Bleach and curl and iron. But my teacher never taught me how to do it properly. The reason I just quite cosmo and going into barbering instead since I cut my own hair and everyone in my family allways wants a haircut. Barbers in my area are ass or don’t talk thier craft serious

I have ah question I started my apprenticeship today and I didn’t do well on 1 haircut ...is the master barber suppose to guide you through the haircut or AT LEAST give you tips or show you certain things or are you own ...I’m in a situation we’re I have 3 days to prove my self I already informed the shop owner that I need slight help with straight hair and he is a barber himself I understand he has a business to run but isn’t ah shop owner/Master suppose to at least show you somethings
Personally I ask plenty of questions to the fellow barbers in the shop. I learn from them hands on everyday. The owner isn’t the only one I learn from. He mostly is there just as a big brother figure that you can learn from, from afar. It is up to us to go get the information we need. here in the Aus, if you are under the age of 25, apprenticeships are free as well as extra training courses which are government funded. We don't have barberschools here.
Im in school paid 2k for the package of clippers/books and they aint even teaching me. I have to pay 40€ every week for going to school by train by the end of the class im gonna be down 5,5k

How would someone working 40 hours a week be able to do apprenticeship. And there isn’t any reputable schools here anymore to go to. I want to be able to have more hands on than book work. I suck at book work. ☹️ not sure what to do now. I can straight razor and do designs already I just want more experience. And master my craft here in Nashville

Fact if you haven't cut hair before don't do apprentice!! Don't call yourself professional level by cutty hair in the garage!! Barbershop and garage are two different things
My school is worth 7k but I’m only paying 4K cause they offer an in house scholarship as long as I can keep an average above 79% which is like a c average graduating in about 13 months... in my school not only do they teach us what we need for state board we actually get to cut hair as well... we do keep the tips and Monday is the only classroom day Tuesday-Friday we practice for state board or cut the walk ins hair
I have to say I disagree with all barber schools teach is sanitation. I went to a great barber school and I had been cutting without a license for years. My instructors made sure I was detailed and cut all types of hair before I graduated. They made sure u were skilled with a razor and u had to go out and market so u could get your own clients. U couldn't market by saying your giving free haircuts. I tried the appre. route but the owner was not good. That's a downside to it. U have to find a good owner. I'm in Texas but I'm moving to Cali. Going to school is faster and you can go where u want, charge what u want, and open your own shop if u want. Yeah it's expensive but once your done u can make enough money to pay all of the borrowed back. Downside to school is a lot of them are trash so take your time and find the right one, cost, and no pay unless they allow u to keep tips.(mine did). Apprenticeship in Cali you can't pay booth rent and keep all your money unless the owner finds a way to work around to make it seem that way and you can't get paid less than minimum wage. Give me the license in a year or less and I can make money outside of school if need be. Pretty much saying school is faster.
Why didn’t j martt use his G.I . Bill? He would’ve got free housing allowance while going to barber school for free. He could be working at the shop at the same time.
JFadeIt in fact the gi bill is used after you get out while you are active duty it’s called tuition assistance. If he could have stretched his time he would have been able to attend school collect free money from gi housing allowance and worked at the barbershop 💈

well considering it is these gentlemen's UA-cam video they can speak on what they like and they can probably talk about it because it is a difference in the schools vs. apprenticeship schools have their great points cuz they teach you the legal aspect in passing that bored but I've known of people here in Michigan that have when 2000 hours now Michigan offers barbering for 1800 and when they got to that state board they couldn't pass one part and then just give up after they that wasted you know a good nine or ten thousand to go so is its is benefits in many different things and I appreciate anybody giving their raw experiences for everyone to decide if it's for them cuz if they go to a school and if it said 15 to 1800 you can look forward to guaranteed 10 months to a year of your time being taken up not to add if you don't have a car you got to come up with bus fare and everything else so anybody that wants to tell this person not to speak of what they don't know if you don't like it all you got to do is flick to another UA-cam video keep your negative remarks and comments to yourself these young men are doing something about their their lives and they are doing something different that you don't often hear which is taking up Apprenticeship Training I don't think it's right for anybody to pass judgment on it when you're not going to pay for them and nobody else to go who wants to deal with having to owe somebody $10,000 when you don't have to think about it🤔🤔🤔🤑🤑🤑😕😒😞😔😵😵😠🤷🏽🤷🏻🤷🏻🤷🏼💇🏻💇🏼💇👍🏾👍🏻👍👍🏼💅🏼💅🏻💅💅🏽.

I been a barber over 15 years and the school just allows you to be a barber with license that it you learn everything at shop.

Apprenticeship programs the apprentice gets paid during training. It's on the job training, why are you paying to be an apprentice? 🤔
