    I’m so glad you finally got answers. Also best of luck with your med school application journey. You seem very passionate and determined. I also want to add that medicine has been my longest running special interest. I also started obsessively following people’s experiences with conditions that took a long time to be diagnosed by professionals. This actually led me to my own autism diagnosis at age 23. I’m just always really excited when I find someone else who shares this interest! :)

    Best of luck with the medical school application. I had to leave college after 3 weeks, couldn't cope, so worked and got in following year. I was much better prepared at 19 and got my degree, post grad Diploma and professional practice exams all passed.
    I am saying, stick in there and you will succeed.
    Best wishes from the UK.

    Crazy how so many medical issues can often accompany autism. I had my tonsils out as a kid and it was rough. I didn't get my pmdd diagnosed until a couple years ago. Did it come back for you after childbirth? I was super depressed during pregnancy but I don't think the pmdd has been as severe since breastfeeding. I can totally relate to going through so many medical problems and seeking treatment to "fix myself" prior to autism diagnosis. I went to india and stayed in an ayurvedic hospital for 21 days. I resolved a lot of things and now I'm on disability so I dont have to push myself to the point of sickness anymore. im glad you are coming out of burnout. My baby just turned 6 months today. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue also. it's hard to keep up and never get a break unless I'm nursing....like right now. Good luck w school.💟

      It is crazy, gut issues and dysmenorrhea are linked with autism. That’s just a couple examples. I had to go off my meds when I got pregnant and am still off them because I’m breastfeeding. I had a few minor depressive episodes, but mostly it was burnout and fatigue. Once my periods started again, they’ve actually never been worse unfortunately.
      Thanks for the support momma, congrats on your little ❤️

      @@kaylaprinsloo-steiner9437 that sucks. I'm sorry. Yes I'm off meds too and that can be reall tough at times. Honestly I drink alcohol more now because it leaves the system faster and I know that's n ou t a great substitute.

      @@autismenlightenment it’s been tough for sure but I’m so happy with my breastfeeding journey. Yes, I’ve drank more alcohol than I have in years (which is still like one drink a week) but still.

      @@kaylaprinsloo-steiner9437 absolutely, so grateful for my ability to feed my daughter! I actually signed up to be a breastmilk donor and that has given me that much more incentive to stay clean.

    With their sensitivity to touch, personal space, etc. My question is why do so many aspires have tattoos, as it is a hell of an invasion of the body.

      @kaylaprinsloo-steiner9437  2 роки тому +1

      I’ve asked myself this a lot and I don’t fully understand why. I know I was sensory seeking in my youth a lot because I was dissociated (numb). This may be why. I haven’t gotten a “real” tattoo in years. After I went on meds and started trauma healing I haven’t wanted to get one 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@kaylaprinsloo-steiner9437 do you think it may be a need for extreme experiences, although aspires like a stable, calm routine life, they also act at the social, physical and mental extremes. For example OCD, special interests, illness, meltdowns, self harm, and I find it a strange dichotomy. They need a consistent world and react badly when it's interrupted, but is that the only reason. Do you crave the negative side of your condition, a bit sado masochistic, you both sides of Autism, good and bad.
      I wonder what would happen if we could study someone without any negatives, not realistic, I know, but interesting to theorise about.
