    I've been using that one since this winter.
    For me it’s the best winter sleeping bag you can get on the market.
    Very durable, extremely warm, even without a
    bivy bag. Best choice for real winter camping...

      I like your carinthia survival one...I bought one .
      I've also just bought the buffalo systems 4s outer and 4s inner sleep system with their thermaliner .I will tell you here and now it's on a whole different level to ANY OTHER SLEEPING BAG SYSTEM .
      I'm now flogging my carinthia .
      I've rang buffalo up and advised them to plough money into a big advert campaign as I am 100% positive they could put carinthia ,wiggys, and all the other firms out of the sleeping bag business .
      Their bag system out performs anything else out there by a huge margin .WET OR DRY .
      the carinthia is definitely not the "king of bags "
      You're obviously very knowledgeable and if you try the buffalo systems bag you'll wholeheartedly agree .
      And bonus ,they're made in Sheffield.

    I did the conversion for us American dudes.. it is huge! Yeah 6 lbs but very long!
    I see it at $400.. but I too, dislike down because no matter what, somehow my gear gets wet often enough to hate down bags. Tough to take a $400 hit, but buy it once to never hate it? Priceless! Thanks, great review!

    Great sleeping bag, I'm 6'4" and broad shouldered so I have struggled with sleeping bags in the past. I have a Snugpak Softie elite 5 which is good, but cramped. Nowadays I tend to sleep in a poncho liner and wool blanket, but you can only do that in the warmer months, I have not had the courage to test in Winter.

Do they even make rucksacks big enough to fit it in and if so would you fit anything else in it once this olive green oil drum is in it 🤣

  • @Globetrotter-1
    @Globetrotter-1 2 роки тому +2

    The survival One is far too heavy and bulky for using anything except being permenantly stationary at base camp. The survival down 1000 version is far better for winter trekking in any terrain, and in my opinion even back at a base camp. Not only warmer, but lighter and half the bulk. The old saying that a down bag is useless when damp or wet is a total myth. It still will provide plenty of warmth. A decent bivvy or winter sleeping bag cover means that it never gets wet anyway.
    By the way, the zip open arms is a nice feature, but because they are not insulated it becomes virtually useless in extreme conditions of winter ❄️ or in the high mountains due to cold arms and hands. It is far simpler and warmer to get out of the bag and chuck on a good down jacket and gloves.
