The poor kid @ 4:50 in the video did not look like he was enjoying the felt recoil of the shotgun at all LOL although he hung in there like a champ got to give him respect awesome video by the way thanks for sharing it.

I’m surprised how much it bucked the young lad. My little brother is 11 years old and he handles 3 1/2 inch magnums easy. I also picked up this shotgun, and it does indeed look like it has more recoil then most shotguns. So hopefully it’s a decent gun.
Ps we shoot the magnums out of a benneli supernova and an old Winchester shotgun with a hard plastic stock. So maybe that’s why the recoil on our guns doesn’t seem and look as bad as this.
He's got to lean more into the shotgun for better recoil control. If this was my kid I would tell him to lean forward and adjust his stance to handle the kick better.
I felt every bit of his pain watching him, that shotgun almost sent him back into last year. Lol 😆
Teach the kid to pull the stock into his shoulder and lean into it. That way it won't knock he'll out of him as much.

Yep my wife, who is from Newfoundland had some not so nice things to say about him. She was like , he er fuukin stunner e is. Or at lelast thats what I heard. When she is pissed its hard to hear what she is saying.
But they took a shotgun to school because they were going mousing after school so..yeah.
You must lean forward a little and place the left foot forwards. Also, raise the right elbow. There is a natural pocket that forms there in the front of the shoulder and the butt will fit nicely into it. All these actions will reduce bruising and helps reduce the felt impact of the recoil. Have the young man practice with upland game loads until he gets used to it. Helps to combat flinching.
I'm happy for you. Here in South Africa you first have to get competency certificates from police and pass the relevant tests through a registered firearms training facility before you can apply for the license. My last license took more than a year to get. (The criminals don't bother btw. so tell the gun haters to study SA before pushing new gun laws in the USA. I do feel good knowing that every leagal owner really knows their stuff. Training and knowing the law won't hurt anyone.
The gun haters believe guns shouldnt exist and that by hating them, they can make that a reality.
People have been throwing stones at eachother since the stone was invented, and spoiler alert, it was invented before we were. Shotguns in particular are barely a shade above a musket. You can ban them all, someone will find a way to make a new one. Criminals dont care. Law abiders do. They should want MORE registered, safe, legal practitioners of firearms. They will never see the day that guns are extinct, but if they ban them all, they will see the day that only criminals and cops have em, and guess what, there aint that many cops compared to criminals.

I GOT THE ATI 20GA. IT DOES NOT HAVE NEAR AS MUCH KICK. MY BULLPUP WAS ONLY $300 FROM BROWNELL. I THINK I GOT A MUCH BETTER DEAL. I LOVE MY ATI FOR HOME DEFENSE. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NEW SHOTGUN.

That was definitely a round, you can hear the thump when it hits the ground. That’s why when I work semi autos I only put 2 in the mag.. you never know when you can make a mistake and not realize a shell is chambered.
New shooters start with one and work up as they get more comfortable, on my watch. This way I can control the situation more safely. Trigger fingers, safe directions etc.
Agree with a lot of the comments. Also why not extend the foregrip when trying to shoot. Especially for the kid and wife. Would make the gun much easier to handle.

I replaced the dinky fore grip with a beefy magpul. It handles beautifully. The Bullpup format seems to make it easier to handle recoil vs my other longer shotgun. I suspect it’s where the Center of balance is located that causes less muzzle rise.
Yes Sir. I agree. The bullpup makes the recoil go into your body more instead of sending the muzzle up to the sky. Also, the compactness of the gun overall is incredible. You can fit her in a very small case, where you can still store a magazine or two and a bunch of free rounds, as well as ear and eye protection and whatnot. Compare that to a 20" barrel non-bullpup, you are looking at about another 13" in overall length. Believe me, 13" shorter is incredible for storage and transportation. You will find that it can fit in many places that a non-bullpup can't. I also find the stock more comfortable and quicker to get into shooting position.

I just have to say this, number one - your children should never be without proper eye and ear protection.
Two - improper instruction or lack there of is no excuse.
You are the instructor, as such you need to know the rules of gun safety
1 treat all guns as though they are loaded
2 know your target and beyond
3 never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy
These are just basic ones there are more, my point being, ownership must be accompanied by ownership.
Own the fact you had fun but could have presented it all much safer than you have.
Sorry if this sounds harsh but God says correct in love, and I’m trying to here, believe it or not.

I agree with what you said in general. My Dad was shooting to 1,000 yards 7.62 ammo and I was pulling targets patching them and marking shots so shooters could scope them and adjust for wind etc before taking the next shot.as a kid i loved those days. My Dad taught me alllot about gun safety. So when I was 16 and passed all my safeties I was allowed to carry and hunt with my Dad and what a great experience we had from Rabbits to Ducks to Geese then Deer and then Moose.
Watching a newbie with no gun knowledge is a bit nerve racking and should have a calm knowledgeable Instructor.
The young lad did indeed have ear plugs and was wearing glasses(granted they were not safety glasses for shooting) did noticed the number of shotgun shells fired just wondering and as you said always know your backdrop ie: where are rounds or buckshot going?
Guns are always treated as Loaded muzzle awareness is mandatory at all times.
The look on his wife's face was priceless after the first shot..... a bit concerned about backdrop and where the buckshot was going but hey I wasn't there soooooo ..... keep smiling

The stock on this isn’t adjustable but they sell a longer version of this gun I believe it’s in black, just looked at one an tried it out at a gun store it picking it up next week for 640 usd. Teach them some gun safety next time to please op, guns are great when respected

The Hurricane FD12 and the Typhoon F12 are two different guns that use two different platforms, but share many working parts.

I had failure to eject issues until I cleaned and oiled it the first time.

Hey, in having a conversation with a young lad in Canada he indicated 12 GA were no go's. You had to have a 20 GA. Does that change depending on what part of Canada you are in??? I would recommend getting rid of the choke that came with it and go with a Carlson Choke.
12 gauge are totally allowed. The current government prohibited a lot of stuff though.

It works well with the right shells in it. My youngest son still will not shoot it, but he will shoot my 30 30. I told him the kick was about the same lol

Great hunting day by the family. Just a little suggestion for the kid and the lady. Lean a little bit forward while shooting the gun. Make your foot placement as the left foot toes pointing towards the target and the right foot a bit perpendicular to it. Sorry for bad english. Not an English speaker.

I have to agree with this. You don’t give novice shooters full magazines, you stand directly behind the shooter and be ready for ANYTHING at all times. The kid even turned the muzzle towards dad….albeit pointed mostly down, but still a no-no. Enjoy your shooting, but you get a D for safety.

In Canada you can order to your door from most gun shops.
Despite the gun bans over the last few years, you can own essentially any gun in Canada, no problem. About any shotgun, rifle, or handgun. The only thing is a minimum barrel length for handguns, and magazine limits of 10 for handguns and 5 for most semi-auto long guns. The only real difference between here and the U.S. is you're not allowed to use it for personal defense against human aggressors, to say simply. Ever since 1932, you require special reason for why you need to protect yourself from others. I don't know what politician made that be, or how it ended up happening, but it did. It must be something to do with Canada not having the right to bear arms in the constitution. That is what stopped U.S. politicians and continues to stop them from gun control implementations. If you look at the history of guns laws in Canada over the last 150 years, it is wild the swings in policy. I guess that's what happens when firearms are handled Federally instead of by province/state.

no ear pro on the wife with a bullpup shotgun! bullpup = explosion right next to your head. Ear pro is very important with bullpups, as well as good safety glasses. You should both have quality ear pro while practice shooting like this IMO, your ears tho, so your decision.
