Time for another remix! Well, this isn't much of a remix; it's more of using the same instruments in the game, just with much higher quality. Anyway, this one is titled simply "Before Cynthia" and is the piano part that occurs when you meet Cynthia after the Elite Four. Enjoy!

This song fits the prologue of the battle against Cynthia. It definitely increases the intensity of, in my opinion, one of the most powerful champions in the series.

She's not one of the most powerful, she is the most powerful: type diversity, very fast and strong sweepers like Garchomp and Lucario and also slow and tanky walls like Spiritomb, which at the time had no weaknesses, Milotic and Gastrodon. And then there's Roserade

Bro when I first plagued platinum I didn't know that I had to raise ALL my Pokemon (I was a stupid-ass ten y/o ) and I went in guns blazing with a lvl 87 torterra with almost no pp and a level 50 uxie I was so proud of catching. I got obliterated.
Well actually, I remember taking out everything except garchomp and togekiss. I'm surprised I made it that far in tho.

After playing the remake, I gotta say both this theme and her difficulty make her feel as though she’s actually the Pokémon champion. In all the other games the champion battles are easy sweeps. Hell, I usually have more trouble with the Elite Four than them. But not here. Cynthia is the only time I’ve legitimately felt afraid of a Pokémon champion because she’s the only one who feels deserving of the title. We hear about the champions being the best of the best, unbeatable, and horrifyingly strong, but most of they time they just aren’t. Cynthia? Cynthia could probably tell Arceus to fuck off and it would.

Agreed, and thats why Cynthia is the most loved champ, because she actually is a challange. But I also have to give Leon (sword/shield) some respect, this man was also really strong especially with his Haxorus.

Kanto: Butterfree sweeps the entire e4 (Starmie is even better for this)
Johto: Gengar sweeps the entire e4 (And several other things..)
Hoenn: guts facade swellow sweeps the entire e4 (And several other things)
Sinnoh: Gliscor sweeps the entire e4, many basic strats exist including staraptor + infernape + weavile which are very common picks. They absolutely monsterously obliterate it without any setup required. There are countless simple methods wherein cynthia and the entire e4 have 0 chance.
Unova: haxorus, excadrill, and 200 other things solo the entire e4.
Kalos: garchomp, greninja, almost any obtainable legend up to this point, 700 other things.
Alola: Shouldn't even be a question anymore, the amount of brokenly op things that exist at this point are beyond a simple count of pokemon that exist. Countless thousands of working strategies for a single easy to obtain pokemon to sweep the ENTIRE GAME exist. (As they always have since gen1 and including in gen5...)
Galar: same story as alola
Paldea: same story as alola/galar
-Someone who legitimately began my pokemon journey at age 3 on the gameboy color in 1997 and will never understand why anybody thinks pokemon console games are hard at any point for any reason.

LpKonsi I personally think Blue is the most decorated character in terms of titles and probably travels to every region, but is probably still about on par with Red, maybe a bit below him. I’d put them as the two strongest trainers in the world (aside from the player I guess? But not sure about that). Cynthia would definitely be third.

Maybe I was just lucky as a kid, but I never fail in pokemon, like I never ever lost a fight in the 4 games I played. I loved training my pokemon and so a usually had 10 levels more than enemies.
Thank you so much for this! This song is perhaps my favourite of the entire franchise and hearing it in this beautiful crystal clear quality makes me a very happy man.

I remeber just starting Pokemon. I watched the anime since I was 2, but never touched the games or TCG. And then 2 years ago (I was 14), I decided to give the games a go. My first was Emerald, in which I overleveled my starter and caught a Rayquaza so I was able to win the league somehow. The rest of my team was in their 30s. And then I played Diamond, in which I equally leveled my team, but they were all underleveled. And I was ofc confident and I entered the leage with a max lvl 49. I somehow managed to get through E4 due to luck, potion spam and some shallow knowledge. And every note, represent many tears, and many potions that were thrown in the wind when I battled Spiritomb. Somehow beat it, and then the massacre happened. Never opened the save file again...
Was roar of time not enough to kill the garchomp? Always worked for me when I was younger (no idea how underleveled I was but I know I was decently under)
