The Montreux Jazz Festival takes place for two weeks every summer in Switzerland, drawing 250,000 music lovers to the shores of Lake Geneva. Since 1967, the Festival has celebrated all genres of music and generated countless legendary performances. Artists who have graced the stage of Montreux include Aretha Franklin, David Bowie, Prince, Bob Dylan, Lauryn Hill, Kendrick Lamar, Leonard Cohen, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, Nina Simone and many more.

I was there in Montreux in 2018. I don‘t know this band then, cause we won tickets for the gig.
We listend and watched this concert and since then I can say, I love this band, timeless music 😍

I watch this video every day, love this band, i cant believe they are not more famous, though they do have a loyal following. I think this era of First Aid Kit is the pinnacle - i dont see how they will top their current seat in pop culture- they already have the ultimate talent in vocals, drums , guitar and keyboards. How can they get any better ? they cant! so where do they go from here ? Unless they creat a hit song soon, they will see smaller audiences, less exposer, etc. but really, i hope im wrong, i hope they get bigger and bigger , they certainly have the finest in talent!
There is an obsession with getting better, bigger. They don't need to get any better. Just release quality music like until now and they will do fine. They sure don't miss work so I don't get your worry.

i know those dreams - and how moody they can sometime be - and yes - these girls - this band - and their production - is the cat's meow and at the top of the charts anyway you look at it - and yes - their music can just reach out and grab ya - great live performances and yet i especially like their collection of youtube videos - great band - great discovery - great songs with "feelings" that come across beautifully . . .

We breathlessly await the pending First Aid Kit single, the one that sings about boys sent to war to be slaughtered, like WWI or WW2, for example. I can't wait to hear the song about how our boys 'fucking suffer.' White-Knight Ronny, logic says that suffering is split exactly evenly across all genders. Culture right now says that it is sick and tired of certain women monopolizing and sensationalizing that suffering is the domain of females. First Aid is monetizing the suffering of some women. The First Aid band members live with freedoms, safeties, and luxuries that only .02% of all human civilization have ever enjoyed.

Artists tend to write about their own experience.The fact they don't write about men sufferring in war doesn't mean they don't care about it, it just happens to be outside their experience. They aren't monopolizing or sensationalizing anything, just talking about their experience as women. If men want to write songs about their experience in war they are free to do so. So First Aid Kit wrote one song about women getting raped, and sexually assaulted by men (and, incidentally, gave all the money from it to charity), what's the big deal? Doesn't mean they have anything against men in general or think men's suffering isn't a big deal.
