Very nice Keith...so many pits are totally half-ass when they don't need to be. We'll be using yours as a template. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks 😊
Would love to see the finished of this

WHY DOSENT MINE LOOK LIKE THAT
Center blocks -- 1 1/2" angle iron -- 4X4 sheet of stretch metal
80x40 -- 5 blocks across 3 blocks deep
Really nice build! Would love to see a follow up cook video
Awesome build
Nice work broI’ve been meaning to do one of these myself

U should have put more info in the description bar
4 blocks high and a cap
Nice pit. Thinking about building me one. New subscriber here. Sam
That's great to know. Hope my post will inspire yalls build.
Dude, you really need to close up those giant spaces between the blocks. You are going to lose a lot of smoke/heat.
If you decide to go the fire brick route then Tractor Supply has them come fall/winter.
Got it, thanks.
Yeah, that's one fine looking barbecue pit. WHY DOESN'T MINE LOOK LIKE THAT?!
I just built one of these and I am thinking of sealing the exterior gaps between blocks with a high temp RTV silicone. Have you noticed your smoker losing smoke/heat from the gaps in yours?
Not really. It really doesn't seem to matter. I am looking for the smoke vs heat.
Where did you buy the expanded metal for the grill?
The local mental store. It cost me $85 for a 4×8 sheet.
what are the materials needed?
Okay, that looks great. How does it cook?
It cooks great! Last month I smoked/ BBQ 1 brisket and 4 whole chickens.
They will crack soon,,,you need a firestone/brick ..
No they won’t, I’m on pig number 7 with my concrete blocks.
