Its a nice hint at the expansion pack Yuri's revenge, to show that Yuri is a complete and utter mastermind, which is funny since the Allied victory is canon at the end of the game and start of YR

I played this game along with Starcraft and Diablo since I was 8. I'm 27 now and it's still great. Most games today with their high end graphics, production value and mechanics were nice, but they somehow failedto draw me in for a replay. You can tell when a game is lovingly made, instead of just a cash grab.
Yep. There's a certain authenticity to games made with love: effort put into the little details. Easter eggs and ideas included just for fun. More player flexibility in story and gameplay. A little more daring experimentation with themes and mechanics without fear of consequences. Everything gels well together or otherwise is simply... fun, an immersive experience. It feels like the devs played their own game and knew what they wanted out of it and loved it. A cash grab consistently feels like every feature had to go through executive approval and a calculation if the effort was worth it. There are main selling points that are thrown in your face again and again. A lot of more immersive detail that could have been there, save for a few overt ones, were just axed. Graphics are wowzers but fail to hide the ultimately shallow and pre-calculated gameplay. The player is controlled and all possibilities accounted for.

Kinda like the earlier works in the film industry, the earlier games had limited memory and tools creating effects available so they had to improvise and experiment with what little resources they had and made sure that the player is engaged and can do a lot of things and customize their play style even though the scope was small. Nowadays the main focus is on narrative and "realistic" renders to make the player feel like they're in the game, which is nice and all, but it draws away from interaction and active play in favor of a visual experience. If a game's primary pitch is that it's using the latest graphics engine or that it has a large map to explore and beautiful textures to go along with it, then expect to just be awed at first playthrough and then bored the next.
This mission is a foreshadow of Red Revolution mission, clandestine coup of the Reds from Mastermind Yuri in their archenemy territory. Good job, soldier.

Like how this mission, destroying the Psychic Beacon will play a clip of Zofia saying the Allied forces are no longer under Vladimir's control (nevermind that Yuri built the beacons in the first place), but nothing happens... what?
You get attacked by US civilians and GIs (if any is left alive) if you don't destroy that building. But the map doesn't have a lot of them to begin with. Though it's funny to free the GIs then destroy the specialist buildings :)))
I suspect the intention was for any surviving GI's to become a third faction opposed to both yours and Vladimir's forces, but for whatever reason didn't bother.

There is a certain charm when it comes to liberating/invading the U.S. capital; there should have been a mission to liberate, let alone invade San Francisco though.
If i remember, Desolators have a bit o bug. When you deploy them, u can force fire it on the ground and it will irradiate the land at a faster rate, Like how it is firing when not deployed.

The official playthroughs from the devs are fine too... but they don't tell you anything specific about how to complete them. Would be kinda cool (or hella complicated) if there was an Allied base on this map under the control of Vladimir that you could take over.

I laugh how many people say that it is obvious lie and that Vladimir is a good boy but many forgets... Vladimir might be on same level as Yuri for commander. After all it was first Vladimir who used comrade general while doing almost nothing, to get a big score and sit on Washington DC, while still (probably) not doing much and enjoying enemies being enslaved by Yuri's psychic beacon (at this time, it might have been programed to obey soviets, not Yuri himself) and using the american women and luxury to his own pleasure.
I personally like to see that it is "pulling a grudge" from comrade gerenal for being used. After all, we know who's next after Vladimir...
Yeah, I feel the same way. In my view, the Soviet Commander is an ambitious yet martially brilliant man who wants to rise up in the ranks, no matter the cost.
