It's a really clever way to blend it all. But still, anything on the screen just looks so fake. It's like the animation is too fast or something. It just looks rubbery.
I probably rewatched that part like 7 times. It looks like hes walking on the track that your car just passed. Same thing toward the end w/ the T-rex like his head is over/blocking your forward path a bit, need to wait from him to back up. Definitely adds a sense of actual realism
This, next to the mario kart ride, are by far the best examples of blending screens with practical effects. The only downside of the mariokart ride is that the googles are a bit clunky and hard to wear, but both are a peek into the future of attractions we want.

Get rid of that crappy Michael Bay Transformers ride on the lower lot here in LA and replace it with this. Make the entire lower lot both Jurassic World & Nintendo World. I wouldn’t mind losing the Mummy Ride, as much as it would hurt, to make it dino themed either.
When executed this brilliantly, I'm fine with the incorporation of screens. The blending of physical sets with the animatronics makes this a spectacular and immersive ride experience. Go Universal!
This was maybe blended better than The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman. That ride is 25 years old and finally has a ride or two that may be blended as well or better. Battle for the Sunken Treasure in Shanghai Disneyland is the other one that comes to mind.
This is one of Universal's best rides on the planet. Perfect blend of screens, animatronics, and great set design. If all their "screen" rides were a little more like this, people wouldn't be sick of them at all. Of course, we have to travel overseas to see it sadly.
WOW AN ACTUAL CHASE SCENE WITHOUT PROJECTORS😱😱😱this ride is insane!!! I don’t think any dark ride has gone to that extent of having so much practical material they used and less projectors. I hope I’ll get to see it one day!
The dark ride in the Dark Universe is supposed to be one of the best in the world! It uses the same systems as Forbidden Journey but more updated and open air. It also won't use those screen domes that Forbidden Journey uses.
I especially love the continuity on 5:03, when the T-Rex knocked the Indominus away on screen, then switched to the animation Indo through a real wall.
The chase sequence blew me away, I was not expecting that. Bravo to everyone who worked on this ride. The blending of the animatronics with the screens was truly well done.
They should have had a Jurassic World section in Epic Universe and then make the monorail from the first Jurassic World to link up the new park to Islands of Adventure.
@@SNS3000I don’t think you understand where Epic Universe is located, it’s about a mile or more from IOA so building a monorail in between would be literally impossible. It isn’t like Hogwarts express at IOA and USF where both parks are right next to each other.

That was stunning. Probably the best use of animatronics I’ve seen in any Disney or universal attraction in an extremely long time. I’m so glad they didn’t stick to 3-D things squirting water at people. Why can’t the American parks get on the ball with something like this?
HOLY HELL. As said by many before: this is exactly how it should be done. It’s as if they put Velocicoaster, Jurassic Park River Adventure, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man and Transformers into a blender…and this is the result. An amazing looking ride that definitely seems to be on par with for example Pirates in Shanghai Disneyland in terms of mix between screens and practical sets and animatronics. This is really mindblowing and I hope to be able to experience this one for real one day. Looking forward to that already!
it really kind of refreshing to see a _Jurassic Park/World_ ride that's more in the model of those classic Fantasyland dark rides where you go through an abbreviated version of the movie's plot rather than a self-contained "original story". come to think of it, i'm not sure there are many rides like that at Universal Studios at all.
I loved the moment at the end where you’re just expecting the Indominus Rex to be thrown offscreen, and then the ride to end! Seeing the animatronic at the end really sealed it for me. I had to chuckle at how cool and well thought out it is!
Tbh, I'm a tad but jealous. I wish we had something like this here in the US. Don't get me wrong, I know we're spoiled enough as it is and we have a lot of good rides here too, but I always dreamed of something like this. Nevertheless, to give my critical opinion, it did lack some dramatic effect. For instance, the lights on the buildings at the end part when the T-Rex and the other dinosaur were fighting were too bright, and there should have been more props for special effect like sparks and smoke rising, indicating the damage the dinosaurs caused to the power supply of the buildings. I would also like to see them implement a misting/fog system to most of the ride when your vehicle is going through the woodland/jungle areas, perhaps also to hide the parts of the building that are visible towards the ceiling. I also would say that the ride was a little too short. This video itself was only under 6 minutes long and you didn't even only cover the ride, but the outside entrance to the ride as well. And lastly, the LED screens. It's too obvious that they are flat screens. Not very realistic. Unless you were wearing some 3D glasses like on Spider-Man. It should be 3D, or at least better HD quality for those screens. Regardless, I'm stoked about this ride. I would only hope that I ever get a chance to ride it someday. Maybe in a world where you don't have to be a billionaire to be able to afford the fun things in life on top of basic living expenses.
I'm all for immersive screens + animatronics, especially when they look this good! This ride does both exceptionally well 👏 It actually feels like you're being chased by dinosaurs. The fluid motion of the animatronics is the best I've seen on any Universal attraction so far. I hope we can get this one added to Universal Studios Florida/Hollywood US. Incredible!
I really hope Universal get the go-ahead for their UK park and that this ride comes to it. I don't want to lose the classic River Adventure in America, but this is a masterpiece of a dark ride and deserves to be in multiple locations.
That technology should be the standard when it comes to theme park rides. The way they blended practical effects with video screens is freaking legendary. The only thing I noticed is that some of the CGI was a bit wonky.
they did a really good job with the indominus chasing the riders. after rewatching it it seems like they have it moving in a circle so by the time the next riders come it circles around towards them to chase them again. ending was awesome too very bright/clear and real animatronics!
Overall looks fun. Definitely some great AA’s, especially Indominus on the turntable during the chase. The screen balance is good, though it’s still jarring between the physical sets and film. I have had to rewatch the transition from the first scene overlooking the valley and then in to the physical sets. There’s something off about the transition from light to dark, even with the approaching storm. Love seeing the Scoop being used. I souped up update to Countdown to Extinction (still prefer that name).
Hot Take: I think this should replace "Skull Island: Reign of Kong" in Islands of Adventure. Far superior in every way (though I will miss the giant Kong head). It would be a snug fit, but the attraction can fit in the spot.

It would be cool if they could make that whole strip on the lower lot (jurassic world water ride to the transformers ride) and recreate it into the Mainstreet section from the first Jurassic world film. They can take out the panda express and replace that with a Jimmy buffets restaurant like from the film, they can even replace the Character Shop and retheme the building into the Imax movie theater from the film, and have them not only sale jurassic world stuff, but also other popular IP that have also been released in Imax. On the right side of the street, they can retheme the studio scoop into a regular jurassic world ice-cream quickservice. The whole strip will lead guests into this new Jurassic World dark ride(be the old transformers showbuilding). Basically, universal should make that section of the lower lot into a jurassic world land. It also could be cool if somehow they can recreat the monorail and have it take guest up to the upper lot and down the lower lot. Heck, I can even argue that the escalators are already jurassic world themed.
4:27 Absolutely phenomenal! The only thing that would improve this moment would be having actors on the ground dressed as soldiers or guards or whatever, firing at the dinos and running around all panicked etc., to get that size contrast between human and dinosaurs, and also add to the verisimilitude by blending real-human movement with the animatronics. The dinos look INCREDIBLE as they move and interact.
I see this and all I can think is this magnificent ride is from the same company that somehow thought Skull Island and Fast and Furious were a good use of screens. We've seen what Universal can do when they actually try, there's absolutely no excuse for what they do when they don't.
Ok, I’ll give Universal this. You know how to do a chase scene in a ride. You actually did it. Good job. Now, can we PLEASE stop being over-reliant on screens? More animatronics. Less screens.
This new ride with spectecular but i'm also kinda sad that the iconic jurassic park rides are being removed. They had the nostalgic feel that Jurassic world doesn't have.
As much as I would love this ride in the states, I don't like how Universal or Disney keep cloning their rides. Let this ride be unique to China. If you wanna ride it then to go to China or USA if you want their version.
I hope they never tear down the OG Jurassic Park River Adventure here in Orlando, but if they do, this type of attraction would be awesome. Hopefully I will get to experience it someday.

It's pretty much impossible to do this kind of ride on a water ride. They are two entirely different concepts.

In my opinion, they need to replace the Jurassic park discovery center into this ride. That building is pretty massive so I think it could fit.

It's impressive but I still think Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride in Tennessee is still the best dinosaur dark ride.
I see this and all I can think is this magnificent ride is from the same company that somehow thought Skull Island and Fast and Furious were a good use of screens. We've seen what Universal can do when they actually try, there's absolutely no excuse for what they do when they don't.

Ok, I’ll give Universal this. You know how to do a chase scene in a ride. You actually did it. Good job. Now, can we PLEASE stop being over-reliant on screens? More animatronics. Less screens.

This new ride with spectecular but i'm also kinda sad that the iconic jurassic park rides are being removed. They had the nostalgic feel that Jurassic world doesn't have.

As much as I would love this ride in the states, I don't like how Universal or Disney keep cloning their rides. Let this ride be unique to China. If you wanna ride it then to go to China or USA if you want their version.

I just wished we have one like this in Orlando which they are lacking.
I hope they never tear down the OG Jurassic Park River Adventure here in Orlando, but if they do, this type of attraction would be awesome. Hopefully I will get to experience it someday.
