY EYES TO THE ENGINE TEMP GUAGE, {{since my informational LCD screen went kibotch [black]the first time my transmission failed completely, saying "Transmission HOT!" "Pull over to safety", right smack in the middle of the busiest intersection on Rte 1 Southbound, by what was once a decent shopping Mall and only had Neutral.)~this was around 92,000 mi.~}}where I watched the ENGINE TEMP QUICKLY RISE.
So I IMMEDIATELY pulled in to a parking area, and shut it off.
••~1ST QUESTION:. HONEST OPINION PLEASE:.......
WHAT IS THE PROBABILITY/ LIKELIHOOD THAT--
(+++EVEN*AFTER* IDLING FOR 5 HOURS, allthewhile BLOWING GREAT HEAT, AND REMAINING AT NORMAL OPERATING TEMP+++)--THERE IS AIR TRAPPED SOMEWHERE ???!
SO AFTER THE HOOD WAS POP I WENT OUT AND WENT AROUND to check hoses and check for leaks and when I leaned in to check to the lines and/hoses, for cracks , leaksgoing through the heater for four hoses rather and when I leaned in and broke (in several pieces) the overflow reservoir hose the (small line with clamp to radiator valve that you were adamant in the video on being careful, since it was known to be fragile)into in the video.
I am currently attempting to patch it the best I can in my dire circumstances (live in my car, btw)since it's a dealer item and I have to wait for it to be special-request ordered & shipped to our local Ford dealer and need to move my vehicle b4 it gets towed away.....Is standard, yellow, flexible air-compressor hose.
•••2nd QUESTION:.Just in your opinion, is this line okay to withstand not only the pressure, but the temp the coolant, as it's all I have at my disposal and/or engine can get?
I done a coolant change. I didn’t do what you done with the rad. Will this affect the heater matrix? My heater matrix
Is not blowing out hot air.
Note, the car has been run as a daily for a month since
Is there a bleeder valve on the transmission next to the battery? Saw a hose when changing spark plugs that doesn't seem to connect to anything.
I can tell that you worked for ford....or someone that worked for Ford thought you how to do the 30 seconds sequence... unless you found it in the computer....good job
At my car nothing comes out ? You have any idea why?
Is it the same way for 2013 ford except ??
Mines leaking what are the two pieces called ? So I can order new parts
My mecghanig did head repair gasket and still kosin coolant pls help
Surely if you fill up to max, leave the cap open and run it, the car will push the air out anyway? So long as you keep an eye on levels and temps it'll sort itself out
The hose at 5:32 on my car won’t go all the way in. It seems like the part of my radiator isn’t deep enough to get the full clip in but the hose looks no different than this hose in this video. Help would be deeply appreciated
Hi Devin, how did you solve your situation ? I am facing the same issue
@@guillermocordoba8862 I literally cut the plastic thing around the hose and pulled it off up to the rubber washer. The thin part of the hose goes in no problem and the rubber washer and clip keep it in. Got my car running like new now 🤘 I was pissed that’s what I had to do tho.
@@devinzorn2077 thanks!!! for the tip !!!
Great info guys
What if that hose is broken? Would I need a whole new hose or can you replace part of the hose?
That's what I'm attempting to do w/ the aircompressor hose. (All I have at my fingertips, gotta wait on part from dealership
@beauthomson9944 I'll let u know how far I get with a patched up line
hello brother i had a problem with my ford fusion 2010 overheating,i changed my thermostart and burp the air out bt still the car is overheating,,any advice ..?
Hi just in the minute 5.23, you show how to plug the hose into the radiator, I had tu buy the hose, it is new, but when I try tu put it, I can't, any tip?, I think it is the same situation as Devin Zorn
Thank you for an Excellent video and description.
That’s not how you bleed it... the reservoir tank is the highest point in the cooling system. No need to pull hoses under the headlight. If the car is cold you should be able to start the engine and bleed it through the reservoir. Fill until no more bubbles and level is at max when at operating temp.
I have a ford galaxy and cant find bleed screws either. So I just turn the engine on with the cap off and the air will just bubble out that way?
@@schmo9425 yeah so fill up your coolant up to the max line, start the vehicle and let it run for a while. Keep an eye on the reservoir, you’ll see the level drop and some bubbles come out, add fluid as necessary until the coolant stop dropping and there are no more bubbles. Goodluck!
Thanks guys! Will try this once I've located and fixed the coolant leak.
@@schmo9425 no problem! I’d still try and refer to a service manual for your vehicle if possible!
@Siye Boss looks like coming from heater matrix/core!
Good work freind
Thank's
make a video how to change a radiator of a ford escape 2015 and bleed the system.
It's the same method like this
Guys,guys guys 😂
Fuck off
Fuckin adverts. Can't be arsed.
im confused. here you say you couldn't find an emptying valve so you removed the hose.
but in other video you showed a same car model mk3 focus with an emptying valve:
ua-cam.com/video/kizluYWxzag/v-deo.html
can you explain?
I think they're referring to the bleeder port on the Ford Fiesta. So instead you have to pull this return line fitting.
