Hey Pete, I play caps a bit (recommend river town advanced, fixed, blizzards) and can confirm that it doesn't take troop numbers into account, just ties for the lowest remaining placement... If you're feeling mean, the best way to ruin your opponents ratings from a caps match is kill guard everyone before taking the last cap and make them all tie for 6th =p
Incidentally, thanks for the kill guard strategy, I've had a fair bit of fun with that since learning it off you lol
Recently while playing in your tournament, I was told by a player that I was much too emotional and I would never be GM. But after watching enough of your videos I know you're emotional too
You can get to GM! Just keep putting in the work!
I assume you got called emotional because of a vengeance play. I wouldn't take that to heart. There's long been a debate in this game: if someone ruins your primary win condition, do you ruin theirs or do you keep scrapping? To this day, I don't think there's consensus, and I don't think there will be.
Sounds like the person who said that to you was speaking through the emotion of 'smug dickhead', so the same could be said of them
Vengeance in a game isnt necessarily emotional. Sometimes it's also strategically correct.
@@TheKillPeteStrategy that's exactly how I feel. I don't always go for revenge but when my best play is to make sure someone dies before I inevitably die then I'm going to do that. Especially in a tournament setting where it'll get me more points

I don’t think that many people do quit. I think it’s just risk not being to great. I tried playing two games yesterday and wasn’t able to play the entirety of either. Partway though the game I lost connection then when I rejoined it said waiting for host. I could see the game happening both times when the message was up but I couldn’t do anything. Ended up having to quit out. Couldn’t rejoin either same thing happened

Just adding to the chorus, I’ve had 8/10 of my last games end with me losing connection briefly (probably my wifi) and being unable to rejoin. Something is clearly wrong. I submitted a support ticket after the first few times and got an unhelpful response.
Pete the answer to your question, a lot of players don't quite, the game has a weird bug, you get kicked either into a loop, that is very simular to the ready up screen, where you can't press anything then you get a glimpse at the game still in progress and the loop just starts over. Or you get kicked to the game lobby, getting a notice waiting for host, you can exit risk and join a new game but you are forever kicked out of the game you where playing

Botout may be something wrong with the servers. I have disconnected almost every game the last days. Never disconnected before.

Regarding botting out. I’m playing on mobile and finding that it “kicks” be without being able to rejoin. I have lost tournaments due to this glitch and can only assume it’s happening to others…

I watched a recent Vampire Chicken video and he menioned there was a new bug. Players just lag so much that the bot takes over and they are unable to log on and off to get back in the game. That might explain it.

I came back to the game on phone, but i got a "connexion to host" during a game just before i got a kill and a good turn, and i try to change my connexion from 5g to Wifi, restart the game but it did nothing
So i download it on PC, and buy the premium + 2 map pack to have some fun

The new Risk update won't load back in if you go onto another tap while playing on mobile. That's lead me to have to quit more recently.
What happened to video quality Pete? Stuck on 720p, is that a me problem?

Botting is the reason I still prefer prog world dom to meta caps. Meta caps has the potential to create steamrolls, so some people just leave when they don't get a steamroll position. In prog world dom, the game is rarely over for you, even if you get boned off start.
So what happen to resolution of the video? Why 720p? Hope you Regi didn't break something 😂❤

Hey Pete, geniune question about these settings. I've been playing them on a beginner account in ranked, and can't avoid stalemates. Recent game, 3 player stalemate, both the others were just holding 1-2 bonuses and cap stacking every turn. I killed the other 3 players, but couldn't do anything further. Then lost connection later on in the stalemate😅, but would have given up anyways. Not my first 3 player stalemate either, and I was wondering if you had any information that could help with this? If not, I'll probably just stop playing caps, cuz stalemates are super dumb and annoying😅.
P.S. I'm not actually a beginner, idk if I'm good enough to be gm, but I am a master😅, the accounts record is like 90-120 or so ish too, but most of that was before reset and now it won't rank up well😅🤷
If other players want to stalemate the settings there is nothing you can do. And if you don't like that yeah, you should stop playing caps. Too bad that caps are the only thing that's viable to get to the top of the leaderboard right now
@TheKillPeteStrategy Thanks for such a quick response! That's a bit unfortunate, caps can make the game more fun and interesting when it works well... and I'm not super invested in the leaderboard either, although I'll still see how high I can go😅. I just think the settings are really fun and competitive either way (unless it stalemates obviously).

I just got deranked from master to intermediate and I'm not really sure as to why other then the fact that I reported another player and used some pretty despicable language in that report 😅😬
I had everyone bot out on me on fixed caps yday. yellow lasted a few turns, didnt realise the rest were gone, took Oz and kept hitting me in SA. i made the move to europe with 18 troops left, took ages but just went for the cap win against a game of bots. I'll take the rank win, but man it was boring

Botting is so bad because game keeps on freezing. 1/3 of my games freeze and then I can't get back in.

I ended up deleting the game this disconnect bug is not good for my mental health, will be back when they fix the game
i wish quitting a game dropped you one rank , then you could play with minimum beginners and avoid all the botting.

Do people maybe not pay attention to the fact that it's a cap game. And then once it starts they realize and immediately quit.
