Love you all. Thanks for all the love : )
A little bit about me..
Rebecca is a passionate Singer-Songwriter/Vocal coach/mentor /impressionist/photographer/creative junkie /self- development lover not a hater.
“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well, maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also, thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self-confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel.
She had been singing for 2.5 hours and was pregnant, this is actually incredible.
Metal powered baby :0?
The chemistry between Simone and Floor is just amazing
Am I the only one who imagine Rebecca in a symphonic metal band? It would be wonderful ♥️🌹
omg yass
Definitely!
Yes, she is gorgeous
symphonic postapocalyptic reindeer-grinding christ-abusing extreme war pagan fennoscandian metal
Absolutely
"it's so melodic." ... that's one of the reasons why some people are not really into metal band, but ended up listening to symphonic metal and liking it because of the balance between the melody of rock, the complexity of classical music and dark edge of gothic metal.
Count me in that category I’ve been loving these bands!! If it was listed as straight metal I wouldn’t have ever listened, and I would have missed out on this wonderful genre of music. thank you COVID !!
Whats actually is impressive is that Simone had been singing for around 2.5 hours before this song started.
And she was pregnant at time.
OMG! Really!!??
Really!
is it some kind of surprise? Simone is absolute profesionalist :)
Interesting . She did a good job after that long of singing especially pregnant.
Floor Jansen and Simone Simons are goddesses 😍😍
Under...
STATEMENT!
Sancta Terra is one of my favorite songs!!! LOVE both Simone and Floor!!
Rebecca . to be honest your voice suits the genre very good too.. maybe you can join a Symphonic metal band??? Finally .. a vocal coach who can actually sing.
You were not wrong in assuming Floor and Simone like each other. They have been friends for a long time and have a linked history, with Epica's founder Mark, having been in After Forever with Floor for over 5 years before starting Epica.
Fun fact, Simone was pregnant during this concert and still busted out crystal clear notes.
Simones been a beast forever.
@Gabriel Bartz Sorry but Mark and Floor are not related even though they were both band members in After Forever. The name Jansen is just very common name like Smith in the US for example.
@Adead No they are not, they have both stated they are not related at all. Floor has a sister named Irene who is also a singer.
@@silversabith And she's also awesome
For those of you reading who want to hear her check out Ayreon's album The Human Equation and look for the parts of "Passion"
I don't think they two still like each other so well as they did. Well, Floor said some months ago that her relation with Simone was just "professional", nothing beyond that. They even unfollowed each other in instagram for a time. I don't know what happened between them but I don't think they are as friendly with each other as they were when Retrospect was recorded. Sad.
Definitely check out The Poet and The Pendulum by Nightwish live at Wembley!!
YES PLEASE! :)
YAS LORT!
DEFINITELY, her emotion in that one makes me cry each time I watch it.
... and I hear tale that that was one of the first times in a long time that Tuomas had his in ear monitors on during the song, (which explains why Marco and Emppu gathered around him toward the end and Floor's vocal crack during "the ever free, tuck me in beneath the blue" ) , since apparently it's a very hard one for him to hear the vocals of since it's quite literally his way of committing suicide.
Brilliance, Nightwish. Sheer brilliance.
I really want her to react/analyze that one as well. Anything with Floor in it basically. But Poet stands out.
I love how Rebecca analyzes and talks about the songs, from a vocal trainers perspective, rather than 'just' reacting to the songs. Keep up the good work R!
Fun fact: Floor Jansen can split mountains in half, melt hearts and bring titans to their knees with her voice. Effortlessly.
No, the sound quality is very poor. She should check some other version of The Poet
Yes!!
There is NO ONE like Floor Jansen on the metal scene. She is out of this world , powerful, versatile , she can do.it all
Symphonic metal is tenderness and brutality, wrath and sorrow. It's my favorite music because you can almost hear the Euphoric catharsis of a deep anguish. The operatic vocals and heavy metal do not clash, it compliments.
Ooff bruh, that was deep af
Opposites attract
"Euphoric catharsis of a deep anguish" is my favorite sentence right now.
Complements
Metal has by far the most talented musicians and singers! Great reaction and analysis!
It`s simply not true. Talented musicians are spread around all genres and i am metal head after all so no bias here.
Love your reaction RVA tho.
It's definitely true.
@@Ehrmann_Gregsson Erm... Ok master. You`re right because you`ve said so... Any objective examples of most talented musicians in certain area which you can find only in metal band? Talented in what? Technique, skills, emotions... Called most talented by who...? Elaborate pls. as im curious :).
agreed my man
Never a truer comment in the day of auto-tune alot of the pop princesses and princes they work the hell out of that stuff I've never heard more clear voices come out of heavy metal and rock and roll any other time in history
Hi! You should react to Epica- Cry for the moon is one of the best songs of them and it will shock you!
yes please
Agreed
Cry For The Moon is one of her best songs and one of Simone's signature songs. So yes please do that reaction.
YES PLEASE
There's a live studio version that is legendary
Within Temptation - Paradise (feat Tarja)
Edit: Symphonic Metal is the music for vocal coaches
I agree withing temptation but I think that Rebecca prefers the song "Angel" and so we will be entitled to a fourth video on Tarja
@@djedjemtg7607 Appropriate
Completely agree should definitely give paradise a listen
YES. That song was the duet I had been waiting years for. I love Paradise. 💜
The scarecrow from Avantasia!
The chorus to this is lovely. Especially with THREE of you!
5:46 - "Kind of breathes light and energy in you, doesn't it? Makes you feel strong and powerful."
Yup, that's metal for you :D
Wow,Simone and Jansen are two queens
The raw emotional and technical POWER of her vocals is SO beautiful. DAMN. That is AMAZING.
i love when you react to metal singers! it's really important to give this people more visibility. 💛
Simone Simons is AMAZING 😍 YAY for reacting to this 😬
Omg, I need more Floor reactions. I can't get enough
it calls floorasme ;-)
Shes amazing..
I loved seeing the chemistry between Floor and Simone :3 They've been real life friends for a long time and it shows. Beautiful to look at such a sweet friendship/bond, connecting over both their passion for music
Their voice brings tears to my eyes
As to their chemistry.. They were flatmates and a few years ago did youtube vids of different things. Playing piano, testing songs, acoustic guitar riffs. Back before Floor left After Forever.
Thank you for your reaction .Those two are the best female metal voices in my opinion. Fun fact .Simone started singing after listening to Nightwish. Singer was then Tarja Turunen.Looking forward to more Nightwish /Epica reactions.
Rebecca, you **need** to hear “The Greatest Show on Earth” by Nightwish! I consider it their magnum opus, and Floor gets to **really** show off her vocal versatility in it. Also take a listen to “The Magic of the Wizard’s Dream” by Rhapsody. They have an amazingly beautiful, operatic guest vocalist in that song whom you’ll probably recognise once you see him... :)
Another fantastic female duo for you to react to (maybe) would be "Within Temptation feat. Anneke Van Giersbergen - Somewhere (Live)"
I wait for month now for any reaction to that masterpiece.....i asked in all reaction channels for it!
@@ingovonderluhe2174 I hear you! Both Sharon voice and Anneke's need to be heard by waaaay more people!
Or another one (duet), which is also quiet funny Tarja Turunen - Noche Escandinava III Miau Miau Duetto buffo di due gatti G A Rossin :D
I think Anneke Van Giersbergen too. Anything where her sings.
Old THE GATHERING songs, her Solo Projects or her Work with DEVIN TOWNSEND....soooo many to react....
you should react to nightwish phantom of the opera!
Omg yes! The live version
Yes do the live version from End of an Era. (With their first singer, not Floor, not that I don't like Floor just a new singer for you to listen to)
@@mahliz Tarja and Marco are incredible in that version
Yesss!! Is soooooooo good
@@mahliz agree watch Tarja first before Floor
Can't get enough of these two dutch ladies ❤️ please react to Nightwish - The Poet and the Pendulum live Wembley 2016
YES!
Floor is Finnish lmao
Malek Yamout how wrong could you be, Floor Janssen is 100% dutch. Sorry to wake you from a bad dream.
Floor is Dutch buddy. Nightwish are Finnish.
Even more impressive is Simone being pregnant during that recording. Her voice never failed during that tour.
I love your reactions about Floor. And it's amazing that someone like you who really knows about singing is commenting about it. There are lots of haters who don't really know anything about anything and they try to tear Floor down. Your explanation is simple perfect! I'm so glad u knew these singers! I love Simone too but Floor is my favourite :)
Unfortunately Lucas it's not just Floor they try to tear down. It's all female European vocalists that front rock or metal bands. And it's mostly Americans that do the hating. Alot of men here have it in there shallow heads that women can't be good rock/metal vocalists. But most of them wouldn't know good music if it bit them on the bum.
In Sharon Den Adel took a lot of heat from these idiots 2 years ago when their Hydra album hit the US charts. It nearly broke up the band. But those of us that love Within Temptation and bands like them started sending Sharon and Robert mail/email telling them to ignore the turds, that we think they are amazing.
@@chrisbennett6236 totally agree Rebecca! You are so skilled and talented. Your opinion is so enriching! :)
Epica consign to Oblivion, live at the zenith. perfect song show and Quality, also the band started from around the area where i live currently
YES
It's just pure eargasm everytime I hear this song.
Another duet I really like is Somewhere by Within Temptation featuring Anneke van Giersbergen during the black symphony concert. (Within Temptation feat. Anneke Van Giersbergen - Somewhere (Live)).
Fun fact: Sharon den Adel (singer from Within Temptation) has never studied singing and is completely self-taught.
Sharon den Adel has literally the voice of an angel. Like a flawless crystal!
Hevy Devy also never studied singing and manages to be pretty technically perfect in everything he sings. Must be nice to be basically born with that natural feel for your voice.
@@rolsen1304 I agree, but her voice is also pretty different from other metal singers I know. I wonder if it is because of a difference in voice type or in technique.
Both of these women give me goosebumps. They are so good.
Epica's band members: So how much melodic epicness can we squeeze into this performance?
Simone and Floor: ...Yes...
OMG you did this! So happy :D Oh, dan Floor and Simone are friends, so they have great chemistry :)
Wow I was not expecting this one. This is awesome! Great reaction! If you want to hear more of Simone Simons (the one with the red hair) check out Epica - Chasing the Dragon live at Retrospect. That song is beautiful
Modnar621 couldn’t agree more!!!
both of those singers are professional stage performers! they always rock on stage... I also liked when you noted that this song is very melodic.. it's brilliant!
This is what you get when you have 2 of Symphonic Metal's Marquee voices backed up by the heaviest of the Symphonic Metal bands in a live setting with live orchestra and choir, THE best live concert experience ever.
Hey Rebecca, if you like duets, and would like to meet a couple other metal ladies, check out the video "Within Temptation and Metropole Orchestra - Somewhere (Black Symphony HD 1080p)".
It's not a particularly impressive song in terms of showing the singers range (it's a ballad), but it's pretty well executed as a duet, which includes Within Temptation's singer, Sharon den Adel, and a guest appearance by Anneke van Giersbergen, who happens to be probably my favorite female singer in the genre.
And if you want some staccato check out 'The Cross' from that same performance.
I recommended that one a few weeks back as well! I really REALLY hope she does it! Beautiful duet!!!
I'd say go with The Promise, again from the Black Symphony
Sharon Den Adel, Floor Jansen en Simone Simons are the dutch musketeers of symphonic rock.
And we are proud of it.
Stabat Mater Dolorosa , live from the same show
Joseph Nahas yessss
OMG YESSS
Nice reaction video. Maybe you could also take a look at Simone Simons with an accoustic solo permance The song i would like you to take a look at is called "Feint". This clip is a showcase of her vocal abilities. During this song she was only supported by a piano, a base and 2 person female choir. One of the women (the blond one) in the choir was her vocal coach at her school. On several occasions you can see Simone making eye contact and the smile at the end of the song from the coach is the proud smile of a teacher. Simone was about 18 when this was recorded and she had just completed her vocal training. The band also had just released their debut album. The song itself is about a politcal assasination of a Dutch politician that had a real good shot at becomming our next PM at the time. He practically came out of nowhere and was not tied to any of the traditional parties.
LOL at the Apologies.com comment.
Thanks for the review. Merry christmas and a happy new year
Feint is my favourite
Oh! You would love Ayreon - Valley of the Queens live. Three gorgeous voices togethere: Floor, Anneke van Giersbergen and Marcela Bovio
seconded!
Agreed
Yes! Beautiful! That song haunted me for days.
omg she needs to react to some old The Gathering songs, Anneke is literally a goddess
i love that song !!
“Kind of breathes light and energy in you (…) Makes you feel strong and powerful.” Well put! Metal in a nutshell ^,^
What a blend - harmonic perfection at its very very best.
They're two of my favourite singers in existence! I love how emotional Rebecca gets about things like this - makes me emotional too!
if you want to see what these two lovely ladies can do when they consentrate, check out
Epica Stabat Mater Dolorosa feat Floor Jansen LIVE
anyone that say metal singers cant sing should check closer, hear the slower, calmer songs, and you will find that most of them are trained, and really can sing, they just choose to scream or growl for the effect, to send out the message in the song. many are about unjust things in society, hard lifes, abuse of all forms, protest against wars, etc.
Epica - Consign to Oblivion live from Zenith...One of the most epic songs from EPICA.
agree
I love that performance, their voices match greatly.
Come on Rebecca ! The world needs more Floor Jansen !!!
I believe this concert with the orchestra was for the 10th anniversary of Epica
You should give some of the male vocalists within the genre(s) a go - "The Haunting" live by Kamelot with Simone is a wonderful performance, and if you're feeling a little friskier you should try "Demon of the Fall" by Opeth because Mikael Åkerfeldt is just one of the best, most talented artists of all time.
Keep up the wonderful work!
Please, do a review of the Haunting!!
Please react to one of the older Kamelot songs, like Vigridr said. With Roy Khan the hearth and inspiration of the band.
@@tommyechoes3520 Yes , Roy Khan is best male singer in world imo she should react.
Good choice!!! Want to see that.
Totally agree the Haunting is one of my all time favourites
9:16 wow! just like that. That was an amazing demonstration of vocal ability and exact pitch.
chapeau! 👍
My two favourite ladies of metal on the one stage together. 😍
The two queens of metal... Almost to much beautiful magical powers for one stage.. I'm a bit surprised there wasn't a cataclysmic tear in the space time fabric!
Unleash the Archers - Awakening is a definite recommendation if you're enjoying female metal vocalists
I would argue Apex over awakening, personally.
Yeah Rebecca! You're the next Symphonic Metal Diva! Metal community loves you! And add metal covers made by you, like Minniva?
Epic reaction to Epica’s Simone and Floor. 🤯both front ladies blew my mind 😍🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🎆🎇❤️🔥🔥🔥
I love Epica so much. They are the best symphonic metal band out there. Best guitars and drums and orchestration. Along with one of the best vocalists in the genre. Simone Simons, Floor Jansen, Tarja Turunen, and Diane Van Giersbergen (who is also a vocal coach) make up some of the best in the genre as well.
Anneke van Giersbergen while different in style and less visible, even to the metal/symphonic metal community, should never be left out of your list.
Prefer tuomas composing from nightwish, but well i havent really listened to epica, you know what ima go do that right now cya lols
I couldn’t carry a note if my life depended on it, I just love watching these videos. It’s so interesting to hear the “technical” side of something so foreign to me. Love love love!
Just as beautiful as they sing, just as beautiful your explain and react
There is huge amount of power in the music of this genre
Your reaction at 1:48 just keeps giving me a smile...
(Would almost say that was a good eargasm)
AND THIS IS MY FREAKING FAVOURITE SONG I'm actually crying right now, not kidding
Your reactions to symphonic metal, especially Floor and Simone are awesome. Love it.
I am glad I watched this. I have been a fan of Epica for 11 years. I own this DVD/CD combo and have listed to it many many times. By your explainations of what these ladies are doing and how complicated it can be, I have even more appreciation for this. Thanks.
Now you know two of the absolute goddesses of metal, it's time for number three. PLEASE do something by tarja. If you want floor in again, there's a version of 'over the hills and far away' that they perform together, but I really would suggest phantom of the opera live at end of an Era. It's one of the best and most beautiful while still by far the heaviest versions of this song I've ever heard...... So yeah. If you think floors and Simone's operatic vocals are good, tarja steps it up one level more (at least in my opinion, don't want to start a fight here)
You are right, Tarja has the best operatic technique, but it's also because she mostly uses that style and has studied it for a long while, whilst Simone and Floor did not (I know Floor said she studied belcanto for a year, and I'm not sure for Simone, but I think it's also around that time frame).
All three of them are amazing in their own right, and have influenced symphonic metal quite heavily.
Regarding operatic voice in metal, I find Dianne van Giersbergen (ex Xandria) better (imho).
@@saga1363 she's really damn good, I have to admit that, but I think tarjas still better....... But you can't argue about taste I guess
Of course! Just saying.
@@saga1363 Well, both are really proficient, but they also have a different background too. While Tarja has studied lied singing, Dianne has studied belcanto, and while both are classical singing, they are still a bit different from each other.
Rebecca, thanks for the video! I don’t understand English, but your emotions tell a lot! :)
I’ve seen Epica live and they were bloody amazing
The chemistry between Floor and Simone (lead singer of Epica) roots from the fact that Floor's old band, AfterForever (that was huge in Europe), toured with Epica often and collaborated together too. Glad your a big fan of power, symphonic, and melodic metal Rebecca, they are my favorite episodes of yours.
Love your videos !! 😍 continue following Floor (love her too) and Simone Simons (the red her singer) they are amazing
#neverstopsinging 😉
Great reaction! You should react to Epica- Cry for the moon live studio version and Sataba Mater Dolorosa with Floor...
If you loved them singing Sancta Terra, you must listen to their rendition of Stabat Mater Dolorosa (same concert as this one Epica restrospect). Is just amazing!
Floor and Simone Are Best Of Friends. They always work together when they can, Which is Great!
React to Epica "Chasing the dragon", is one of my favorite epica song
+++
Must watch and react "The Poet and The Pendulum at Wembley" by Nightwish... You're AMAZING.. Merry Christmas by the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Merry Christmas to you!!💟🎅
I second that, great song to react.
SANCTA TERRA 😍😍😍 I’ve seen this live with just Simone (the other singer) and 2 other singers at an epica concert best thing EVER
PLEASE you need to do more reactions to Epica 😭😭🖤
Please react to Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) singing Jerusalem live with Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) @ Canterbury Cathedral! It's an incredible vocal performance, and you've never reacted to Bruce before, so i'd love for you to react to it. Cheers
Yes please!
Your videos are an addiction for me. Hashtag never stop reacting 😁
Listen to tides of time by epica. And something from Within temptation old albuns.
Love the little imitations you do in the middle... Your voice is perfectly on spot!
THEY BOTH ARE TOO AMAIZING !!
I just adore this version ! These two are amazing ! I prefer Simone's voice and Epica, but of course that Nightwish and Floor are just fantastic too. But the most impressive thing here is that Simone was pregnant when this was recorded
If you want to hear a very unique tone and the most beautiful head voice (non-operatic usually) you should check /watch?v=XRw7IG_MrJc - Within Temptation - Angels (The Silent Force Tour)
Thats just really really beautiful, so much talent on one single stage, awesome. goosebumps here all the way
Aw yiiiis! This performance was my introduction to Epica. I know I'm kinda late in the game when it comes to fangirling on these symphonic/classic metal but I think this is the best genre of music ever. ❤️❤️❤️
Btw, Rebecca, I love it when you hum along with the songs you're reacting to. It's beautiful.❤️
Yes to Epica!! Simone Simmons!!!
Every time I see them together I just see an Elf princess and a Valkyrie
Ohhh need to do a react to Epica!
Oh my God my fav song & 2 of my fav female singers!!!! I'm so glad u reacted to them aaa

and the sky opened and the angels descended singing eargasms to the masses. :) TY for the lovely review here Rebbbby, if I may, :)
And you have such an amazing voice too! You rock!
