Thank you so much for this video. You like the only youtuber who talk about pcs, gpus, and cpus, for creators. Everybody else only ever talk about gaming, and I don't game. So thank you SO so much!!!!!!!
Just wanted to say that your channel is so helpful for people who want every detailed info related to PC for creative work bcs videos like these are so less on YT with correct information and yes with that High Quality videos also 🙌✨. Thankyou for making videos for us:)
Sir I don't have words to explain how much this video is helpful for me.🙂 I literally exhausted from a week searching components on Google and Amazon.😰 Then I found this amazing and reliable video.🤩💯✨ Thank you very much sir for making this video.❤️ This is the best useful and knowledgeable video for me this month.🙏🙏🙏🔥💯✨❤️
It's very technical, and not really relatable to performance in creative applications. The more the better as always, but there are other factors that make much more of a difference :)
Great info again. Really enjoyed it. Thank you. My question it this. I'd love to go with a mac book pro but I've only ever used PC. I have all the iPads and iPhone but never a mac computer. Is the learning curve moving to mac from windows steep?
Amazing. Really appreciate your videos. I learn so much. I'm been thinking of build a PC, and with the help of your videos, I'm feeling more confident, and think I will take the plunge and do it myself. However, I don’t really use the editing softwares that you mention. I will be using it, predominantly, for 3d Animation, and using Maya. Will these PC's that you recommend, work for this? Or, can you do a best bang for buck PC build video, for animators? Thanks so much
Yeah, for that price it's really hard to beat for pretty much anything. If you can and your budget allows, upgrade the CPU to 12600k but then you need a cooler as well so you're probably about $200 more expensive than this.
Your videos have been incredibly useful. I used to look at pre-builds and didn't know if the price was good or not. Now, I'm able to assess the spec and weigh up the value. Really great information. You look a bit orange today! I don't remember noticing this on previous videos. White balance? Saturation?
I built this setup with 64 GB of Ram and 3TB NVME SSD's and I did it for about $1000. I run DaVinci Resolve 18 and just edited my first 4K video. It runs smooth as butter on Ubuntu. My boot times are about 4 seconds. I have zero complaints. The ONLY thing I would have done differently is save up a week longer to buy a motherboard that overclocks the 12400. Other than that, you can't do much better for the money.
Lauri your video are always so helpful and informative, I know you know it but your video quality is just ✨💯 . Wow dude this is budget all rounder PC for so many things specially video editing/ after effects! Btw if we use Mobo like msi b660 mortar for future upgrade so we can add like i7 12700k current one or maybe next gen in that Mobo what you think?
Built my PC for content creation, and I definitely recommend the 3060 12gb. The 3050 8gb is way too underpowered, and I really think a 3060 12gb is the minimum standard for an entry level creator build. You can definitely save a ton of money for $1,000 I could’ve upgraded to a 4060.
Microcenter (specifically the one in MA) has the craziest low prices on Intel CPUs in my experience. I've built a few PCs over the last 8 years and they always came through with the lowest price. $169.99 for the 12400 currently. $389.98 bundled with the B660 Creator ProArt DDR4
Thank you for the IDEAS.. Planning to buy a new Creator PC by the end of the Month (March). Does 6 cores really good in Multi tasking also? Because I'm a type of person who always have alot of Application, Tabs, Games Open simultaneously or should I upgrade it to 8 cores
thats a great choice of case, ive got it in my build (12600k + gtx titan X) and it looks amazing. i would recommend replacing the stock front fans with 140mm rgb fans though for better performance and asthetics. if you get an nzxt kraken cooler those fans look amazing
Thanks a lot for the Video. That’s what I was looking for. This will be my first build and I have a little question. You mentioned that I need a Wifi card. What would that wifi and Bluetooth card look like or is there a similiar price ranged motherboard with Wi-Fi included? I don’t have Ethernet cable so I need a good Wi-Fi connection. And I also would like to add that thunderbolt connection. Any advise on a thunderbolt 4 card? Thanks in advance. Love your Videos
nice video. if you got some extra budget, would you recomend upgrading the cpu to i7 12700 (non k/kf/f) and 3060 (already owned). the other part mostly will be the same
Amazing information like always in your videos. What are your thoughts on the Corsair MP600 PRO LPX 2TB? Is this a good SSD for creators? Does it really beat out the FireCuda 530?
That case with the owl on the front looks really cool. Is that something you can buy or something you made? The pc's you make always look really clean and professional
Love your UA-cam channel. My question: if I can purchase the rtx 3050 or the 6600xt for the same price, which would be better for lightroom and DaVinci??
Thank you for the great video! Quick question, Can I use the Intel Core i5-12600K or the i7-12700K, suggested in your $1500 build? Is there any performance benefit for doing so? Thanks.
Question: If I find a Ryzen 9 5900X or even Ryzen 9 5950X at around the same price like a Ryzen 5 5600X and a RTX 3060 12GB for about the same price like a RTX 3050, should I buy them and keep the rest of the components from your video or they might not be compatible? Hope you see this and give your thoughts. Thanks! ❤️
Any budget monitors you would recommend? I'm building the $1500 pc build that you recommended but can't find any videos about monitors that are somewhat affordable.
Have you tested 12100? It has the same igpu as the 12400. I'm interested in the premiere pro performance. Want to know if the igpu can offset and compete with 6 cores 12400
This video is really helpful for me. Will go for different peripherals' video of your channel. Hope that will also help me to clear my confusion. One thing will you please clarify for me, is this setup enough for After Effects cc as well? Thanks in advance.
Nice vid as always. Question, I watched a video of you opting for a 3060 12gb for editing. Will i get the same or much more power when i opt for 3060ti 8gb? Really confused about the 12 and 8gb. Thanks!
Can you recommend any specs for buying a PC laptop for video editing or is a mac better, no so much looking at cost unless it's outrageous? I want to be portable and be able to also do live streams and use the same system.

Very fine video. A++ 👍 I have experience building PCs with low and high budgets. Regardless, your content has inspired me with new ideas. Kindest regards, neighbors.
nowdays even integrated graphics can support 2x4K monitors (I believe intel igpu can run up to 4 of them, but don't quote me on this one). So no, you won't need a second GPU, any GPU will be able to run multiple 4K monitors
thank you so much. this will be my build for sure at this price but in case things go better than expected (fingers crossed) do you have a recommendation for above $1000?
Thanks! I watched that your video on the i7. As a person often confused by and uninterested in tech, I must say thank you for making your videos so easy to understand, helpful and pleasing to watch.
I have been wanting to build another pc for Photo editing. Mine is getting a little out dated. This build sounds like this is just what I am looking for. I never know what would be good with what. This helped alot. I was able to get all the hardware from Amazon. The only thing I was wondering about is the size of the 500gig ssd card and if it would be big enough.
Great job explaining this project,UR my favorite, I sit and stare at my screen for hours. I buy & sell stocks all day plus research stocks them, That`s alot of text to read and when you are on your watch list prices are constantly changing. So my question is can you improve on this ?? i don`t know were to go better monitor more memory or better Graphic card. Thanks in advanced, $$
Hi, you said that the I5 12400F is a bad choice over the i512400 because of the IGPU. Is the integrated IGPU still beter then a AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT in video editing? which i have. Thanks in advance for responding
would you recommend or is there a incompatibility if I sub the GPU for a ASUS ROG Strix NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 V2 OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card 12GB and the CPU for a Intel Core i5-12600K
Quick question. I already have a nearly new11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400 @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz I'd like to reuse it in the build I want to start with using these recommendations. Do you foresee and compatibility or functionality issues? I will be doing some low level "hobby" video editing so I want to save where I can but still get the best with performance with what I have.
Yes, you need to make sure the motherboard is compatible with your CPU (or get a motherboard which is compatible with your CPU and all the other parts).
Brother this build can do 4k video editing ik as you said 🙌😀 but can it do multiplayer video editing smoothly right? With the color grading stuff+effects in premiere and also good/high level of after effects?
Well.... yes and NO, depending on the codecs and what your workflow is. Bear in mind this is JUST a 1k build, so you can't expect it to do everything. :)
@@adityadivine9750 still 64gb ram is hard to get for a 2000$ build and it might bottleneck because if you get such a type of ram then you have to sacrifice other components
I have a good question. (At least I think so) I have a ryzen 5950x with 64gm ddr4 4000 mhz2 ram 2 960 2gb nvme and Radeon pro duo gpu all liquid cooled. (Radeon pro duo gpu) .I think this is my weak link. What gpu would you recommend ? I use AE, PR, PS….. I’m wanting to get as good as a card as I can get for now as I know it should last through upgrading other parts several times.
I basically did the same comment but for some reasons yt decided that was offensive or something. anyway, you are right, HU did a video about many motherboards and I believe taht one was at the bottom of the charts.... for 15$ more one could get a ASUS TUF GAMING B660M-E D4, good VRMs that can handle an i7 and has better IO
@@mastroitek I run a z690 prime d4 with a 12700k, I dunno if it's the same VRMs but been running since January this year with no power delivery issues whatsoever
Yeah, that's true guys, but for 12400 completely fine... but if expect to run i5+ chips on it, better to go with Tuf or abit higher priced mobos that have better VRMs! 👍
@@lamartrey I'm not familiar with that board so I can't say. But in general bad VRMs don't cause the pc to shut down or anything like that. If they are not sufficient for feeding the CPU they will just run really hot (100-110C) and throttle to prevent damage. So bad VRMs could silently hold back your CPU and potentially be a point of failure because of the high temperature. But yeah, VRMs are anyway pretty tough to die, so it might take "a while"
Ok, I put all the parts into a list on Amazon and it came out to be around $1031. If I don't want to drop that much today, can I just buy the case, mother board and other parts to start the build and do it over maybe a month?
Luckily I was able to find a 3050 before seeing this video but I just found a 1660 ti for cheaper directly from asus and I saw a benchmark test that the 1660 ti outperformed the 3050 in resolve. But that was with both using a 12600k cpu. So is the 3050 better for the 12400 or would the 1660 ti still outperform?
Having a GPU is also a good backup, so at least you can still use your PC if something happens to your card. Personally would go for the msi b660m-a pro for the motherboard, best bang for the buck motherboard in my research (no usb-c though, has front header if you get a case with front usb-c...) or if you can get on special the msi mag mortar which is better all round and amazing VRM heatsinks for the price so no problem running a more powerful i7 or i9 if you want to upgrade later..
Hey bro I saw a brochure with pc offer worth 800 dollars and the specs are 12700k Rtx 3070 with case monitor keyboard and other peripherals. So is it a scam
Thanks to your advice - I've managed to avoid those mistakes. But you have to put in the work searching for deals. I got a deal on a silent case £48!! I get 128gb to use DDR4 3 x M.2 nvme, I saw the Arctic cooler you used on another build and thought - yup that's for me. I got a Corsair I was going to use on another build and didn't so I've got the PSU sorted. I needed a good GPU I got an Asus RTX with 6Gb. I don't use Adobe - since I left Uni' - Oh look there's my Board the Pro Art - cost a bit more but worth it. Yes I got the i5 10th gen. When they get here. I have an older pc I was going to take down and though Ooh! NAS! Or external server at least. So I'm looking at that next. I just need more drone practice now to get those top shots for my outside adventure videos. Nice one fella.
I am really struggling with my build. I can afford more, but do I need it? My use is 4k editing in Resolve 18 (Panasonic GH5S/iPhone 12 HDR) with color correction, not grading yet. I don't do much in term of masks, but there may be some object tracking and then attaching an image to it. Right now I am on a 2018 Mac Mini i3, and the biggest issues is it lags in playback. The render times are long, but that is less of an issue. I am also going to be streaming, and that raises the question of if this motherboard's X16 will be reduced for the GPU if I have a capture card in another slot, and two 1TB NVME's Samsung 980) Does any of that matter with this GPU / build level. Great ideas and any input is appreciated.
Yoo! I have some dilema right now bc i was thinking in chance my GPU soo my setup is Ryzen 5 3600x / RX 580 8gb / 32gb 3200mhz and i work edit or animated mosthly of the time in 1080p or 2k and sometimes i work in 4k but i used the proxy for a better smoothes workflow and the RX 580 works very decent, obviusly its not the sweet spot but its very decent the workflow. Soo i was looking for a change my GPU and im not decided yet what GPU im going to chose. I was thinking in the RTX 3070/3060 or RX 6600XT/6700XT for the price its kind of more cheap the RX 6600XT but i guess the NVDIA its a better option. What do you think? And thanks for yours videos!
Depends on your use case. If it's for a "Creator" pc then the RTX graphics cards would benefit you more because of their CUDA cores with CUDA acceleration in editing applications. If it's for "gaming" then the RX 6600 in raw, game rasterization performance beats the RTX cards but when the RTX DLSS and Ray tracing performance is taken into account then they may outpace the RX 6600. Look up reviews and comparisons for more details.
If it's the first time you've seen this channel I recommend you don't bother going elsewhere really, the advice you get is honest and by a guy who know his sh*t. Listen, watch and learn! Sub and like.
Would it be worth to go for the i5 12600k instead of the 12400? It's 100€ more, but I heard that you'ill need a more expensive MOBA (z690) and a more expensive cooler. Anyone any advice? Thanks in advance!
You will need to buy a cooler as the 12600k doesn't send a stock cooler, it produces a little more heat but not much unless you plan to overclock. You won't need a different motherboard
good, informative job as always. Unfortunately you forgot to add sales tax: in the US you're talking around 10% depending on the state you're shipping to - could be more, could be less - and in the UK it's going to be a lot more of course. And then there's shipping on top. Still, you pretty much nailed it with the board, CPU, GPU and RAM. Good job!
@@theTechNotice right but you're dealing in US prices which would have to be converted to UK equivalents, and of course if you're shipping from the US and somehow getting around local (US sales) and import taxes then that needs to be accounted for. Maybe there's a way of doing that - it'd be great if you could find one!
I live in india and here the 12400f is almost 80-90$ cheaper than the 12600k, should i still go for the one with the i gpu ? Which one would be better, i5 with igpu and a 3060 and an i5 without igpu and a 3070, in india both these config costs the same

I made one from whoismatt channel
$750 for almost my photo and video
Great job explaining this project,UR my favorite, I sit and stare at my screen for hours. I buy & sell stocks all day plus research stocks them, That`s alot of text to read and when you are on your watch list prices are constantly changing. So my question is can you improve on this ?? i don`t know were to go better monitor more memory or better Graphic card. Thanks in advanced, $$
Very helpful 👍
Hi, you said that the I5 12400F is a bad choice over the i512400 because of the IGPU. Is the integrated IGPU still beter then a AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT in video editing? which i have. Thanks in advance for responding
It would be an addition to your GPU not a replacement :)
Your answer is very helpful. Have a great day :)@@theTechNotice
would you recommend or is there a incompatibility if I sub the GPU for a ASUS ROG Strix NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 V2 OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card 12GB and the CPU for a Intel Core i5-12600K
Now, go for it :)
Yes
Well.... yes and NO, depending on the codecs and what your workflow is. Bear in mind this is JUST a 1k build, so you can't expect it to do everything. :)
Confusion about 4K editing. Will such a built handle motion-JPEG footage or what do I need?
@@theTechNotice oh okay okay totally understandable
could I add a Rtx 3060 to this build or would I need to change a lot of the other pieces?
Yeah you can add 3060 , everything is fine👏
The recommended ssd+gpu combo no longer appears available, certainly I can't find it in the UK. Any advice for an alternative?
The problem with the MacMini budget option is that it runs MacOS. And that it isn’t upgradable. And that it’s made by apple
Can I use Nvidia Quadro RTX A2000, instead of the Asus RTX 3050 ?. Thanks.
Can you make a video on 32 vs 64gb ram for video editors. I know 64gb is recommended but how much is the difference
Please do this!!!!!
Actually 32gb ram is fine and is good enough if this is a 1000$ build
@@harshadrocks1094 mine is a 2000$ pc
@@adityadivine9750 still 64gb ram is hard to get for a 2000$ build and it might bottleneck because if you get such a type of ram then you have to sacrifice other components
@@adityadivine9750 but the difference is somewhat good if you are high end pro editor
Good video.. thanks
I have the exact same build except i use arc a380 as my graphic card
Is it enough?
I have a good question. (At least I think so) I have a ryzen 5950x with 64gm ddr4 4000 mhz2 ram 2 960 2gb nvme and Radeon pro duo gpu all liquid cooled. (Radeon pro duo gpu) .I think this is my weak link. What gpu would you recommend ? I use AE, PR, PS….. I’m wanting to get as good as a card as I can get for now as I know it should last through upgrading other parts several times.
I'd go as high of Nvidia as you can :)
if i have ext gpu, is i5 12400f good ? theres no i5 12400 non f in my country
I'm not sure that mobo is such a good deal, VRMs are not that good.... but I understand that was to stay in the 1000$
100% right, that mobo is real bad!
But yeah, VRMs are anyway pretty tough to die, so it might take "a while"
How about Aliexpress salvage stuff?
Good stuff, do you have a build for 6k video editing? Thanks!
Still got my r9 285, only 2gb. Best use igpu or that?
Amazing explanation mate, I am CGI artist and how this pc will handle CGI ??
Ok, I put all the parts into a list on Amazon and it came out to be around $1031. If I don't want to drop that much today, can I just buy the case, mother board and other parts to start the build and do it over maybe a month?
It's okay to use i7 12700kf on a Msi tomahawk B660 for music production.. ?
Luckily I was able to find a 3050 before seeing this video but I just found a 1660 ti for cheaper directly from asus and I saw a benchmark test that the 1660 ti outperformed the 3050 in resolve. But that was with both using a 12600k cpu. So is the 3050 better for the 12400 or would the 1660 ti still outperform?
Better go with the 3050 , it has ray tracing if you would do 3d rendering it will be so helpful
Can I use Msi B660 motherboard with I5 13500?
Is there any pc that can stream/game and also edit?
If you're a creator always go with Nvidia is the golden rule ;)
Would you recommend the rx 6600? It's currently going on for €409
rtx 2060 (12g) €389 and the rtx 3050 for €375
AMD GPU's are not good for video editing. Get a 1660 ti or super.
@James Robinson answered it! 😉👍
@@jamesrobinson6428 and if it's for both?
@@jamesrobinson6428 Excuse me, does freemediting software benefit from Nvidia too? - Clueless, since I only did stills and gaming, so far.
If it's the first time you've seen this channel I recommend you don't bother going elsewhere really, the advice you get is honest and by a guy who know his sh*t. Listen, watch and learn! Sub and like.
does this motherboard works well with a i9?
Would it be worth to go for the i5 12600k instead of the 12400? It's 100€ more, but I heard that you'ill need a more expensive MOBA (z690) and a more expensive cooler.
Anyone any advice? Thanks in advance!
You will need to buy a cooler as the 12600k doesn't send a stock cooler, it produces a little more heat but not much unless you plan to overclock. You won't need a different motherboard
Just asking, while we used the f variant alongside with dedicated gpu still slow down the time line ?
yep: ua-cam.com/video/4ovRtmTxjuE/v-deo.html
good, informative job as always. Good job!
In the UK tax is included in the price ;)
@@theTechNotice right but you're dealing in US prices which would have to be converted to UK equivalents, and of course if you're shipping from the US and somehow getting around local (US sales) and import taxes then that needs to be accounted for. Maybe there's a way of doing that - it'd be great if you could find one!
Is Asus prime h670 mother board good?
I live in india and here the 12400f is almost 80-90$ cheaper than the 12600k, should i still go for the one with the i gpu ?
Which one would be better, i5 with igpu and a 3060 and an i5 without igpu and a 3070, in india both these config costs the same
Love your work ❤️ let's make it more challenging go for 750$ creator pc build ❤️❤️❤️
Take the GPU off ;)
Haha!
