    You can't Airbnb basement suite or laneway house in Vancouver.

      The city's rules say that short-term rentals can only be offered by an operator of the housing unit in which they live, either as an owner or a tenant. It can be a laneway home or a secondary suite in the basement, but only if the operator lives in that unit and it is their principal residence
