Title: The Lion's Roar
Written by: Johanna Söderberg, Klara Söderberg
Lyrics:
Now the pale morning sings of forgotten things
She plays a tune for those who wish to overlook
The fact that they've been blindly deceived
By those who preach, and pray, and teach
But she falls short and the night explodes in laughter
But don't you come here and say I didn't warn you
About the way your world can alter
And oh how you try to command it all still
Every single time it all shifts one way or the other
And I'm a goddamn coward, but then again so are you
And the lion's roar, the lion's roar
Has me evading and hollering for you
And I never really knew what to do
Now I guess sometimes I wish you were a little more predictable
That I could read you just like a book
For now I can only guess what's coming next
By examining your timid smile
And the ways of the old, old winds blowing you back around
And I'm a goddamn foal, but then again so are you
And the lion's roar, the lion's roar
Has me evading and hollering for you
And I never really knew what to do
Sometimes I wish I could find my Rosemary Hill
I'd sit there and look at the deserted lakes and I'd sing
And every once in a while I'd sing a song for you
That would rise above the mountains and the stars and the sea
And if I wanted it to it would lead you back to me
And the lion's roar, the lion's roar
Is something that I have heard before
A children's tale, the lonesome wail of a lion's roar
Here from The Long Dark. They nailed it

I can’t believe, after 3+ years, this is only the 3rd comment. This song, and these 2 women, are beyond incredible. And what a version this is. Thanks.
agree
I agree... but I’m sad nobody remembers :(
I’m I’m impressed.
I think incredible is pretty accurate and sufficient to describe them.
Agreed, been trying to learn how to sing and play this on acoustic for the same amount of time. Still can't do it 😂😂😂
Thanks for "The Long Dark" for introducing this band to me. Incredible performance as well.
Criminally underrated band
One of the best performances in the last decades.
I will never get tired of this song. And Johanna's harmony on the "little more predictable" line... just chills. Going to see them in Stockholm next March.
Envious.
@D.A. Watson - these ladies are coming to Philadelphia and I just found out. Getting tickets for them for July 15, 2023 for my daughter & self. So excited 😊
@@melissaford717 Good for you and your daughter, Melissa. Enjoy.
@@johnthorne4093 thank you! You take care 🙂
how was it?
The Lions did roar after this beautiful song!
I have been listening to a lot of music for over 50 years now. These two are fantastic. No electronic drummer and bass line in their music. Refreshing.
What an arrangement, and the vocals are sublime!
I never get tired of this beautiful song which summons the spirits of old folk music in its best form with a hint of mysticism, I guess. Smart poetic lyrics, great melodies and voices. And what about that performance ? Fire 🔥
amazing song
Dude you can barely tell the difference they’re really talented. Wow.
Just found this group tonight. HOLY CRAP that's some talent! Love it
STILL one of my all time favourite waltzes.
This version is the best 💓!

They're incredible! Stunning vocals!
This is the best concert video that I have ever seen. Great band, performing a truly inspired version of one of their best songs.

I think it was a Rock and Roll version, and it kicked ass. Keep up the good work girls. Love your music.

At 4:56 Johanna is thinking, "Nailed it, bitch!" I write this in the most loving, most respectful, way possible. I adore First Aid Kit.

Well, for the longest time, I said music is dead, nothing but shit these days. Well, my faith has been restored. God bless you, ladies. Beautifully done, once again.
Love!!

Ich liebe es 👍👍👍👍
Brilliant
It's better in its own way than the studio version!
So that is a reason I make a tab for this version. This version have a soul.
Brilliant - channelling their inner Sleater Kinney/Carrie Brownstein 😊
They're touring US and Canada (I think) this summer - opening up for Lord Huron :)
Yes they're coming to Harrisburg PA!
I discovered this song in particular and I’m looking forward to seeing them live
We saw this live 8)
Show ✨🇧🇷
The crowd looks so dead...
I have known this song for barely two hours... now, if I die, obviously eaten by a wolf at -40 degrees :P, please play this for me

Comme disait de la Fontaine rien ne sert de courir ,mais de partir à point.
Hvor er den bare smukt udført.
They are really great! The keyboard player, is it Max Lorentz?
It's Steve “Stebmo” Moore.
@@TheSweMusicMan Thanks!
better than record vesion
5:41 :)
Lovely, even though not so typical rock festival stuff 😘
Pretty fucking good eh
Long dark
I’m back.
I've listened to several of their songs via UA-cam and it usually sounds, to me, that their voices are often unbalanced (Klara's voice is louder and/or more forceful). This performance sounded, to me, more evenly balanced between them. I enjoyed this performance.
Thats why they sounds so special together. Thats their sound!
Thats because Klara is the main voice
They're called backing vocals. When Paul McCartney sings harmony for George Harrison's lead vocal in Something, you don't hear them equally and you're not supposed to.
Jatka musiikin tekemistä sydämelläsi ja anna leijonien karjua.
The style of performance, I thought they are from Texas or Alabama. But it turns out they're from Sweden.
썸네일에 속았네
I’m here from the last of us... they killed it :)
No...." I dont share your values and politic". / Cancelling as these silly artist did in swedish moderate party. 😂
