what up Wei! haha yeah I really wanted to play the whole album! Love the Electric Sunrise lesson you just posted! going to cover that and The Glass Bridge by AAL once I find a place for my kit again. Cheers dude!
Dude you are INSANE!!! Please keep making drum covers like this! You are an incredible drummer. Cascade is my favorite song off of this album. Thanks for making it sound even more perfect.
thanks so much for the kind words! I havent done a cover in like 2 years! :( Trying my hardest to get one out by the end of the year! Plini more than likely :)
Man you rock !!! I never comment in any video but after what I saw here and on the Animals as Leaders song.... you've got yourself a new sub ! and many others I hope!! people have to watch you !!!! keep it up bro, you have the skill ;)
Amazing work, you nailed every single note on this complex track, perfect technique, amazing sound edition, hope you do also some Scale The Summit covers. Keep the good job.
thank so much Oscar! I really do appreciate it when people comment and let me know what they liked (or didnt like hah) about my covers!! really means a lot and a lot of time went into this cover to make sure every fill was correct haha! I love Scale The Summit and was planning a cover when their latest album came out but other things/songs came up! Look out for my Animals As Leaders cover of Backfeifengesicht in a week or so! Cheers my dude!
that would be nice, i recently started to do classic prog drum covers and upload them to my blog with sheet music included, your work is so inspirational to me. going to see that AAL covers.
very beautiful song and cover! great video and your mixing of drum sound it's perfect. snare and toms are perfect, are powerful and precise. but kick instead deserves more volume. trying to listen one of my last cover to understand what I say
whats up Emanuele! thanks dude! I love the way the drums meshed with the original track in this cover! and yeah i agree with the kick, i might need to sacrifice a tom mic to double mic the kick to get more slap, but man I love having the full 5 tom kit! haha Cheers dude!
for a powerful sound with lots of punch and also low, the secret lies in the location of the microphone and how to equalize on the PC. i use panametric equalizer, D82 vst, Gclip and fab filter saturn
Wow. Great stuff man. It's wild how long your arms are! All of your gear is so far away, and yet, you're right on top of it. Great cover, great drumming, and I subscribed. Love it!
haha! thanks so much for the kind works dude! really means a lot since i put a lot of work into these with the song, video and audio all edited by my self! I do feel this is my best mix so im glad you liked it too! Cheers Enrique!
thanks so much! this is my best sounding cover by far and im glad you liked it! just eq on toms honestly. everything sound better if you have great tuned drums, but its even more true for toms since I feel they are picked up 95% from their mics so a lot of imperfections can be picked up! thanks so much for watchin Jesus! Cheers!
I had a mix of feelings when I came here. I thought it would be a cover from the actual drummer that recorded the album. Turned out to be a much better experience though! Way to go, buddy! Nice drumming!
haha i love this! Troy Wright is amazing so to know that you thought I held it down means a lot! thanks so much for the kind words Leonardo! Cheers man!
Wow, after watching this and Backrwgwwg... however the fuck you spell it, you've earned a new sub. Keep up the great work, it's a wonder how out of the many drummers on YT, you're possibly one of the best, yet you don't have a massive fanbase. Hope your channel grows massively in the future, and good luck!
Wow! thanks so much for the kind words man! I really appreciate it! Ive always wanted to put out the best covers I could at the time instead of just trying to knock out a bunch of covers so im glad to hear you like them! Working a full time job along with tying to make drums full time has been tough but I'm so proud of these covers and cant wait to get a permanent place for my kit/mics to get out more consistent content! Thanks again for the sub! Cheers!
thanks! i like them a lot for these covers and some original recordings! I tested them right next to a SM57 and there was almost no difference in my opinion. I also think the fact they have the best mounting system it great for a clean looking drum set that doesn't take up mic stand space which is what i wanted for visuals on my covers
haha yeah this song is an absolute blast to play! as long as you enjoy playing and listen to a bunch of different genres of music you will be able to slay like this! haha Cheers!
thanks Daniel! About to update the description with everything i used to make this cover in a sec but in the mean time my kit is a Sonor Birch kit with Remo Emperor heads! I feel this is probably me best mix yet and its my first time using Emperors instead of my go to Ambassadors and am really loving them! Cheers dude!
I learned by ear actually! I didnt really write anything out for this one like I use to for other covers in the past so sorry! Thanks so much for checking it out!
thanks man! as far as tuning goes, I did tune to a specific pitch and was the first time I ever have done that! haha I followed Nolly Getgood's approach and the general starting pitch for drum was 8" - G, 10" - D, 12" - A, 14" - E, 16" - B. Then just adjusted them from there to get rid of weird overtones or buzzing. glad you liked the sound! Cheers!
I learned it by ear! I use a really basic program called Sony Acid Music Studio that can adjust the original songs speed and then i just set up loop points to really get the sticking in muscle memory. Thanks so much for watching Dave!
Handmade cities into cascade!!!! HAHAHAHA I wanted you to play handmade cities all the way too.
what up Wei! haha yeah I really wanted to play the whole album! Love the Electric Sunrise lesson you just posted! going to cover that and The Glass Bridge by AAL once I find a place for my kit again. Cheers dude!

thanks so much for the kind words! I havent done a cover in like 2 years! :( Trying my hardest to get one out by the end of the year! Plini more than likely :)

Man you rock !!! I never comment in any video but after what I saw here and on the Animals as Leaders song.... you've got yourself a new sub ! and many others I hope!! people have to watch you !!!! keep it up bro, you have the skill ;)

you do not need a double microphone for kick. I will use one, but I keep a lot inside. you should try. You get to have more punch
I use a BETA52A for kick about half way inside. its kind of a round boomy mic sadly. Ill try what you said and get it closer inside
for a powerful sound with lots of punch and also low, the secret lies in the location of the microphone and how to equalize on the PC. i use panametric equalizer, D82 vst, Gclip and fab filter saturn
for sure dude! ill have to look up some of those plug-ins! thanks!
I WAS WAITING FOR YOUR COVER AFTER I SAW PAPER MOON! I knew you'd cover it. :)))))))) Amazing cover as always.
hahah! love this comment! thanks so much! Just posted a new cover of Animals As Leaders right now also! Cheers Haqim!

thanks so much! this is my best sounding cover by far and im glad you liked it! just eq on toms honestly. everything sound better if you have great tuned drums, but its even more true for toms since I feel they are picked up 95% from their mics so a lot of imperfections can be picked up! thanks so much for watchin Jesus! How'd you learn this song? Transcript? By ear?
I learned it by ear! I use a really basic program called Sony Acid Music Studio that can adjust the original songs speed and then i just set up loop points to really get the sticking in muscle memory. Thanks so much for watching Dave!
How long did have you been playing drums matt (at the time where you played this cover)
My whole life! Like 20 or so years!
@@MattHernandezDrums shit that helps because if you said 3 years at the time of this video I would have just thrown away my kit xD
@@samuelbalavoine5031 hahaha! yeah it would be difficult to play this after only a couple of years!
I am moved
I dig it! Check out my drum covers too! They're a lot of fun to make.
thanks beats.mov! Cheers dude!
