I just became aware of this channel and I love it! The homes are amazing and it's nice to see what's available in the Canada area. Makes me want to consider having a home there one day. I think because the homes are so grand I want more time in each room. I know with homes this large you have to pick and choose what to feature and you do a lovely job!
Thanks for watching and your positive feedback! We try to do our best to feature as much as we can in the larger homes, while still keeping the video within 15-30 minutes, but definitely noted:)
This is a beautiful home. I really love the idea of his and her bathrooms and closets off of the main bedroom. That is so clever. I don't think I have ever seen that in a house before. Great tour Nina, thanks again :o)
Here you are. I was wondering about you. I am glad you are back. wonderful place and tour of the place. I got little confuse when you have video about a house in Ottawa.
$19 million is a lot for Southlands, but that house is special. It's like a Canadian version of what you would find in Los Angeles (Palisades/Brentwood). Most of the listings in Vancouver look like cr*p and are as expensive or more than LA and other places with huge populations and economies. At least this listing is on 2.5 acres, so it "kind of" makes sense. You are actually within walking distance to Kerrisdale (shopping, restaurants, and groceries) and close to Pacific Spirit Park. The agent did an excellent tour too.
No one wants to live in LA. Heck. For this price, no one actually wants to live in Vancouver. Both cities have become over priced sh*t holes. Far better places to live, without this exorbitant price.
@@thetruthfromthefuture Well apparently they do because they keep coming and the prices keep coming too. They have been saying that it was going to finally level off for 15 years and it still hasn’t.
Hey Nina & team . Just another Video ... really well done (again). Your preso skills are professional with the perfect mix of features along with personal touches. Nicely done. Congrats!! Just a couple of Q's about the property: a) Does it have an elevator? b) Size of the pool? Salt water? c) Is the driveway heated? d) staff suite? Thx again!!
@VanCity604 it is such a beautiful place I would absolutely love to be able to afford something like this. God Bless you and happy for all of your accomplishments I guess is the right word. I am sure you worked very hard to have what you have is what I am trying to say. I always wondered even at 57 now and working for 30 years how it seems some people just know how to make money and some don’t. Beautiful place.
@@Sher-1964 Its a family affair. My parents invested in Real estate and instilled the virtues of investment. I see that many people now want to spend money and investing is NOT a priority. My view on life is live meagerly, very little, drive an old car and invest every you got every paycheck. The young people have the advantage of time. Cheers!!
@@Sher-1964 Why did you say "I am sure you worked very hard to have what you have is what I am trying to say. I'm not a big fan of mega-mansions with all the chic decor to try to be "hip," but there are aspects to this one that I think I will copy in our retirement cabin I'm designing
Lighting is key: this place is way, way too dark for Vancouver's dark days of right now. I've been in major builds in White Rock/South Surrey/Crescent Beach and Anmore that are real "statements" that just ZAP you. this doesn't for a LOT of reasons.
The wine room would be useless for me. Though I like the geo thermal feature it’s a very nice touch. Everything flows very well. Though I would take out the sink opposite of the range
I'm always curious about the owners. Can you tell us if they are athletes, celebrities, business owners or other? Very beautiful place; I cant imagine such a lifestyle 😊
@@evexclusive There a HUGE amount of old money (3rd, 4th. generation in Vancouver proper). If your grandparents landed in Kerrisdale after the war (both of them), kept that White Rock cottage with a septic (one hectare subdividable) AND they didn't go "crypto" or some half assed Ponzi scheme, they' d be able to write a CHEQUE for this place. I know Italians in Vancouver who worked in Parks and have a 10 million dollar place. A longshorman who can barely write his own name in Yugoslavian who is on acreage: 8 million. My uncle is on 224th. (welder). Four million assessment JUST FOR THE ACREAGE (6 "hECTARE" IN cANADA).
I did not see anything I hated but there's always the caveat of buying a second-hand dream of someone else with very particular tastes at market prices. The possibility of smelling a horse barn when the wind is blowing that way is actually NOT a deal breaker strangely. Swine are another matter.
Most of those rooms will never get used. Who ever buys it may or may not spend much time there at all. Seem like the bigger and more expensive the house is, the less actual time the buyers spend living there.
@neilmory depends how big the family is. Sometimes it's multigenerational. I know a family in first Shaughnessy like that. 8 bedrooms but it's all occupied. Grandparents, parents, & kids.
Just curious, do all UA-cam realtors go to the same training school. How much is the course in hand waving, are you sending secret messages to other Realtors? Curious minds want to know.
Wow I would be happy to just have a tiny house the size of the utility room along with the area that they have all there dish’s and cook wear stored at. I just would love to have the money to buy a 1100 sq foot home. Be thankful to God for whomever has this much money what a blessing. God Bless
Absolutely stunning home! I wouldn’t want to change anything, other than maybe the light blue tile throughout one of the bathrooms. I love the tone of all the wood throughout. Beautiful.
Personally I think it's weird to separate the bathrooms into "His" and "Hers". I mean... functionally it doesn't add anything that can't be solved by a larger bathroom, and emotionally it just seems super detached.
We respect everyones personal opinions:) How about this though.. your own fresh towels and no one "accidentally" using them, or how about this one... no one using the last bit of shampoo then you go to wash your hair and it's empty!
@@evexclusive Someone living in this house probably doesn't need to worry about not having everything stocked, cleaned, and ready for use. Plus separate showers is a huge waste of water. Gotta think about the environment and wash together.
Apparently, there are some homes being built with his and her bedrooms. That's right...a married couple having separate bedrooms built in their new home.
It's an entertainers dream house! But I bet they don't even have many parties and if they do, are their guests at this level? Are the guests flying in from somewhere, or are they locals?? With this sort of wealth it might be hard having a bunch of friends not at this level because there would be that underlying feeling like are they gonna hit me up for money at some point? Even if it's a family with kids, they're probably way richer than their original families and cousins, etc. So there probably aren't big "family gatherings" at a house like this, as ironic as that is. The bigger and more expensive the house, the less amount of time the owners spend actually inhabiting the premises. They're on a jet somewhere. They're on vacation. They're staying in a 5 star hotel somewhere else in the world. Beautiful empty spaces though.
Well the interior design they chose for the house is mid century…I think the house is pretty, but @ the same time I kind of agree with you …there’re many parts of the houses that are “too mid century “ in my taste as well . Plus, she mentioned that the last time it was renovated was in 2010 which is a long time ago …It would have been cool if they added more modern touches while keeping the comfy/homey feels .
Doesn't matter how many Bedrooms Too many rainy days all year long also Does it come with more sunny days as well ???the other problem is that you're stuck in the mountain it's extremely boring city the mall for shopping missing lot of chain's store ...so please pay more attention before buying it
Interesting, yes. With that money, this will be one of many houses. Nobody with that sort of money tolerates bad weather. The little ice machines throughout will never get used and if they do, the ice will go bad from under use. The outdoor kitchen might get used 2 or 3 times, no need to store food in those fridges... It will all go bad. The gym may or may not ever get used. The equipment will stay looking brand new for most of the time it sits there, not being used, because the family of 4 living in this "hotel" are only here for maybe part of the school year. 10 years down the road, when it's all considered "dated" by rich people standards, and torn out and replaced, most of the items will have only barely been used, if at all. Sad.
The best feature is the home's lighting. Clearly the builder, architect and/or homeowner really understood, and cared about, lighting.
Thanks for watching & the feedback! 💡
