I have OnePlus 12 and for me 13 is not much of an upgrade, I mean overall. Hence, I'll wait for OnePlus 14 in order to make a jump. What I'd like to see is major camera modules upgrade across the board, compared to OnePlus 12, with lesser protrusions of those modules, further better better jump on SoC performance (to 8 Gen3) and features (to Elite). Otherwise, if you have onePlus 11 or lower, 13 is gonna be an awesome phone.
For me the main upgrade is the removal of the horrid curved screen on the 12. I wouldn't have made the jump just because of this but the more it drove me up the wall the harder I would be considering it. Thankfully though the upgrade path was set for me by a somewhat inconvenient insurance claim that's somehow meant they've just bought me out, they couldn't seem to replace mine for whatever reason... So OnePlus 13 here I come!
Qualcomm should focus on ram speed instead of increasing cpu and gpu power coz some applications get reloading even if i kept lock it in ram. Lpddr5x is not much powerful
I've always wanted to try Oneplus phones but the one thing that always haunted me are the cameras. I know they've always been good, but the fear of missing out on *excellent* ones from other brands always lingered. Like now I have an S23 Ultra, and while I'm considering the Oneplus 14 once it launches next year, I think I'm leaning more towards the Vivo X300 Ultra (especially since the cons of owning a China ROM phone doesn't affect me all that much).
@Chicken-o5e The X Ultra series from Vivo always has the best camera hardware in any phone released that year (its specialty being portraits and zoom), especially the telephoto cameras. One thing I was also shocked was how much better the X200 Pro's microphone is in videos, when it was compared with the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The X300 Ultra isn't out yet, heck not even the X200 Ultra but I will be switching to it for sure
The reason that 1 + utilizes type A outputs with their chargers instead of type C is the cost. Type A is a much older format and universal cereal bus charges less to utilize it. OnePlus Mass produces their smart super vooc chargers as cheaply as they can so, they can include them in the box. If they were to pay universal serial bus more to utilize type C, it wouldn't be cost efficient. Thus, they probably wouldn't include the charger in the box. On another note, OnePlus was never gone. Unfortunately, people didn't want to pay the higher prices for the 9 and 10 series. Still, the 11 and 12 series are amazing and sell for a price that people are willing to pay.
As a oneplus 12 user myself I am disappointed with the camera design and its performance. Trust me the 64Mp periscope in 12 is extremely good, removing it is such a loss and I don't even see any advantage of it being removed. The battery life was already awesome, the weight is not significantly less
i also have the OP 12 the emerald green color and i dont use a case and most people compliment the design and color of the phone but honestly most also ask which phone it is soo.. but the phone is just great like pitch perfect, i couldnt ask anything more from this🤔. the only problem problem i have ever faced is like night video in ultra wide with 4k 60fps, its kinda not that great but on par with 90 percent of all phones i think.
oneplus 13 has a periscope telephoto, with f/2.6 aperture 3x optical zoom, with 1/1.95" (LYT-600 sensor)...they just downgraded 64mp to 50mp sensor but increased the sensor size so there will be no difference. it just needs to be tuned and they will tune everything before the global launch...it just need a optimization update...I don't know what research these guys do for their videos...but a simple google search or a teardown video of oneplus 13(wekihome chinese channel) would be enough...

This technology introduces the world’s first reverse periscope telephoto, which reduces the size of the periscope module by 33%. Oneplus 13 still has a periscope camera. The difference is in the structure. From the outside it looks like a regular camera module but when light passes through the lenses, it bounces from 3 reflective surfaces (prisms) and then hits the sensor which is positioned upside down aside from the center of the lens group.
