  • The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is a four-engined heavy bomber developed in the 1930s for the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC). Relatively fast and high-flying for a bomber of its era, the B-17 was used primarily in the European Theater of Operations and dropped more bombs than any other aircraft during World War II. It is the third-most produced bomber of all time, behind the four-engined Consolidated B-24 Liberator and the multirole, twin-engined Junkers Ju 88. It was also employed as a transport, antisubmarine aircraft, drone controller, and search-and-rescue aircraft.
B-17G #43-38525 was delivered to the 418th Bombardment Squadron of the 100th Bombardment Group in September 1944 and was given the name "Miss Conduct". She was heavily damaged by Flak and German fighters in October but managed to get back to her base at Thorpe Abbots (Norfolk, England) where she was repaired and soon ready for new missions. In March, 1945 she lost two engines to Flak over Germany but managed to make an emergency landing in Belgium on the way back. Miss Conduct survived the war and was flown back to the U.S. in summer 1945.
Our subject for today is fantastic diecast model in 1:72 by AirForce1/Terebo models. It has AF1 details on the box but has a Terebo sticker placed over it for some reason. Its how it arrived from the seller. And is a pretty good rendition of the B-17G USAAF bomber "Miss Conduct".
