It’s a bit of a process. High pressure wash before disassembly to get the big chunks off, hot wash (dishwasher) for about an hour gets it most of the way there. Pull apart then In the hand parts washer with scrubbing brush to get the stubborn bits. By that stage the inside is spotless, and all the inside surfaces are mill finish, just washed clean. Old aluminum cases can be porous on the outside and get stained by oil leaks and road grime so the outsides are pretty much impossible to get perfectly clean. They get a very light dusting of flat aluminum paint which presents nicely and makes them easier to keep clean. If presentation is important, hit the whole thing with gloss clear once it’s all together, but that’s a step too far for the bullet, it’s what’s inside that counts 😀
@@brianmonger8185 ahh yeah I thought it looked like a painted T case, mine are just cleaned with Kero after pressure washing, I didn't think to paint mine, I suppose that's how show cars are done hey
@@IndyHepburn there are ways to get them super clean without painting. Bead blasting is very effective and also closes the surface to eliminate the porosity. Add a clear coat and it stays clean for a long time. The downside is it’s very time consuming to get a show finish, and for a off road competition vehicle it’s really not worth making it look that pretty. 🤷🏼♂️you can get most of the way there by running therm through a dishwasher multiple passes and hand scrubbing the really stubborn bits. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
that is a work of art, if I did that rebuild I would have parts left over
Hehehehe....
We don’t show the leftovers on camera 🤔
Your editing skills make my assembly skills look pretty good! 😀
A good team then......
