Well I finally took a shot and took mine apart. I did buy my 110 used and know it had a bad trans axle. It was stuck in between gears. Mine is the 2000 series ( 2001 3 speed ) used in the 63 and 64 110, and some other GT like a Springfield 8 and 10 HP. Chatting in the forums it seams the most common failure is the Detent spring under the ball rust do to water in the case from around the Gear shift to trans axle case. with the detents gone mine most likely shifted in to another gear while running. 4 Damage Gears and stress cracks in the case side and bottom. I have picked up another 64 JD110 and the PO said it will slip out of third. So before I put get that up and running I'll will open the case and replace all the detents springs and balls. So a Rebuild is on my future Now. lol Again thanks for the videos
I think that might have been what happened to mine, but when the previous owner tried to take off it didn't like being in two gears and something had to give somewhere...
Thank you for making this video !!! I have a 214 converted to a 12 hp diesel. It works great but hard to change gears sometimes. I have to rebuild transaxle or replace it soon.
@@outdoorpowerhouse I used a 12hp Yanmar clone with 6 inch hub pulley. 39 inch V belt from engine to variator pulley. Original gas engine mount cradle is not used. Custom angle iron and steel plate welded to frame and engine bolted to that. Runs like a bat outa hell. In the process of diff locking the tranny right now (welding the spider gears).
Really wish you had the Video back at normal Speed as you split the case. I'm about ready to take mine apart and this is the only video I have seen so far of the workings. Hope you can fix it. Hope I can fix mine.
Unfortunately it was beyond fixing with the cracked case as well as some other damaged components that I found later. I think the best thing for you to do is to try and find a service manual for the Peerless 2300 which should be a huge help in disassembly and repair. Thanks for watching!

What engine did you use for the swap, and did you retain use of the PTO?

@@------country-boy------- nice!
Had that come out of mine the syrup all gears work but loud for each gear.
These usually have some whine to them anyway, even with good fluid. Some worse than others.
I was wondering if you ever put it back together ? I don't see a video of it going back together .
No, it never went back together, the case ended up being cracked.
