- This ONE setting changed Session for me... Who would've thought that such a small little setting like this could completely change Session for me. I do vaguely remember changing this setting a year or two back, but I completely forgot about it... until now.

Sorry Garrett...That was me. hahaha! You kept complaining about the manual catch and I kept commenting to limit the FPS. I'm sorry..ahaha!! I'm happy to see my suggestion helped though. You had complained about the manual catch in multiple videos and I kept trying to comment and leave messages in your discord to limit the FPS...only to see you complain about it again in the next video. HAHA! Keep up the videos though, man! I never miss one! You're welcome, brother. Last name is HOPPE, pronounced HOP-PEE...I know...i know...don't start. 1 last apology for sounding like an @$$. MY BAD! Another tip, if you turn up the EXTRA PITCH slider, you can really bone out the kickflips.

9:58 so I have tested this manual thing a lot when the wheels touch. From what I can gather, whichever truck you're trying to land in the manual on, you do not want to release that stick after you pop, instead just immediately move it to the manual position.
From what I can tell if you let go of the stick and then do the manual input it levels your bored out in the air first making all four wheels touch when you land before it pops into the manual.
Basically releasing the stick resets your input and the angle your board is on.
The recent videos have made me commit to manual catch on session finally and still getting the hang of it but makes it feel so rewarding landing a line
I would love to see garret do a long video just trying lines, the process is so fun to watch!
It can also help to increase you're catch friction

Just started playing session today. Still getting used to the controls even without manual catch but I did try it out. I’ve been playing Skate since the first game came out and Tony hawk since it came out before that. So session is tough to get used to. But even with the difficulty; it is so much fun!
I loved the new video as I am currently learning manual catch and I about lost my mind but alot of deep breaths and it crazy to think while it feels so good to get into though manual tricks the flat ground mistakes are rage worthy but good job on all the videos and your really bring some humor to learning and it's been really inspiring. Thank you sir for all the content and the 60 frames wow game changer.
8:30 Just to be clear, you're supposed to do the normal catch input first (left stick up). THEN do the manual input

Been bed ridden for 3 weeks and just playing session, yesterday I went into the options menu and messed with the camera, holy crap there’s filters and low, mid, and high camera angles! That was a game changer for me! I’m sure many of knew about this but it’s new to me lol check it out to see if you like it 🤘🏻🤘🏻

For smoother transitions into grinds and manuals you should rocket your kicflips so that it looks more realistic

This is me trying to absorb some much info about Manuals that I can because I SUCK at them! I have been stuck because I refuse to throw my controller as I get angry about it! Lol!
12:27 it has to do with when you catch the trick. If you dont catch it high enough then the game doesnt enter the manual until both feet get on it regardless of how dipped it is.
I’m really hoping Session makes some decent progress soon, it has the best feeling controls by a long shot, tried Slater XL and almost a month after playing and I still can’t get used to the spin mechanics or the switch/fakie inputs, they do not make sense

the manual thing has been an issue for me since day one. i barely do manual tricks because of it, unfortunately

Put on full release in grind settings, makes it so much more realistic
When flipping in to grinds you can catch the board with the grind input

@BigRevenge just do the controls off the grind you are trying and it will catch the board
The 60fps thing actually pissed me off for months when I first got this on PC, I totally forgot about that.
I think kickflip front lips just have a high probability of board breakage which then has a high chance of nut rackage lol.

Yo you can get speed a lot easier if you sprint first then get on the board. There's no throw down animation but its way faster than starting on your board then pushing several times to get speed

Does anyone know what the hell’s going on with the PS5 version’s performance settings? For me, “performance” mode seems to decrease the frame rate to 30 and screws up the physics. Graphics mode feels normal. Anyone else experience that?

When I input a kickflip for e.g. I instantly flick down or up to catch. I've never had to time it, unless it was 360 or double flip. Why are you taking about timing a kickflip? Can anyone shed some light on this?
So, there's a bug where you can technically cheat it and just hold down a stick and it'll still catch it with anything that doesn't require the board to do a 360 or double flip as you said, but the proper way is to actually catch the board when it comes around. You can even tell by the animation when you do the cheat method, if you wait for the catch it plays through correctly. Also...you don't need to "go to the middle when you catch"...not sure who the fuck made that up but, you can just bring the feet down like you do when you have big drop landings on....or bring them forward to make the catch, either way works the same....
And i just went to double check to make sure I wasn't wrong...and yeah pushing up or down on either stick, it'll still catch...it's just about the timing.

Manual catch in session isn't really manual catch if it was the board would be independent of your feet in the physics would actually allow you to catch the board at any moment not in their predetermined window of time

Love the content! Ill continue to support this game but i love how they branded it a Simulator to justify the horrific input lag and motions of the game.
Near as i can tell, the manual thing is a skill issue. It usually takes me about an hour or more to get into a manual without touching all 4 wheels down consistently
Unfortunately, session doesn’t run well with 120fps, only 60fps or less

The skate games today are beta/pre-beata level games. That need a lot of work. I do love them though. But the work flow is lacking. They feel like empty shells that I still glitch on every 5 mins or so.

Session is still going to be good if new skate 4 comes out because it will be more realistic as a sim than arcade like skating from EA. Session is really bad at the moment for vert.

Why on earth would less fps be better???
Physics are tied to fps supposedly. At least according to one of the creature guys on the session discord.

manual catch hack : just flick whatever joystick down right after you did your flip trick to automatically catch it perfectly everytime, if you do it like this you can make your tre flips, varial flips and 3shuv regular shuv but they'll look awkward
I pretty much cheat manual catch an most tricks just holding one of the joysticks. You really don’t have to hold near center like people say. And grinds you just go straight to the input if the flip flick is the right speed. Only some awkward tricks are hard on manual catch after you play with it a bit
