They rode Earthquake 3 times in one day, a testament to how great the experience was! Could you imagine someone going on Fast and Furious 3 times in one day now?
My family lived near Orlando at this time so everything you show in this video brings back tons of memories for me. As a Ghostbuster mega fan as a kid in the 1980s I loved the Ghostbusters show. The fact they drove the car around the park and had Ghostbusters following was always a fun treasure to behold.
WOW! I stumbled across this & all of these memories came flooding back SO QUICKLY! Me & my family also visited this very park back in 1995. I got emotional (in a happy way) watching this because I have lost my mother 2 years ago. She worked VERY HARD to make it possible for us to be there. I remember a lot more now that I thought that I did. Thank you for uploading this! IT MADE MY DAY!
My favorite ride of all time in any park was that Earthquake one. It was so realistic, electromechanically ingenious and I don't think they could build that today.
This is my favorite year at Universal. Those ad campaigns were filled with excitement, they just don't feel like that anymore. For one day, I was a production assistant for reporter Bill Shafer from the local NBC affiliate WESH 2 during the "Casper On Location" set. The house lights were on and I recall seeing all behind the scenes tricks. I find it odd of all the experiences I remember from those days, I never remember or have any memory of the Tour Tram! Great video.
So cool that you got to see the "Caper on Location" set with the light on, That must have been awesome, Its a shame you don't remember the Tram Tour, it did stop running on this year (1995) It always seemed popular and we would always take a trip on it, Although they did start downscaling the journey, I remember when we first went in 93 the tour did go backstage in parts, which was great to see behind the scenes at Universal Studios Florida

I'm gonna be honest. I feel like Universal Studios Orlando is not as good as what it used to be and that it was at its peak during the 90s and early 2000s.
there are great rides today...but none have the magic of the old originals. Jaws, King Kong, BTTF, ET they all felt like you were right in the middle of the movie full of movie magic.
I second that, they were the absolutely best back in the day 💯 and that's why they were so good, like you say "they all felt like you were right in the middle of the movie full of movie magic"
So Universal Hollywood kept the characters up in second floor windows (yelling down), but Universal Orlando stopped both experiences/characters in New York and Hollywood (Laurel and Hardy). Does anyone know why (other than money)? I also never got to see my 1930s comic legends like Marx Brothers walking around and even playing football with visitors...
What better reason than money? I'm sure they'd say lack of relevance, but it's just excuses to cut corners. Even in the backlot team member cafeteria, the serving sizes and food container sizes shrunk but the prices remained the same. Even 3rd party worker prices went up with the scaled down servings.
These were clearly better times for the theme park industry. I don't think screens and projections in rides are innately bad, but they certainly get boring much quicker than rides that have actual creative effort put into their design. Motion simulators can only be enjoyed so many times before you finally end up stepping into a motion simulator ride and realize you've just stepped into... yet another motion simulator ride. From that point on, any of those rides you do lose all meaning and magic because they all feel the same. I'm only 23 by the way. I say that to make a point that even I, at my young age, feel so bored and burnt out from rides that don't feel all that unique anymore, or lean way too much into movies that aren't even good watches (at both Disney and Universal.)
The camera work is bar none. Cant believe this guy lugged around a magnavox on his shoulder all day, legend! Shout out to the actors as well.
Thank you
Man these rides were soooo much better than what they put out today. Actually real tangible experiences, not some projector screen bs.

Wow! things sure seemed different.
They certainly were, Thanks for watching
i remember my gran telling me she went to Universal florida in 1998 and all the amazing rides, especially an Alien one where the lights go out and you can hear it running around you, i got the chance to go to Disney Florida in 2017 and we didnt go to universal, by the end of the holiday we saw a couple we met on the coach there and they said it was awful, nothing but VR motion rides and Harry Potter.
11:26 Actor: Um.... who are you?
Me: She's Olaf, and gives warm hugs.....
RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!
I got whiplash off the back to the future ride!
sorry to hear that, it was a very intense ride and you certainly got thrown about!
@@DisneyDave it was very intense but so good!
I'm gonna be honest. I feel like Universal Studios Orlando is not as good as what it used to be and that it was at its peak during the 90s and early 2000s.
The good days!
I was there in 1991 and 1995!
Even the sky were clear blue with no chemtrails! ☯🎥🎬🎞👍
Great to hear you got to experience the park in the early 90’s 🙌👌
Marty, we have to go back!
Best movie ever!
there are great rides today...but none have the magic of the old originals. Jaws, King Kong, BTTF, ET they all felt like you were right in the middle of the movie full of movie magic.
I second that, they were the absolutely best back in the day 💯 and that's why they were so good, like you say "they all felt like you were right in the middle of the movie full of movie magic"
The multiple lane change before the parking booths. I see nothing has changed with drivers lol.
Nostalgia
I wish Univeral and Disney would look back at videos like this and realize they are loosing the script...
@WatchChris . . If only 👍
I think you called a number and they sent you a cassette with all
Promos back then
So wait Disney didnt create this name either???

Looks that way!
Man, I miss the 90's. Everything sucks now.
So, Just a few rides? But lots of shows back than
When was ghostbusters universal I went in 1995 I don't know if that was there
Ghostbuster Spooktacular closed at Universal Studios Florida on the 9th November 1996
When I was an elementary we went on a field trip but I didn't get a chance to do that one
Before there was screens… animatronics these were the best
absolutely! 💯
11:44 I didn’t know this ghostbusters ride exist, before I was born in 1997.
Yep, I remember. They closed down in 1996 but it was fun attraction. It wasn't ride BTW, more like a show.
@@TheListenerCanon 👌🏻
god i rember the ghosybuster one i was thier onetime they had the actaul actors thier one day i was 5 or 6 lol
damn thats the year I graduated high school
That’s the year I went as a kid
Great year to visit 👍
How did they go so far backwards?
When USF cared about its customers.
Love the horror make up show
Its the best!
Back when a loaf a bread was less than a dollar
