I have a story. I was incarcerated back in 2013 and heard this in the beginning of 2017 from a cd I ordered through a vendor. This whole album is awesome. Always been a fan. So, in 2017 I ended up getting really sick from ulcerative colitis and it ended up turning into a perforated intestine that led to Sepsis. I had two life and death experiences while in the hospital for almost three months. My property was packed up and in storage, had no one to talk to even family because of security risks. The only ones who took care of me were the nurses, doctors and corrections officers. I was 189 lbs solid before and was now at 114 lbs. I lost all mass and couldn't walk. No strength because of the hell I went through, having a colostomy bag on me and a 13 inch incision down my body. It took me a day to walk, but this beat stayed in my head throughout the time in the hospital. It pushed me, it pushed me hard to regain my strength, emotionally, mentally and physically. It was the most hardest time I've ever endured, more than the time I served.
I am free now, since 2019 and want to thank everyone in that hospital including the corrections officers because they did look out for me seeing the hell and pain I went through and want to thank Deadmau5 for this album. It played in my head and it made me fight, it was like the back up that would play in my head to not get distracted by other things.

I like how he selected the phrase "was with you" from I Remember. Most vocal samples in EDM have no meaning, but I think he chose that phrase really to emphasize somebody who lost somebody - _was_ with you. The fact that it came from a song he made years ago meant it carried nostalgia to the _listeners_ as well. Well played, Joel.

I think that's because it wa released in place of Stay/drop the poptart, and the lyrics were written by Colleen D'Angstino, for her dad, who had passed away.

All the people who are are surprised and angry about new "artistic and chill" styles from the mau5 - all the "true" Mau5 fans probably never listened to Albums like "Get scraped". I really love it everytime he comes up with something different.

1. club bangers, this is the type of stuff he'd play at concerts and raves.
2. chill tracks, this is the type of stuff you listen to to vibe out or just to listen to music.
A lot of people want club bangers because they want to dance non-stop and not take a brake to vibe out. I for one, like to vibe out to music.

I actually prefer this over the vocals version, it has more impact and a tense feel thanks to the apparent sound of an artificial lung in the background and the piano feels extremelly relaxing in contrast to the strong guitar riff which makes it greatly enjoyable if you are looking for a relax session
I was never really a fan of the vocal version. I just dont think the Drop The Poptart vocals fitted too well over this song.

Is it just me, or can anybody else hear a ventilator? To me, I interpret the beat of the track as a heartbeat, being supported by a ventilator throughout this track. The heartbeat stops at 5:00, and the ventilator is turned off at 5:08

jielshusi It's because almost all of his work features conveying of emotion solely via melody/chords. Not some shitty explicit vocals. Mau5 ftw. It's all implicit, and you can only sit there and feel it.

Not that the album art and equalizer are bad, but I think it’d be a much better visual to start at a dark marine blue with white mau5 lines, slowly fade brighter, and then switch to lighter hues toward white once the song makes its shift up with the drums from the more muffled and underwater-like effects in the first third of the song.
Maybe even revert it back to black, as if having just risen from the ocean, to the sky, and into space.
That’s where I am when I listen to this anyway. Hopefully you’re somewhere up here, too.
