I have a semi horror game from the PSX I bet no one has heard of nor played. Its called Sentient from 1997. Your task is to save the crippled space station that is hurling itself towards the sun. You have to beat it by a certain time or all is doomed. Not true horror. But the horror of looming death is always present. It was rather open world for its time.

@@taldoralph if it were a matter of tone or story I would agree but Nightmare Creatures is broken on a mechanical gameplay level. It has you fighting the controls and camera from start to finish. And sure you can enjoy that but at that point it's called masochism.
