Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies are sweet tasting. They are wonderfully soft and fluffy with crisp edges. An American favorite and although they were once made primarily during the Christmas season, they are now a year round favorite.

Hello Stephanie-
We were craving chewy Deli style lemon sugar cookies today during the ice storm, so I made these today but added 1/2 tsp of lemon extract and boy are they a hit! I do have to tell you how much I appreciate you. I have been watching your videos ever since I was a newly married wife and now a Mom to 2 teens and cannot tell you how helpful they have been to me over the years. Thank you so much!!
Ah yes! The flat bottom glass dipped in sugar...staple for flattening both sugar cookies and ginger snaps! ❤️🇨🇦
Started to learn to bake a few months ago. Tried these today because MFS (My Favorite son) asked for sugar Cookies. They turned out great.
II was never good at consistent sized cookies. A term that gets thrown around for this sort of inconsistency s "rustic". So I took your advice about weighing the dough for each cookie. Worked great for these, and the ginger snaps, and the thin chocolate chip cookies.

I made these today. Oh Boy! Hard to keep from eating them, they are sugar cookie perfection. We love lemon, so I dipped the tops in a lemon glaze ❤❤❤
I was on a quest to replicate a sugar cookie from a French bakery in the neighborhood. I had been eyeing your recipe for awhile and watched your video twice and decided it might be the recipe that I was looking for. I followed the recipe and my cookies turned out just like in your photo-video. My quest was short. The texture and taste were EXACTLY what I was looking for (crusty edges, light colored, and slightly chewy texture). Thank you Stephanie!

A nice little twist for sugar cookies is to add some Chinese 5 spice powder and go a little extra crispy on the cookie, Yummy ,happy cooking
